    When I was 7, my grandma used to tell me stories about the WW2. When Japan invaded the Philippines. She saved a lot of peoples life, especially her mother when they were running from the soldiers & her mom slipped at a bridge. So my grandma was able to hold her moms hand & saved her. & she was very young back then. Their family all went to a mountain to hide & then suddenly my Grandma saw a soldier, so she run & told her uncle, they escaped. Stories like this is something that we should cherish and share to others. ❤

    For me my great-grandmother is my hero. My family is from Germany and near the end of the war the nazi officer from my town came to her and demanded that her sons (my grandpa and his brother) had to go to war (they were teenagers back then) but she wouldn't have it and screamed at him, in the middle of the street "You started this war on your own, so finish it on your own, without my children." To her luck the war ended a week later. As a german you had to pay the "Entnazifizierungsgebühr" (give money to the Americans so you weren't seen as a Nazi anymore). She went to pay it but they told her she didn't have to pay because she was on the list of people who were meant to be sent to a concentration camp.

    • @notAshildr
      @notAshildr 6 лет назад

      That's cool. Part of my family was from Sudetenland so they didn't have problems with that either. My other great grandfather did not return from the war until years later as he was imprisoned in france, I do not know about my great grandmother having to pay anything.

    My great grandmother escaped a concentration camp and hid in a farm house barn under the hay. She told me she had a dream and she heard a voice saying you must get out. My story of how my badass great great grandpa survived the Armenian Genocide:
    My great great grandpa survived the Armenian genocide of 1915. He was from Artvin which used to be part of Armenia but now part of Turkey. When Kurdish and Turkish soldiers attacked his village he killed one of the soldiers with his hands and took his gun then went on to protect others and take them to Georgia for protection (Javakh region). He later joined the Armenian and Turkish war of lake Van. Tsar Nicholas of Russia then captured him and put him in jail for being in a group that wanted independence for Armenia. He then got out of jail. My great great grandpa also knew excellent Turkish and used it for his advantage.
