  • New Idea 802A power unit and a 737 husking bed being fed corn from a 962 New Holland head. Husking always goes better with a little moisture, and of course, I have a great sunny day drying everything out; sure beats the rain! Moisture makes the husks more grippy so the rolls pull them off. I have waited all year for this day! Nothing beats ear picking corn.

    I remember when Jacob's self-propelled picker was the 1 row Ford 3Point mounted unit. 😄
    I guess technically that was his first Uni, since it had a Uni-row.😆

    Like all the different camera locations.The high location was the best.Doing Nick things not working out.Imagine that.
    AG tires for the pickup?😀 That was a nice cold start.

    Terrific new year content; there is something about your presentation and editing that just makes your videos informing and fun! Who knows maybe the next project will be rebuilding a baby stroller. Whatever you choose will be interesting. Max doesn't seem to need speech to get his message across. From rural South Australia.

    Your husking rolls are worn that’s why husk not coming off we had to replace hours after three thousand acres in our new idea uni husking bed. Back in the day we did lots of custom work

    Your picker is in pretty good shape not shelling so much at the butts unlike your northern counterpart saves a lot of corn at the head

      Jacob is selling most of the ear corn to hunters and less husks equals higher prices.

    What kind of engine does it have? On the right side of the header there is green iron what is its purpose.? It sure does a excellent job! I’ve never seen 4 row.

      That green is part of the down corn reel. I leave it on to threaten the corn to stay standing.

      They run the ear corn through a grinder to make cow feed

    You don't show the many hours fixing on the picker. Believe me I have run them. Very good idea their system. New Idea I don't think. It was in back of every corn pickers mind for many years. Just that they are more maintenance to keep them going

      Editor automatically put the clips in "candy color". Really makes reds, yellows and oranges pop. So I left it.

    Who wants whole ears of corn? I'm not a farmer. But about I can think of is squirrel feeder corn, but do cows eat ears of corn?

      Yes cows eat ears of corn. We turn our cows out on the harvested fields of corn to eat the corn missed by harvest and to eat the husks and they eat some of the stalks.

    Get rid of that piece of crap new Holland corn head and get a John deere head and you well have a lot better head for picking corn I know that's what I did with my NH piece of junk the john deere head made picking corn so much easier and not near the problems and sped up the picking itself

      We ran an 8 row new Holland head that came off a TR-96 on our 8820 new Hollands head got more down corn than the Deere head and was lower profile and had more capacity than the Deere head
