This is my take, too! As Earth-616 is taking its final shape, Owen takes a bite out of a hamburger and says “Elsa’s new hand is badass and stays, though…”

I really hope a writer at Marvel sees this video, thinks the Elsa bloodstone Reality Warping conspiracy sounds fun, and officially adds it to the continuity. Meh... Close enough. Now, let me get my autistic rant out of the way. I can't help it. The powers that be compel me to rant about meaningless subjects in spite of literally nobody asking lmao. Personally, as someone who really likes Venture Bros, I feel like the comparison doesn't **quite** work 1-to-1. @TheSylveonSurfer it's more the nutty vs not nutty that I locked in on (i too love the Venture Bros) than it was about the 1 to 1 parallel. But you are right.
I feel like calling Cullen a villain is kind of underselling it - the dude literally hunts people for sport. Which is absolutely wild, given he's a relatively chill guy during the literal death game comic, and spends as much of his time worrying over whether the cute boy likes him as he does fighting to contain his not-at-all-metaphorical demons. And then a couple of years later, he's dressed up in fox hunting pinks, most dangerous games-ing the x-men. I guess arcade and zemo finally did what not even ulysses and a hell dimension could and screwed the kid up beyond saving!
It feels like Elsa's whole cycle is: -appears in a story of dubious canon -does something really badass that people like -the cool thing becomes canon out of sheer coolness
Well yes and no. A lot of works do kinda go with that Adam being the monster's name, but I think that's due to the religious implications as there was a lot throughout that story. Even calling him his Adam and the bride being his Eve. So yeah people will make that literal, but the original story just went with "The monster." Still, it does work. Adam Frankenstein is still a good name.
@massgunner4152 Not really. He compares himself to the biblical guy a few times (usually along the lines of "I should have been Adam why am I Lucifer") and people decided that was his name for some reason
@massgunner4152 He says "I am your creature, I am your Adam". Which isn't literally him calling himself Adam but closer to calling himself the son of Dr Frankenstein.
@jacobfoxfires964 He does refer to himself as Adam in the metaphorical sense; "I am your creature, I am your Adam". But that's less him calling himself Adam as his name and more calling himself the son of Dr Frankenstein. The first movie adaptation was the one to cement the name Adam and make him a brutish idiot instead of a well-spoken gentle giant, so it's what most went with going forward.
Me at the start of the video: Oh neat, an Elsa Bloodstone video! This oughta be cool! Me 30 minutes later: I must kill Ulysses Bloodstone with my bare hands.
Hold up, I haven't gotten that far yet. I'll get back to you on that one. Edit: Yup, nevermind, f*ck this guy! Further Edit: WTF, ULYSSES?!?! Even Further Edit: NANI-- (for Elsa's siblings' sakes) ...THE F*CK, ULYSSES?!?!
My first introduction to Elsa Bloodstone was from Marvel Strike Force, and her character campaign stood out to me so much even all these years. The plot was essentially Elsa going: "What the hell?! S.T.R.I.K.E. is off on crazy adventures and they didn't invite me?" And so she bursts into S.T.R.I.K.E.'s headquarters, beats the shit out of everyone, and Nick Fury was like: "Goddamn we were gonna recruit you" Hell, even the name of her passive is literally called "#%@$!"
Sir Superhero, you keep making videos about my new Marvel Blorbos acquired through my love of Marvel SNAP. I'm not telling you not to because this is a good thing and I want more. As soon as I'm able to, I'm gonna sub to your Patreon. You're amazing and a treasure.
@KSubsforBenk It’s a solid mobile game. Not overly demanding with its daily tasks, solid deck building, and the majority of micro transactions are purely cosmetic. It’s still a mobile game at the end of the day.
This happens so often and I love it, I have had her since I started the game and haven’t removed her since. Very simple card but I’ve always been fascinated by who exactly Elsa bloodstone was by the design and name alone. Glad to finally know who she is!
Now we also have Jentry Chau vs. The Underworld, in addition to the latest Nancy Drew adaptation. It's very surreal to have watched Jumper Lee and then watched the Nancy Drew TV series and Jentry Chau as an older man.
