Hello all, commenting from our new channel! Thank you for all the kind words, and thank you to all who’ve already subscribed to the new YT channel! Excited and grateful to keep making this show for you guys! Hope you guys enjoy this ep! - Ryan and Byron
The way I almost had a heart attack that we were losing FYA!!! I am beyond excited to support yall on your new solo chapter and I'm especially excited for some new defunct episodes!!! 🤟🏻
Thank you for not giving up on the podcast, it has become one of the best parts of my week to listen to yall talk about my favorite rides for hours on end
passing this for the fine wine test is crazy though i gotta say this is the only ride where every time i get off I'm like "damn those animatronics are somehow even worse and creepier than I remember." The version at disneysea puts this version to shame.
The absolute FEAR that hit me in the stomach when you started all serious... how dare you. Thanks for not getting rid of the pod, this is the only podcast I listen to the day of release.
Makes sense to give the podcast its own channel! The algorithm today isn’t kind to variety channels so this will definitely help the channel grow even more. Congrats fellas!
There is no other theme park/attraction podcast show like For Your Amusement. I am so happy it is continuing and I’m glad the excitement for it has been as high as I have for it.
Had me so worried at the beginning- so happy to hear you’re continuing. This podcast is a big source of comfort and it’s been a beautiful thing to watch y’all be able to nerd out about these great attractions and theme parks that we all have connections to in some way. Just subscribed to the new channel, and I’ll keep listening and watching until you’ve exhaustively evaluated every last theme park attraction there is.
From a fellow Chapman alum and theme park sicko… start a patron! We will subscribe! You guys are living the dream to be able to host and create this show. Thank you for keeping it going it means the world!
I've seen a lot of other podcasts with some pretty well known celebrities that would've been *massively* popular a decade ago but are just barely making views in the tens of thousands. All of that considered, and given the niche topic, this podcast is doing extremely well!
Seeing 10 grown ass men belting out let it go and having the time of their lives on this ride makes my day! Also, the part where you go backwards always makes me emotional because I just imagine Walt riding it and being so proud of the imagineers.
Had a heart attack, while I was listening in the background and had to go back and re-listen...my heart almost broke! So happy and immediately followed!!!
the way this ride passed the hollywood test is WILD to me, esp after they said earlier in the video that it doesn't follow a storyline and we have no clue whats going on in the ride.... but love yall anyway🫶🏻🤷🏻♀️
Around 29:18, Ryan mentions that he would be angry if a place that was not-exactly-Japanese was put in the Japan pavilion. I’m American, but my heritage is Norwegian. My great grandmother (ironically named Anna) was born in a town called Arendal (sounds a lot like Arendelle) and I’m really into my Norwegian roots (I even speak Norwegian with the cast members in the pavilion when I go hehehe). When Frozen came out, I was instantly obsessed because I knew the setting was based off of Norway. I loved Maelsteom as a ride, but Frozen being as big as it is has given a lot of visibility to the Norway pavilion and the movie itself gave a lot of attention to the country my ancestors are from. So it doesn’t bother me too much!
That makes sense. I think from Ryan's perspective, the long and unkind history of Eastern depictions in North American media sours the idea of a Japanese-ish story being created for the Japan pavilion. I don't believe that Nordic countries have had to deal with that so Disney creating a fictional place in Norway to set their movie and then stick it in the Norway pavilion has less baggage to it
@@LegPressWhizzer yeah! I totally get that. I’m also speaking from the perspective of someone who is Norwegian by heritage and not a citizen of Norway so perhaps they feel differently. I wonder how a SanFransokyo kinda thing would fly in the Japan Pavilion… that’s perhaps a comparable thing
Yeah when the Frozen movie first came out, Norway literally had it plastered all over their visitor website, like “hey come to Norway, it’s where Elsa lives!” So I think they’re fine with it 🤷🏼♀️
@@kristinotto102 hahaha no way! I didn’t know that! The first time I went back to Norway after Frozen came out, I wore an Elsa shirt and braided my (then bleach blonde) hair to see if anyone would pick up on what I was going for
I want to see a vlog of Byron and Ryan going to The Efteling…I truly think that you two would absolutely love it! The most beautiful dark rides i’ve been on, and some pretty fun thrilling coasters as well!!
YOU SCARED ME!!!! My drunk friends and I got to ride this back to back 3 times with the help of castmembers trying to help us get on as much as possible right before closing. Amazing.
Definitely need to get Jack Pattillo (formerly of Rooster Teeth) for a Great Movie Ride episode. He had a Theme Park podcast with RT and talked about when he worked on the Great Movie Ride many times.
i cannot tell you how scared i was when yall said there was an announcement omg. i know theres a bunch of theme park sicko content but this podcast is just different and i love tuning in every week to get mad about how you shoehorn rides i hate and snub rides i love
Last time I was on The Three Caballeros it was like a safe haven for me. I was belligerently drunk standing in the heat of the line stumbling around in my drunken stupor until getting inside, and watching everyone enjoy their meal. That ride is beautiful
as a uk theme park nerd i love this podcast, its so fun to get a deep dive into rides as someone who has never been able to visit these parks. i’m not a ride fanatic, in fact i got into theme parks from watching walkthroughs due to my fear of rides (still have a fear) and fell in love with the history of theme parks. so thank you for this podcast
First video on the new channel featuring DefunctLand?? That's some absolute heat right there. Subbed to the new channel and so excited to see what you guys have in store!
I’ve watched almost every episode of this podcast (I don’t watch rides I haven’t been on to avoid spoilers) and was distraught at the thought of this podcast potentially ending. I’m ecstatic that it will live on and will support it wherever it goes - even if that means one day behind a paywall. Thanks for keeping the show alive.
Fun fact: Tokyo's version of this ride is NOT a clone of the EPCOT version. It's a retelling of the original movie instead of the mishmash of scenes that EPCOT's is
the move to a new channel makes so much sense to me. im sure your videos will perform even better in the algorithm with the channel being more specialized. this is the only podcast im interested in honestly and im happy to keep supporting. on the new channel i might turn notifs on since i know ill be watching every video!
Nearly had a heart attack at the beginning! Glad to see you guys still going strong, and I can’t wait to support you in the future. Love all the Watcher crew ❤ Much love from the UK
Alien Encounter!!! Oh my God, I'm so excited. I went on the ride at Disney world when I was 9? And I can still as a 33 year old remember is vividly. It scared me so bad.
I’m actually super grateful for the new channel because I’ve been manually checking back in weekly since Kevin was featured last time. I don’t really watch the other podcast so I hadn’t subscribed yet and immediately did to the new channel!
I honestly shat myself at the beginning, I thought you were going to announce the end :( absolutely love this pod, happy for you and thank you for this fantastic show!
