No joke, I laughed so hard when you scratched off the n of broken 😂
IT'S BROKE!
When you opened up the back I said out loud “ power supply , power supply , power supply “ 😂
Haha Thanks for watching!
That game looks good Joe. Also, Nice shooting on that last hole that you played!
Great work.
I repaired a lot of CRT-PC-Monitors back in the early 2000's.
I have a few 2SC5588 and a lot of others HOT's back in the Shop.
But i can't use them anymore.
Great work love your vids alot keep up the great content.
Thank you gamingcoffeebean5430! We enjoy making them
Those menus were fiddly! It's probably a good size machine for a house as you say. Cheers.
You can always give them the plastic plexi in case they do like it
Nice work Joe, as usual. Re: TV monitor adjustment. The brightness and contrast labels are misleading. They really ought to be black and white levels respectively. Usually turning up contrast as high as it'll go is best, provided it doesn't blow out near whites. Even if you like bright displays, turn down brightness to get a good deep black, without making very dark grays black as well. The high contrast will still cause the overall picture to appear "bright".
I'm a fan of keeping the brightness/contrast low. It tends to leave you a sharper image and more importantly it prolongs the life of the tube.
Never heard it called hots, always called it horizontal output transistor.
What does 'never heard it" mean? You forgot to put a personal pronoun at the beginning of that, it should be "I never heard it called hots", shouldn't it?
That thing will sell hard... especially so close to Pinehurst!!
This beautiful machine is already gone, somebody had to have it. I used to work for an op and a lot of my locations at the time, when FORE was new, were making 2-400 a week off of these things. I had a restauraunt (Logan's) that was pretty busy, we had a 1000 bill stacker on the bill acceptor, and I collected it every two weeks. If I waited three weeks, the stacker would be full, and there'd be $300 worth of quarters in the cash box that they had been getting off the bartender all week. Just a monster game when it was in it's hayday.
I enjoy your commentary as much as Ronnie's!
Thanks!
That HDD is growling, it needs to be replaced.
if it ain't broke...
Duplicate that drive before it fails. They don't last well.
Cool cabinet, though it's a shame it's golf...
We have the file saved already, Thanks for watching
@LyonsArcade I thought that was possibly the case, or at least have access to get all the software from somewhere, i was just checking.
you need to learn to pic lock and not damage the cabinet.
Thank you satanworshipper
What a waste.. rip the monitor out dump the game...
The game is worth two thousand dollars. The monitor is worth one hundred dollars. Keep going, we want to hear more
Don't be negative come on now..Golden tee is a great game
@@naytch2003 yeah ok game but use a dumpy burned in monitor. Why would you waste a perfectly good monitor on a garbage game? Throw it in a neo geo cab or a simpsons, tmnt, etc. Honestly, Golden pee just sucks.
@@piratestation69 your opinion..I love golf games..which begs the question..if you hate golf games why bother watching this video in the first place?? So you can spread your hate around like a bitch..f off elsewhere
@@naytch2003 you like boring golf... who cares. My point waste of a good monitor. Decent crts are hard to find that dont have massive burn in. If you like the game so much go buy the crappy arcade 1up version then turn it sideways and shove it up your candy ass.
Glad you are putting in a CF, Joe. That old IDE drive is on its last leg anyway based on the bearing noise it's making. It's hard to believe they haven't all been converted to CF cards or SSD drives yet!
And being Western Digital, it could have shutdown issues.
Speaking of hard drive issues, I remember a brand named Adaptec. I guess they were rather mediocre. But there is the story about why they went out of business. A company ordered more than they had. They tried to get the company to pay up front since Adaptec was nearly broke and didn't have the requested amount in stock. So they hatched a plan to get the client to send them payment before sending all the drives they wanted to purchase. They depleted their stock and sent literal bricks for the rest. The idea was that they'd use the payment to immediately produce the drives and then issue a recall and send actual hard drives in place of the masonry.
However, this scandal irreversibly harmed their reputation. I think Maxtor bought them out, and Seagate later bought out Maxtor.
@10:30 that means... oh dearie... dearie me... my monitor is broken. Nice video as always.
I don't blame you for doing a cf flash upgrade on it. Now not all CF flash is the same. If you can get ahold of Industrial CF flash drives, they usually are better. Not all CF flash cards conform to the older PATA IDE HDD standard.
Hey Joe!!
Hey Jason!
I have the same thing, except it’s a golden tee clubhouse edition. It’s a neat cabinet, but I gotta sell it to make space for some REAL arcade games!
I had one of those clubhouse editions once, this is a little different, it's not quite a full size but bigger than the clubhouse one. The clubhouse one has a different pcb in it too that emulates the original golden tee games from the 90's, this one is running the full original Golden Tee Fore Complete pcb that the large ones did, I can't tell if this is something IT released or some operator somewhere had some really nice cabinets made, but it's like a 3/4 size or something. Thank you for watching WrigglyShark!
Very clean cab for its age. I have a similar one and always wanted to take off the plexi. Think the graphics will hold up to light home use? I have a soft spot for these cabarets. I like the PacMan, off road, and outrun cabarets. Easy to move around. Best of both worlds.
It depends on the game. If it has the official original Golden Tee 'kit' artwork on it, yes it will hold up for decades, because the art is reverse printed underneath a laminate, so you never actually touch the artwork. If it's just something somebody printed it may not be though. Most arcade game control panel overlays are reverse printed and are very resiliant to wear. I've actually seen very few ever that wear at all, they usually just get stained or faded or ripped or cracked, mild vandalism by kids is usually all that causes them any issues, in your house it'll look the same as it does today 15 years from now.