1:30 Well what if I don’t care that much about Elsa Bloodstone? What if I just really like your videos so I clicked without caring much about the topic? Huh? What then?
@KingOfDoma Ok, hear me out, a crossover of Elsa Bloodstone and John Constantine. Just them hunting paranormal creatures and being brittish, the idea writes itself.
Knowing that this video was coming made me come up with a conspiracy theory I’m still thinking about. Nextwave, so weird, never change… literally. Now, to address a comment I saw pop up, COULD the Bloodstone’s magical protections ALSO shield her from reality warping? Sure. But it is so incredibly funny that two people who went down a hell of a Beyonder’s creation and have access to a weird extra dimensional energy both seem to have the ability to retain their personality and body through in-world retcons POST-Nextwave. Two nickels and all that
A request to comic readers, have there been other examples of Elsa’s canon changing, particularly when disconnected from the bloodstone? Because the largest change to her canon happened in battleworld where her choker was stolen, and I wonder if there are any appearances of siblings or her history when something happens to her bloodstone hand?
As someone from Boston, Elsa is extremely fucking cool and I love her a lot. Between her and Emma, I am somewhat spiteful that the UK keeps stealing our hometown heroes.
@goroakechi6126there's a reason even if the adaptation never elaborate on it, when Emma was in her first years of University she befriended a British telepath. And because most of their conversations were by telepathy, the accent got stuck in her mind
@nilus2kthis is misinformation, both of her og writers Dan abnett, and her ghost writer gail simone both said she wasnt based off buffy, marvel wanted their own buffy in elsa but the writers didn't know anything about buffy so they threw it all out and went with their own thing, talking about the original 2001 version. Like if you actually read it you will know she's nothing like buffy , probably why Sir superhero didnt mention it either cos he read her actual comics .
37:58 I’d also believe that the bloodstone itself could also be the reason she is unaffected by reality warping as it was originally created by Eldritch beings from another reality along with many different ones being physically bonded to her body thus making a physical anchor for her to exist exactly as she was. Or even that with all these different reality things and warping events, she has become a sort of physically constant anchor that can’t be rewritten with in a cosmic sort of sense.
That's what I was thinking. Especially with the designs. She started out as a teen with a secret double life and a grounded design. Now she's a badass adult woman who fights out in the open with far more outlandish outfits
44:27 oh how incredibly on brand it is for people on the internet to get mad over Battle Royale/Hunger Games confusion like they didn't discover the BR genre through Hunger Games and only learn of its origins later themselves. You should start saying it's inspired by Fortnite instead to make them even angrier.
God I feel bad for Cullen Bloodstone, he was one of my favourites in the Avengers Arena series, and his whole thing was that, while he was linked to a monster, he himself *wasn't* one. And then, in his literal next appearance, they made him a rich a**hole mutant rac*st seemingly out of nowhere. Like, he was edgy and a bit mean in AA, but he's traumatised from two years in hell, and now stuck in another deadly situation, of course he's a bit off, why'd they have to do my boy like that 😢
Whenever I saw her randomly in stuff is always likened her to a DMC character with the whole demon/monster hunting so I'm glad to see she has the batshit lore, thousands of year old dad and the Lore Necklace too
Its also possible that the Bloodstone, do to its origins, protectet her from the reality warp, wich is why she stayed the same both when Secret Wars startet and also after. And the original Bloodstone......I guess we can consider THAT a "What If her mum took her daughter away before Ulysses Assstone could get his hands on her"
5:40 has THE SKIN The thing that I detest about the game is the every female character has to have a mandatory oversexualised skin inbeded into her options
@John1045 I agree with this While I can usually understand peoples issues with overly revealing outfits for the women, if its going equal ways and there are just as many IF NOT MORE red hot skimpy suits for the guys, then there is no issue. Equaltly matters in all things, skins included
Never heard of Elsa Bloodstone before but I wouldn’t be surprised if they retconned the bloodstone to have ALWAYS warped reality, but Elsa and Ulysses got monster-hunting boosts because that was Ulysses’ deal, and Elsa learned about it from him, neither of them would question it, but now she is just kind of experimenting with what it can do. Like is it IN her hand, or is IT her hand? Because if her hand is a magic rock that she can still manipulate with her mind as easily as a normal hand… idk I’m just rambling but it doesn’t seem like it would explicitly contradict anything, and if it came from a weird sentient rock it kind of sounds like a reality warper anyway
Fun fact, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 keeps the fun quirk of censoring her swears with Nextwave’s skulls, one of her little taunts you can buy is "Oooh, be gentle now darling, I'm a delicate ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️ flower!"
