Thanks Stan! I have found that getting these old knives on the cheap and fixing them up is a great way to build a collection without breaking the bank!!
@@Terrysknivesandmanstuff Thanks brother Terry!!!it’s a lot of fun too see how they turn out! I think I like buying old knives for cheap and making em purdy again better than buying new knives! I hope you have a great and blessed weekend brother! Tell Mrs. Sweet Pea howdy for me??😁
Wow! I"m afraid to look at my 62's for fear that the comparison would cause me shame. Beautiful result. Watching you sharpen gave me flashbacks to my youth watching the older men at hunting camp freshen their edges. A Western 062 was well represented in those camps.
Thanks brother Mo! Even when I was a young kid I was always around the older fellers! My sharpening is a direct reflection of that! I’m blessed and very thankful to have had those experiences!
Great video! I'm an old guy who still carries the Case carbon steel peanut I purchased as a teenager. With care, a good pocketknife will last a lifetime.
Yes sir! I couldn’t agree more! I still have my first knife ! My grandpa bought me a case sodbuster at the hardware store when I was 12. I’ve had it for 43 years now and love it more than ever!!!
Shining like the Sun 🌞! As a complete novice when it comes to cleaning up knives, I would like to thank you and the Brotherhood for ALL the helpful tips and advice. The goof off,3in1, and zippo fuel are not in my arsenal YET but will be soon. Have a great weekend.
Winner winner chicken dinner. Great job . I occasionally take a magnet while using the steel wool and get all the little steel filings that come out of the wool so they don’t get down in the springs and joints. Patience is a virtue Cornbread.
That turned out great!! I love cleaning them up and use about the same process you do!! I really like the Western Folding Hunter do to the smaller handle design!! Thanks for sharing this one!!
Thanks Jerry! I appreciate that! I’m not in the same league with some of you guys like Kevin ( The Knife Doctor) but I enjoy it, and it’s a great way to build a collection without spending a fortune!!!
Purdy funny there ol boy. I have a similar bin just like that. So glad that you took the time to record the process and empathize the time it takes. It can be discouraging but continual application of elbow grease will get it there. Great job cornbread.. …5 minutes 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks brother! I appreciate it man! I think I like finding these affordable gems and cleaning them up even more than new knives!!!! It’s a lot more rewarding!
You're like me Cornbread, once you start something,, you can't stop. It was amazing to watch that knife get shinier and shinier as you went along. Great video my friend.
Thanks brother! It’s now official! I like getting the old affordable gems and bringing them back to life even more than new knives! I’m nowhere near as good as Kevin (The knife Doctor) but I enjoy it and have pretty good luck either way it!!!!
Excellent video! Watched start to finish. I figure if you can invest 4+ hours in the cleanup and detail. Then I can invest 25 minutes to see how you did it. 😎 And you did a fantastic job! Enjoyed watching the step by step process! Beautiful knife! Happy Friday! Cheers, RW

Have you ever used Ballistol? I just started using it, ive been using Remoil like Kevin does, and I like it, but this Ballistol foams a little and on jigged bone or even saw cut Delrin it really cleans them up.
Ballistol had a huge booth at blade show. I watched them cleaning knives with it and it was doing a fantastic job! Honestly, I had forgotten about it until now. I’m heading to Amazon to order a can as soon as I hit the send button ! Thanks a lot for the tip brother! Thanks a lot for watching and leaving a great comment! I appreciate ya buddy!👊🏻✌🏼😁

@@Hunting4Hookers don’t sell yourself short, you did all that by hand
@@OzarksBoy-g8n It’s a lot more fun doing it by hand! I have some buffers and sanders but it takes too much of the fun away! 😁
Looks great! One of the HF magnetic bolt trays is good too hold the knife upright while it soaks in your favorite oil. Contains the mess as well.