I was so worried that the announcement would be the cancellation of the show. I'm so glad the show found an audience and excited for the new channel! I love the Olaf animatronic that walks in the Frozen Ever After ride! Looking forward to the Extra-Terror-estrial episode. I miss Stich's Great Escape terribly! It has been closed for years and there STILL isn't anything in that show building.
So glad you'll still be on RUclips! I got into this podcast because I'm a big Watcher fan and needed some extra audio content while I'm working outside. I'm not a theme park adult at all, but this podcast is so fun and actually really makes me want to go to some! I grew up going to Frontier City in Oklahoma, lol.
i would be lost without this show, so i can't wait to support this show on the new channel!! 🎉 i'm rooting for FYA and have been sharing the love with my fellow theme park sickos 🫶🏼
Thank you guys for not giving up on the podcast!! I look forward every week to listen, I work from home and podcasts keep me company :) I enjoy the history and the goods and the bads of each attraction! As a fellow theme park head I’m happy to know I’m not alone with these opinions! I go to my home parks so often that I’ve actually ran into you guys!
Haven’t even finished the episode yet, just wanted to hop in to help show support for the podcast! I’m a former cast member who loves amusement park content. However it’s such a niche fandom that finding well produced and highly entertaining content can be challenging and this podcast handles both of those fields perfectly. Please never stop!!!
I just have to tell yall how much I enjoy this podcast! Not only have you re-sparked my passion for Disney and introduced me to to a lot of other theme park content channels. Subscribed to the new channel and wishing you the best of luck! 🎉🤞🏻
I am so thankful to have gotten such a peak behind the curtain of Ryan's Bachelor party! I was in TEARS at the ride photo! I love "seeing how the sausage is made" I LOVE the thought and intellect that's being put into this!
So glad we're getting more! This podcast brings me a lot of joy, and it's been so great to listen to this to get hype before my first Disney World trip since I was a kid happening in 3 weeks... I'm so excited.
So, maybe it’s a me thing but I hated the old troll ride. I think it’s because I watched Ernie Scared Stupid movie, which had a troll that turned kids into wooden dolls. Then my grandparents took me to Epcot where there was a giant wooden troll in Norway (still there in the gift shop). Scared me so much that my grandpa had to take me to Mexico to calm me down because I thought the troll was going to get me 😂. To this day, I still can’t be near wooden troll dolls…but I like the trolls in Frozen.
The first announcement had my stomach in knots… and not the fun roller coaster type. So glad y’all aren’t going anywhere! I get to take my husband to USH tomorrow for his first visit ever. He has no idea about the FYA “fun facts” infodump that awaits him. Keep up the great work!
Yeees. Extraterrestrial with defunctland as a guest is a hell of a way to start a new channel. Subbed to the new channel(im not actually subbed here because FYA is all i watch)
happy to follow this pod over to a new home :) really glad yall get to keep making it!! as for the hollywood test, imo im happy if a ride pulls off a coherent THEME, but i don't need it to tell a story. in fact i think some rides are better for not trying to tell a story (grizzly river run, roller coasters, etc). but it should be visually and thematically cohesive.
I love this podcast so much, thank you for creating such an awesome community for theme park nerds. I just subscribed to the new channel and I can't wait to listen to new episodes!
Holy cannoli you guys had me sweating there for a moment! Wishing you well on the 2 week hiatus and the subject/guest for the premiere episode on the new channel is so exciting! Also, getting the lore of the infamous bachelor party trip feels like an appropriate penultimate sendoff to this stage of the pod lol. Very rewarding lol
As a huge Frozen fan who went on his first WDW in part to ride FEA I can say: I've never been so excited for you to cover an attraction that I know doesn't have a snowball's chance in heck of being World Class ❄
I almost had a heart attack at the start of the video, I truly look forward to the podcast every week. I'm glad it's not ending and I subscribed to your new channel in a heartbeat. I'm so excited for spooky season episodes! If you ever consider starting a Patreon, you could have subscribers vote on polls of what attractions you should cover! Also while I'm here, let me throw my hat in the ring for more roller coaster episodes please - from a fellow coaster thoosie.
Thank you for continuing the show! As a fellow theme park sicko with no one to indulge me, I love this pod and I could listen to you guys talk forever. I look forward to Tuesday every week!
I think it’s the fact that as a huge theme park nerd, there’s not many places for us to feed that joy especially in podcast form. and ryan for it to be you who I grew up watching on Unsolved is amazing and special. byron i’ve come to love your commentary too and your technical knowledge of rides and theme parks in general. FYA might not have a humongous core audience but it’s really really special and i’m soo glad you guys feel the same way and are going to continue to make it 🎉🥳 can’t wait to see you on the new channel!
40:30 we get ride footage of the guys flipping out over Olaf I love it so much. This time stamp is for me and anyone else that loves it and wants to come back to it. ❤😂
I was literally holding my breath listening to the beginning of the announcement. 😆 I’m so freaking relieved you guys are keeping the show going solely out of the love and passion of theme parks. 🥹 so stupid, but I too am proud to be a theme park sicko. Love you guys. Thank you for doing this and bringing it to the masses. 🩷🎡🎢
You guys really have something special with this podcast. Theme park sickos finally have a place to get together and listen to two dudes talk about the most random rides and it’s honestly so amazing. I’m glad you are continuing and I can’t wait to continue anticipating each Tuesday!!
Holy sh*t, you guys can't scare me like that! So glad you're keeping this going. It's the one thing I look forward to on Tuesdays when i get home from work
I am so thankful for this podcast and the care that goes into each episode! I always felt like I was so weird for being so interested in theme parks and their history, but it's been great to see I'm not a lonely weirdo in this!
Hello all, commenting from our new channel! Thank you for all the kind words, and thank you to all who’ve already subscribed to the new YT channel! Excited and grateful to keep making this show for you guys! Hope you guys enjoy this ep! - Ryan and Byron
I'm just glad you guys are still doing it!
Thank you for keeping it going I love this show!!
Almost gave me a heart attack but this is a lovely suprise. ❤ Already subscribed. Here's to FYA 🎉🎉🎉 best wishes to you boys!
Love you guys! So glad y'all are continuing FYA! Literally makes my Tuesday every week!
Love you guys! So glad y'all are continuing FYA! Literally makes my Tuesday every week!
So glad the podcast is not cancelled.
It’s my favorite podcast 🙌
Same! My heart dropped at first - im glad to hear they arent ending!
This and creepcast keep me sane through my weekday (complete opposites haha). I totally agree. I love the lightheartedness of this show.
The way I almost had a heart attack that we were losing FYA!!! I am beyond excited to support yall on your new solo chapter and I'm especially excited for some new defunct episodes!!! 🤟🏻
Thank you!!
RIGHT?! I THOUGHT THIS WAS A BREAKUP MESSAGE!
FYA drinking game: chug every time they mention the infamous bachelor trip
I feel like I know as much about it as someone there
That first announcement had me at the edge of my seat verbally saying "oh no..." lmao

