This is just one program I have seen that can be extremely helpful for inmates. I have seen quite a few programs of prisoners who have become dog trainers inside prison for people who need service dogs.
Markelle is a really cool guy. I met him last year at my brothers house. He and his team are saving lives, literally. I am a retired police officer with a lot of time in the street. Most prisoners are returned to the community. Its really important to help prisoners with their reintroduction to community life. These kinds of programs are excellent for reducing recidivism and helping incarcerated people to develop personally.
Kudos to Christine Yoo and to the coach who started this running program too. And for Markelle I pray for a good life and a renewal of his spirit daily so that he heals and can continue to help others.
Awesome stuff, thank u🤝👏 I just hope showing the film in other prisons will inspire and bring a huge positive impact on those troubled souls in them🤞🤞🤞✌️
Congrats to Christine and Markelle. What a terrific film about life in prison and using running as a vehicle to help rehabilitate inmates in a very real and tangible way. Markelle, 2:52 at Boston is amazing for anyone!!!
Great job Christine Yoo! I just watched the film and thought it was great. So glad I was able to help kickstart the project, and, that it resulted in a great film and, and in success for you.
Give people a purpose they'll rise above. The majority of people in prison got there because their circumstances and lack of fair opportunity. Shelter animals have the same effect.
Excellent discussion! Prison shouldn't just be punishment without rehabilitation.

This would be heartwarming if we were talking about anything other than the American prison system.

The title of this video would scan better with "You are not your worst crime"
Teaching prisoners to run.…