Nice birdie!
Birdie on 3 , brilliant!
in within seconds!
Haven't watched your video yet but I can say I 100% hate the GT 2005 fore. I have a PILE of pcbs here all with rotted surface mount chips. Every single one has some serious corrosion at those chips and none work correctly. Cut my losses and got rid of it. (This was a full sized one)
I don't hate them, I love them, but I will agree with you that the pcb's are very hard to repair, and those surface mount chips are dying off en masse. If you know anybody that can do surface mount repair, usually they can be fixed, because the main problem is the legs lift up off of the processor chip. It's pretty trivial for someone who's good at surface mount repair to lay the chip legs back down on the board and get it working again. I'm not any good at surface mount stuff though, so I have the same problem you do, a big stack of broken Golden Tee boards. I have a reflow station, I'm going to try to repair them eventually. Now if it has corrosion that's of course a different thing. I haven't seen much corrosion on them but again I haven't tried to fix a bunch of them so it could be a big thing I just haven't noticed....
Yeah man every single one of mine have corrosion at those legs which is causing the problem. I have a hot air station, microscope and extremely small soldering iron tip. I could do them but the amount of work isn't worth it in my opinion. By the time you clean the pads, repair traces, repair rotted off legs you'll be into it far too much time. I got better stuff to do!
It's hard to spot all the damage unless you really get close.
@@LyonsArcade
Was just about to comment that I’m surprised yall don’t replace those noisy HDs with modern flash alternatives as they’re just gonna come back eventually , despite the “make it an 8 not a 10” philosophy which I totally get lol. And then you ended up doing it, nice!
is that crackling noise on the speakers supposed to be there it seems to be there at the start of the hole? what you need is a camera mount for your head to free up your hands.
It's not supposed to be there, it's a common issue with Golden Tee PCB's, they are very noisy. Some people it drives them crazy, I don't mind it. Some people are also happy with a camera strapped to their head, I have a problem with strapping a camera to my head :) Thnak you for watching clumaster, we'll see you on the next one!
cool thanks for the reply and thanks to the both of you for putting these out i learn a lot from you guys doing this. @@LyonsArcade
A golden tee is one I will have someday. It was one my favorites in the 90s because not many played it. Lots of quarters and hiurs for me.
You can ring the flyback to test it.
That is beyond our current capabilities
Oh hell no you didn't just make that shot... It's Broke!!
Where do you get a repaired board and/or hard drive for a Golden Tee Fore Complete
it ain't got no gas in it sounds better then its broke
First noise I hear: dying hard disk. :)P
Well we're all dying, it's just a little further along (hopefully)
@@LyonsArcade Oh, trust me on this. I've lost count of how many of those types of WD drives I replaced. The spindle motors were complete garbage. I was surprised that one actually spun up and started reading.
This is amazing! I wish they made all real arcades in a mini form it’s like the size of an Arcade1up 👊🏼
It's hard to tell from the video, but it's about twice the size of an Arcade1Up, very interesting cabinet
Yay!
Very entertaining and fun to watch. Thanks for posting this.
Thank you theKurtsPlaceChannel you're always so nice with your comments. We appreciate you watching!
You selling it?
Its brokEN 🤣 🤣 🤣
Yodelayheehoo
Yodelay Yodelay Yodelayheehoo!!
Will you be filming the CF swap? Be interested to see if there’s any configuration needed or if it’s just literally a swap out. Regards
You just download the hard drive file on a compact flash and it plugs right in with a adapter
@@LyonsArcade cheers, appreciated. Regards
IDK this one is an easy 10 you just need to replace the HDD with an SSD and with the fixed t molding it gets to a 10 pretty quick. But yeah working with the 7,8,9 club makes moving games way more easier than working with 10s.
The problem with making them a 10 is nobody agrees on what is a 10, and you end up dealing with customers who are absolute a@@holes. We had a guy SUE US us once, because the lights in his shop reflected off the screen of the monitor. He was such a moron he was mad at us, because of the placement of the lights in his shop. The judge threw it out of court. There's your 10. Normal people don't care if it's a 10. Anybody who's overly concerned with it being perfect isn't ever going to be happy with a used game, and we only sell used games. When we have somebody ask if it's mint, we tell them no it's got all kinds of problems, and hope they never call us again. That's also why we don't sell any pinball machine made after about 1986
@@LyonsArcadeI feel yeah. there are a@@holes everywhere and it's best to operate in a way to stay away from them.
Great video, Joe. Easy fix. Glad to see it up and running. I am sure it will sell fast. Thanks for filming Joe
So the HOT Transistor and the Flyback were both bad? anything else was bad
I didnt see nothing Joey..what happened?? 😲
Rewind it!
@@LyonsArcade I know..was taking the piss:) great shot Joey
It's broke. Just like that sharpie is now.
It's Broke!! hahahahaha revenge back on Joe - here's the list of what's wrong.... It's Broke! lmao
1Up's ain't crap. They make people happy.
For a little while, then they break and cannot be repaired
@@LyonsArcade They make a good cheap home retro machine with a Raspberry Pi.
Compared to real machines. They are literally junk.
If you grew up playing full size arcade games like I did, a 1up machine just can't compare. They're too small and just don't feel right.
@@christhompson2006 I grew up with them, repaired for a living and have many original kept machines. I still use 1up for cheap monitors/cabinets for multi retro platform using pi's, 60 in 1, ect. Many friends or youngsters, get a chance and a sample of what we love 😍
How much for the Vita? lol
Good Eye, we actually sold it a few days ago
Dang it! @@LyonsArcade
