Johanna’s books are a must buy for me. Yes I feel the same way about the empty spaces too. I plan to just colour in how they are. Some with backgrounds and some without. Saves e a lot of headaches. ❤
Supercalifragilisticexpealidocious haul, Some really nice items there, But the one that turns me green with envy is the Mythogoria one. Oh my goodness I have seen this a few times now and so gotten into the mythographic series. I really x 5 hope they bring this book tot he UK. You are so lucky to have extraordinary friends. Love to kitty.
Hope you enjoy the Gulliver's New Travels book! I feel like I'm going to borrow Maia's awesome idea again and use it like I use Garden Enchantments - as a full-book WIP and a place to experiment. :)
Hi, it looks like you got some great stuff! That Wald und Natur book is on my wishlist, and I already have the Gulliver book, I saw it on the same channel as you. I would love to see how you colour in that. Grabie does not ship to Belgium, so unfortunately nothing for me there. Enjoy your colouring ❤️
I actually prefer Johanna’s new books to her old ones. I’m so jealous that you managed to get your hands on God Jul - imusic is the only place I can get it from currently (in the US) and they no longer have it in stock, I emailed them and they said they won’t have anymore before next year 😭
I remember seeing somebody post a picture on Instagram from Wald und Natur, saying that the paper took plenty of water for watercolor. Can you let us know what you think once you try it? It's definitely on my wishlist. Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but I actually like the big open spaces in Johanna's new book. Lots of room to play around with fun background colors. Her older books aren't quite my style and have too many tiny repetitive details for me, but I like the newer ones better.
Yes, ofcourse, I will try watercolour in there as it’s always good to experiment in different books and if it doesn’t work well, at least I know not to use that medium in there again. The big spaces can be a good thing if you like doing backgrounds but I’m not feeling so creative lately so they stress me out instead, thinking about what I can do with them!
Hi k beautiful haul and happy mail.. I haven’t brought much in ages too I have a big collection of supply’s it’s crazy the only book I brought is magical worlds God Jul Maria trolle new book came from pre order and a colouring book I got from big W a Christmas colouring book from May Gibbs the gum nut babies cuddle pop and snuggle pop.. that it for a few months ❤❤❤😊😊😊xxxx
Johanna Basford's books are a must buy for me. She's a great artist and her books offer up a lot of variety. I feel the coloring book market is so saturated that people are in a sense, spoiled to the point they become critical of everything. All critics aside, we are very lucky to have so many wonderful artists giving us so much choice in what we choose to color. Great haul as always K, thank you.
Amazing haul k .. please if possible could I have the link / website for the Hanna karlzon book if possible so I can keep my eye out for it .. thanks for sharing
@@Emmawilliams83 Here you go, someone mentioned that it won’t be available until January, but you never know, sign up to get notified when it’s available - imusic.uk/books/9789180385817/hanna-karlzon-2024-god-jul-bound-book?srsltid=AfmBOoqdlquAg4Cexzo8SI1zpVrIkfst83AFcsYlkwrSVZXsxXTmstIV
I actually feel the same way about the new Johanna Basford book I was coloring the balloon but there was just too much empty space I then tried to add in Background but I don't enjoy coming up with such large Backgrounds by myself. I really enjoy her newer illustrations like the dragons and the king fisher. I wish she had done more of these images I feel many of the illustrations are just slightly different versions from illustrations from world of Wonder, rooms of Wonder and small victories. But on the other hand I can imagine it's quite a huge pressure to come out with a new book every year.
@Be_a_bright_sparkle thanks, that could be a solution maybe for clouds or something but I don't own any stemps do you use this method regularly in your coloring books?
@@DJsColoringArt I bought a lot for this very reason in her books…I also pick out something in the picture ie leaves and either draw them, stencil or stamp..🥰
Johanna was my first colouring book and was my favourite for agessss but I have not bought the last 2 as feel they are a bit samey now as well which is super sad
I looked for God Jul, but can’t find it. So I will look again after Christmas. The hardback Mythographic book looks lovely. I hope term is going well. Seems no time at all since the summer holidays.
Do you have a p.o.box? I'd love to send you my Mindfulness colouring book. It's different than your average mindfulness colouring book. I'm also in the UK
Too samey is similar to what I said about JB's latest book. He pics are too much alike book after book. I felt she is going in the wrong direction with the empty backgrounds. Not everyone wishes to design their own background, most don't. I agree, is it a case of trying to please everyone? She needs new content, new ideas, a new direction. Her daughters are critical of her work and I tend to side with them. Her work is too repetitive for me. I'm not fond of the wallpaper or motives. I won't be buying anymore of her books, I regret buying the last few which have become dust collectors on my book shelf. With the world so saturated of books I'm becoming more selective. I no longer do an automatic pre-order.
I feel the same about Hanna Karlzon. I didn't get the last few books. Same stuff really. I like JBs books but I don't get the pages of little cakes etc. Not my thing. Her books have gone a bit cutesie of late.. I have full respect for the artists though but guess I'm losing interest 😊
Stencils for the open spaces in Johanna B pages K,that’s an idea ❤
Yes, will be using that idea, thanks!
such a brilliant haul, Love it ☺☺

Yes, I still really like her art work and the paper int hem too 😊

Oh no, so sorry about that! I’m disappointed when that happens, when you cannot get a product because it doesn’t ship to where you are.
@ColouringwithK It is disappointing, but I still love watching you use their products. Enjoy them ❤️
I agree about Johanna’s latest books, not my style.

We are fortunate to have a great variety of books available to us
Love your channel. You could draw a border closer to those images on the pages that have to much open space rather than filling in the whole page.
Good idea!

Have you tried using stamps on the background? It might help.😋

Agree with you, the background can be challenging, especially to think what to do with it