Dude, seriously. I found the podcast recently and I’ve been binging so hard.
I’m with Shane, honestly seeing those manatees is one of the things I look forward to most when I visit Epcot. They’re so cute

3:14 “just want to make that crystal clear up top”
Sir you scared the shit out of us for three minutes. That was not up top 😂
Mater Nation is glad For Your Amusement will be sticking around
I really hope you get your dream and they ask you on as the special guest
From a fellow Chapman alum and theme park sicko… start a patron! We will subscribe!
You guys are living the dream to be able to host and create this show. Thank you for keeping it going it means the world!
Same and same! I second this as another Chapman alum!
Patreon! I would subscribe in heartbeat! You could do polls to vote on what attraction you cover!
Not me having to fully pause and take a beat to digest the fact that Ryan is a right turn to Canada person.
Oh my god me too
😂😂😂
Love him but it’s simply incorrect lol

for real they kept going on about how its a highlights reel with just moments from the movie yet they passed it but at least its not world class
2:27 when you said solo, my mind went straight to “so low we can’t hear you”
I’m such a sicko 😂

Love the show so much. So glad to hear that you’re gonna keep going!

Thank you for continuing the show! As a fellow theme park sicko with no one to indulge me, I love this pod and I could listen to you guys talk forever. I look forward to Tuesday every week!
I always watched this on my TV so I didn’t know it became a separate channel. 😊
Yes! I'm so happy for you guys I listen to this every week!
Thank you for keeping it going!! I love this show!!
