What's interesting is my grandfather on my father's side traced down our family tree and he believed we were traitors of Napoleon and fled to the Alps. I actually think I was a French piano player in a previous life !!!!
Her genius was in knowing that Ella's rendition was sheer perfection and that the only 'personal' spin she could apply to it was simply slowing it down. There are subtle elements that only Angelina can do, and it produced, in my opinion, the most emotion laden penetration of the song I have ever heard.
