When you dressed to go to the shopping mall, ash trays to match the cubist modern interiors, plants, planters, and water features EVERYWHERE. There was a semblance of glamour and pride in every facet of living. Pass me my More menthols and De La Renta scarf there are things to be done! 💜💜💜
I used to dash off to the bathroom to hear certain songs more clearly without all the background noise. Everybody else thought I was having a last-minute emergency, but it was just for the music. Some of the songs I still remember well and I haven't heard since

When you hear this stressed out on an interview to a major business meeting you can’t really feel anything else; this high grade music on your ride up would be a sort of coping mechanism to endure just a little longer.
Here in Italy this was the kind of music broadcasted with fixed monoscope image waiting for the mid afternoon tv programs (i.e. sport..) Always loved these pieces of music! I am wondering why it was marked as "muzak".... We had very good musicians for it, too! Pietro Umiliani is one of them.
Just love the sounds it brings sweet long forgotten memories of a time when life was full of dreams of the future and sadly it did not make it as we all wanted . Keep the music alive brother. Take care

I used it at work from the early 2000's until 2017 back when it was near impossible to find and one had to dig HARD. It definitely prevented me from getting fired or going to jail.
It's not the same thing, but find some mall that is still open but that time forgot, and then listen to this on headphones. It's like going into a time machine. Who knows? Maybe you will actually portal back to the 1970s. Take your roller skates just in case.

These actually are the background sounds and "noises" I heard as a child when I used to travel with my parents to different countries due to dad's job and I remember such kind of sound at airports while waiting for our Boeing 747 and even the kind of music available on many channels on-board. I am impressed that you listened to this as a high schooler while working on projects or doing homework. In high school I spent my time doing homework and projects listening to Motley Crue and Guns N Roses but I was a terrible student. As a middle aged guy I am able to appreciate this stuff now, love all your videos and play them while at work.

I remember this exact same playlist that was in YT before 6 years, if i am right the channel was named Viktor Torvik? and i also recorded them to my computer to listen to them offline, and due to some stupid acts of myself i lost them all about 4 years ago. I remember Viktor's channel too and how a lot of his good stuff was suddenly zapped gone forever! Through memory, I was able to locate a lot of his songs on other channels but it took me years!..lol. He was the first to turn me on to "Retro Futurismo" remixes as he had a nice library of those too. I realized that a lot of them were mixed by Skeewiff. The story goes the founder was intrigued by Kodak's name/trademark, and followed suit with Muzak back sometime in the 1930's. The rest is history!
PS-Forgot to mention I'm a Pietro Umillani fan myself, he did some seriously excellent music!

LOL i thourght it was a vireo about the casette player. ( i had the same model back then . because the right way to load the tape. are to place it at the bottom and then slide it all the way up .. 😁 but the music are nice and easy to listen to. 👍 /michael

Holy shit! I remember this exact same playlist that was in YT before 6 years, if i am right the channel was named Viktor Torvik? and i also recorded them to my computer to listen to them offline, and due to some stupid acts of myself i lost them all about 4 years ago. I am so happy to listen to this again, a really unexpected reunion from my dusty shelves of memories. Thanks chief.
I remember Viktor's channel too and how a lot of his good stuff was suddenly zapped gone forever! Through memory, I was able to locate a lot of his songs on other channels but it took me years!..lol. He was the first to turn me on to "Retro Futurismo" remixes as he had a nice library of those too. I realized that a lot of them were mixed by Skeewiff. You should check out his channel as he's very talented! Here's a handful of several retro links below from my library. Let me know if you remember any of these from Viktor's channel. 😁

I was sad because he had a lot of great underground and obscure albums with great background tracks and I have no way to search them as the artists were mostly unknown.
