Urban Sketching a Chevy Truck - A Drawing Demo in Ink and Watercolor

Thanks for joining me in this Urban Sketching Demo of a Chevy pick up truck. I show you with loose ink and watercolor how I go about creating this piece from laying out the drawing to finishing off the highlights. I use a fountain pen with waterproof ink and then watercolor paint to finish the artwork.

Ah it’s not shit Doug lol!way way better than I could do!Do you ever free hand trucks?I know a lot of tutorials even encourage tracing…what’s your feeling on that?Never seen the technique you showed us,very clever idea!Thanks for sharing!❤

Oppps... I though I'd edited that out!!! 😳
Tracing can be usefull sometimes if your really struggling and just want results and I used to use the technique in my design days but as I tend to this looseness and a free and easy approach is more fun and pretty on the page. Also I'm trying to preach that there is no such thing as 'right' where art is concerned but only 'fun' so it's not something I'll probably cover, you never know tho. That said I want to talk more about proportions when sketching. 😁
