@@crosswalklarry There's a (lost?) art to riding a thin, screw-on skateboard. That's not what I learned on, but close. But, Wallos?? That's insane, place looked like riding on a white shark's back w extra teeth.
I love the fluidity skating had back then that just doesn't exist today, with those low to the ground and surf style moves. Maybe the tiny boards had something to do with it, or it might also be because the video footage is always slowed way down. lol 7:30 Or sped up.
Great vid with awesome footage. So was the bert slide invented on a skateboard and taken to surfing? Or the other way around. Also, when skateboarding was on the up and up during the late 70s, did hardcore surfers ever hate on it, with the thought that skaters were just ripping them off?
Great job!
You Know u a hard mf when u ride Wallos in just shorts. Those surfing clips and the park flowing were so rad!
And on those crude board setups. 🤙

Let's agree everyone who skated before 1990 is a legend now. That word means really nothing anymore.
I agree. Legend not a worthy enough title for Larry Bertlemann and legendary not worthy enough to describe his impact and this video.
