Orient Beach was my all time favorite beach, we went there a lot in the 90’s and 00’s. At one point it was decimated by a hurricane. It looks like they’ve built it back up but not back to its heyday glory. Still looks beautiful. One side of that beach was ‘clothing optional’ and had a big sign forbidding cameras beyond a certain point. However nude people would come on the other side of the beach because the food and drink places were there. You got used to seeing them after awhile and it was no big deal.
Orient Bay is the best community to rent a house or apartment for a couple of weeks. Easy walk the the Village that has about 11 really nice restaurants all in one place with a lot of atmosphere at night. Also, the beach restaurants have great food too. The best sushi I have had on the island is at La Playa on the beach. Bikini and Kontiki have good food and wraps too. Yes, on the far end of the beach, Club Orient (or what is left of it) is absolutely clothing optional. Everywhere else on the French side will have many topless women. Happy Bay is another great beach that can be accessed by a short hike (½ mile) from Friars Bay and is definitely clothing optional too.
Thanks for another great video, on our trip to Sint Maarten we stayed mainly in Simpson Bay with a few days on the French side, which I think is a great location many wonderful restaurants and casual bars. It is also quite upscale it houses the lagoons in which all the yachts berth. Enjoy
Baie Rouge beach was probably our fave, all of them were beautiful though of course...def more so in the morning when you might get lucky and have a beach all to yourself. Renting a car was def the way to go
You stayed on the right side of the island. My husband and I stayed on Orient Beach in June for a week and loved it. The food was amazing and the beach sublime!
I've been to SXM several times and Orient Beach is where I stayed with the best view being Mt. Vernon however my favorite place that I stayed was above this bakery in a very sexy loft. 5:30 every morning you could smell the breads baking and get up to go on your nude walk...just BEAUTIFUL! ❤️😊
Very enjoyable watch, you guys have very good chemistry & very laid back, fun to watch. I have lived a few years on SXM and I miss it dearly. Hope to return one day!
Hello My wife and I were on the Dutch side ..... 2/5-2/20/25.. We have visited the island most of the last 9-10 years...first two on cruises...since then we stayed on the island...always on Simpson Bay. 1.25+ miles of beach that borders the runway for a bit. You can walk to great restaurants and small grocery stores from there....but we always rent a car. In Phillipsburg, the Blue Bitch Bar is fun...this year we tried the Lazy Lizard and the owner, Nick made sure we had a nice meal/ drinks. The Dinghy Dock Bar on airport road is a must stop...great food/craft beers/friendly staff. The Palms is our go to spot for Valentines Day...Jo does a great job. Tap and Still has really good burgers. St. Maarten Yacht club is great to have a meal/drinks and watch the yachts squeeze through the inlet under the drawbridge. These are all in Simpson Bay. Strong winds were experienced the first couple of days, followed by more than 24 hours of rain...this resulted in more seaweed present than usual... and a ship washed ashore 2/5/25... the Mitsuha. Progress is being made on the airport...but it has been slow since Irma in 2017. May God bless you.
We went in July and loved it!!! Rented a car and drove all over the island. Grand Case was amazing. Phillipsburg had wonderful shops. Marigot had the best pastry shops especially Chez Fernand. Thank you for recommending Sint Maarten.
Yes, the Right or South-East end of Orient Bay Beach is a very well known 'clothing optional' beach!!! Usually, since this is the windward side of the Island, the surf and wind and sargassum are a factor here. Looks nice and calm in your video! Many times this is a big destination for kiteboarding in the Tradewinds and surf.
Hi Guys , we miss you here in DR. I been in San Martin is great but you should be here this time of the year. The carnival and the independence day (Feb 27) is very fun. The customs for carnaval is famous around the world, people from many countries come because is celebrated in every city of DR. The Punta Cana Carnival is very special. Santo Domingo Capital have a big Parade at the end of the month. Actualy two of them , the military parade and the carnival parade. Good luck! Regards
Really enjoyed the day spent in Saint Martin when on a cruise just a few years back! Awesome!! Sure did enjoy the sun and spent most of that day in the water! Love it!!
