Saw this movie for the first time on Netflix and was honestly really moved by it. Well done and well written for the most. Kevin Kosner showed a whole different side of himself in this film.
I love this movie! It’s Kevin Costner in a way we’ve never seen him and we will never see him again. I never knew he was so agile! The athleticism and agility he brings to this piece of cinematic art is absolutely beautiful (not to mention sexy). It’s a gorgeous gem of a movie.
An incredible and an unforgettable film. Much respect to Kevin Costner for creating the best water movie ever made, maybe it was underrated back then, but now many people finally understand its value.
This movie was sadly a rock in a hard place. The scenes that would have been better left in were cut out and, some of the counterproductive scenes were left in. Had it been edited better, this would have done way better and been good competition with Road Warrior as best post-apocalyptic films ever. This film is just behind that but, less so than it could have been. What the crew chose not to elaborate on was what they should have. The lore and potential of this film are so great that sadly, it had to take the internet for it's potential to be realized. One of the greatest and most thought out scores of all time as well.
Все фильмы Кевина Костнера всегда содержательны,"Водный мир"-не исключение,он всегда говорит со своим зрителем,а не просто снимает кино для развлечения!
Just saw this on Netflix for the first time in like 20 years since i was a kid and saw it in the theatres. I love Costner but tbh , didnt seem that he fit the part of a "mean" lonesome pirate type if you will. Costner has a gentile sweetness to his nature that well he just cant act mean. other than that he was 40 when filming this and agile af! dayum. This was classic 90's filming, action packed , fun, and a sexy af main character. you have to appreciate it for its era. if made today , it would be an eerie dark violent soliloquy that would leave you feeling uncomfortable yet drawn in.
Super underrated. This movie is awesome

So underrated film. I love it and watch it in every couple of years. I like this even more than Mad Max Road Warrior.

Even with taste being sunjective, that's going a bit far. It's definitely a guilty pleasure of mine.

This film talks way more than just a post-apocalyptic event....
