An old mechanic once showed me a trick to clean battery terminals. It was an old Volvo 245 with the battery in the front. He said there is a special solution available. He went for a bucket of hot water and poured it over the battery. The result was jaw dropping. Immediatly you could see the copper on the treminals! I have used it since. Where access is limited I fill a mug with hot tapwater and dip the connectors in it.
Tips if you've ever in a similar situation with a plug wire terminal installation: 1. Lube the wire on the other side of the cover, it helps it slide easier. 2. Plug the terminal into the coil, then bend it, then slide the cover onto the terminal. This ensures that you get the correct angle of bend in one try.
I have been working on a esprit turbo 81 for the last 5-6 years and I think you will drive your car before me 😅 I like to se all the detail work and learning a lot from it 👏🏻
Dang, I'd like to be your neighbor! Thanks for taking apart that WUR. You got off lucky; mine always had a lot of corrosion on the screws, and there was always one that had it's head ruined.
Lmao this is why my car stays on Jackstands...oh my battery terminal looks a little corroded? I *could* just wire brush it...but nah I'll just buy the stuff to make new cable going back to starter. 😂
There is another car in my garage that I want to repair/restore so perfect that constantly talk myself out of starting on it at all. Hopefully all this RUclips attention will motivate me after this Lotus is done.
Aron love your videos keep coming !! By the way I have same car with same injection! I do not have power to the cold start injector when engine is cold ! I have to connect direct to 12v supply to start the engine (when it pass 2-3 weeks since last start) what’s your opinion? Cheers from URUGUAY.. Álvaro
I'll check the wiring diagram, I thought power came from that bi-metallic temp sensor on the intake manifold. But that could be ground. I'll check the wiring diagram and let you know what I find.

@@nitrusmr2 Just thinking, you might consider doing a review of your yellow Esprit going through all the bits and pieces that you've done and added to it. More of a marketing review rather than someone just driving it around a track and talking. I think that would be a fabulous review of the story of your Esprit with the review of "before and after". SI overlooked a simple thing. I went through that thing piece by piece. had it on and off the car and disassembled at least a dozen times. Eventually found that I had overlooked that metal screen on the inlet and it was clogged enough to limit flow to the WUR so the control pressures were sky high.

Fantastic progress!! I'm going to check my WUR soon. Idle speed is good as soon as the engine of my '88 warms up but Cold start it's always rough.

Totally mystified as to why my S1 Elise runs so rich. Sure it’s a fuel system issue somewhere. Whatever it is, it doesn’t slow it down!
We didn't get those in the US. If I recall correctly it's because the Rover engine would not pass our emissions.

Thanks. Yes. We started as MR2 specific shop, but over the last couple of years we have gotten very involved with the 4 cylinder Esprit's.