I look forward to your videos every week. I have been to St Martin twice for a day stop on a cruise ship. Love Phillipsburg. I haven’t seen anything of the island though so would love to do a week long visit to see something of the island. Great place to get jewelry. I have friends that buy all thier jewelry from there. And I did have that shopping incident where I bought way to much stuff at a shop after drinking in the shop.😂
There is never a wrong side to stay when on SXM 💚 If you are ever back on the island I highly recommend Bamboo House (Dutch Side) and Good Morning Cafe is our favorite breakfast spot (French side). Rusty Rocket (Dutch side by the airport) is absolutely fabulous for drinks, burgers and a view! Dingy Dock (Dutch side), the Boon Beach Bar at Mary’s Boon (Dutch side) is a great place to eat, drink and swim. And our absolute most favorite place to eat is the Lolo’s!!
Amazing video! Good job, guys! We are going there soon and just wanted to check if you have any tips for renting umbrellas and chairs for the beaches. How much would it cost approx? Thank you! :)
We stay at Saint Maarten Sea Palace, downtown St. Philipsburg, right on the beach.. Balcony faces the beach. Great for sitting out there having coffee in the morning watching cruise ships coming in, or seeing them leave at the end of the day. Sea Palace is that tall pink building in your video with you both standing on the pier with the building behind you. We get free wifi, beach towels and chairs. And yes I like a car to get around the whole island, to go to Grand Case for dinner where the locals prepare food on the barbecue, Marigot to shop in the local market plus go to the fortress, and to go to Maho Beach to watch the airplanes coming in while have food and a drink at Sunset Beach Bar. And of course, you have all of the beach and stores downtown to explore within walking distance. Plus the many restaurants/bars. . With a car you can go to the French side of the island to take the boat over to Pinel Island which there's a charge and as well for beach chairs and umbrellas at Pinel.. Restaurant/bars there. Sea Palace Hotel parking is $25.00/wk which is located across the street, and there's a restaurant inside the Sea Palace serving excellent food. Local and West Indian, jerk and curry. La Sucriere French Bakery on Dutch side has an awesome variety of pastries, good with cappuccino. Faces the lagoon where you can sit overlooking the lagoon while enjoying your pastries and drink. . Iguanas occasionally wander about. If you want to know what time the huge planes pass over Maho Beach, Sunset Bar and Grill, adjacent to the Beach, has a Timetable posted of the daily flights coming in and time of arrival. We were last there April-May, 2023, o time for the Dutch Csrnival. The parade is over 2 days and goes right by the Sea Palace which we are able to see just stepping outside. We did the parasailing, horseback riding where horses go into the water, sunset catamaran with buffet and awesome music and The Flying Dutchman ziplining, and Rhino Ride with snorkeling. We spent 3 weeks in St Maarten. Stayed a week at Mary's Boon, on the Dutch side, on Simpson's Bay, near Airport. Mary's Boon is right on the beach . You just step out of your unit and there you are. Great restaurant. I loved going there esp in evenings for dinner to watch the lights in the distance and look out over the water. Free wifi towels, beach chairs and umbrellas. Overall I loved both places we stayed on this trip. I esp loved the calm, warm waters
Nice video! I love St. Martin/Sint Maarten. It’s so nice and easy to enjoy a stay there. I definitely would NOT have recommended Nettle Bay or Marigot to stay. Better would have been Grand Case or Orient Village. On the Dutch side I love Cupecoy or Simpson Bay best. You can catch those vans/buses for like $2-3 per person all over if you don’t want to rent a car. The nude beach is world famous on Orient Beach but you shouldn’t go over there unless you’re going to undress. Topless is ok on the entire island. Also, there are some beachside places where if you eat a meal, you can get chairs and umbrellas for free. Definitely a $ saver. Can’t wait for your next video! Cheers 🥂.
Thanks! We chose nettle bay because of the price tbh. This island is expensive! I think next time we’d choose Grand Case though, that’s coming up in the next video 🤙 - Trevor

Other beaches where nudity is fully tolerated are a beach on Pinel Island, Rouge Bay, Plum Bay, Long Bay. Topfree is normal on all beaches. Point of correction., Naturist means nudist, not naturalist. Naturalist is a person with binoculars watching birds or elephants. Like David Attebborough is everywhere.

You might feel like you should have stayed at Philipsburg, but MANY people prefer the French Side! We plan on visiting by Cruise... and our plan is to immediately grab a taxi/driver and head up to Orient Bay and the French side.
We also preferred the French side overall. But Orient Beach is much more on the pricey side in general. That's the kicker. Either way, the whole island is beautiful - Trevor
@@DelightfulTravellers You are correct but it still is an option especially if you’re staying in the Philipsburg area and want to venture to Maho, Muellet Bay beach,etc.. we have used it.