I was a bit saddened by the treatment of Bloodstone because I did have a few of his comic appearances and thought he was a cool idea. Destroying his canon legacy was harsh. On the other hand, a sassy redhead with shotguns is pretty cool as well. It's a mantle swap I can live with. Also, I enjoyed the Elsa Bloodstone in the MCU Werewolf By Night tv movie. We may see her again in Midnight Sons.
I frankly hate when things like this happen, completely destroying a character for a storyline that doesn’t even really have anything to do with their own story or characterization. Ulysses is someone who’s characterization has been permanently damaged beyond repair because a random comic decided to make a character who was his daughter, another comic warped her into a random dark comedy character, and finally a random alternate universe tie in decided to take jokes far too seriously. While certainly a more complicated example then most, stuff like this is frustrating common in longstanding media.
I get that, it is an issue in general with storytelling in comics, but I think this "twist" actually makes Ulysses more interesting, which is why I think it works in his case. His characterisation in his original series just used him as a generic good guy hero. Nothing wrong with that, but it honestly just made him bland because there were no other aspects to him besides that. But Elsas new story gave him an interesting spin, and one that is sadly shockingly real. We all have heard at least one story about a very succesfull person who is later in life revealed to have been actually a godawfull person and parent behind the curtain. People are multi facetted and have, for a lack of a better term, multiple masks they use in their day to day life. For the people saved from vile monsters Ulysses was a hero who risked his own well being for theirs without wanting anything in exchange, but to his family he acted more cruel and despicable then any of the creatures he had hunted down. It was allways about himself, always about his own desire (which was putting down "monsters" that went after humans), and everyone else had to bent to that. It makes me honestly wish that Elsa would get put into some stories that basically confront her with the legacy she adopted, like meeting people who survived thanks to her father for example.
@murphystegall5145 I'm of the opinion that in this case, Ulysses being obsessed with his monster hunting to the point of becoming a worse person is a genuinely interesting direction to go with the character. More than that, his relationship with his daughter and how she turned out *is* directly related to his own story and characterization. IDK, I am personally of the opinion that Ulysses becoming a bit of a monster is a more interesting take on a legacy character like this than, for instance, what's happening with spiderman and miles morales
@murphystegall5145 I think he was imagined as a Conan in a more modern world. He had an honor that would not include child abuse. The writers basically infused tragedy to make the new mantle swap more sympathetic and that's a cheap writing ploy. Marvel's motive is completely suspect.
5:36 In the original book, the Frankenstain Monster once refeared to himself as Frankenstain's "Adam". A lot of modern reimagenings ended up useing that as his actual name, which means this is 100% ment to be THE Frankenstains Monster
To talk about Nextwave a bit to give it some credit on one of my favorite parts, Nextwave find themselves facing a mindbender/reality warper who, if memory serves, is both a member of The Homosexuality and wears a bucket over his head. He traps each member of Nextwave in a unique, gorgeously illustrated mind-prison-alternate-reality meant to torture them. Each member's reality gas a bespoke art-style and tone. That is, all members except for Boom Boom, who in Nextwave canon is too stupid to be affected by psychics. She blows the guy up.
Elsa bloodstone is also in ultimate alliance 3 were I believe she's part of midnight Sons, and interestingly enough her personality seems to be more akin to the Saturday morning cartoon vibe then the harsh one from Secret Wars but it surprisingly works with the games tone and art style, she even has the only censored F-bomb😂
More like conan the barbarian but yeah him getting stone is similar to Vandal savage origin but He is canonically from the same timeline as conan too as conan is part of marvel lore just in its hyborian its history, conan, Ulysses, Red sonja, selene etc
I lost it at the double combo of skateboarding mindless ones and then west side story mindless ones, a then get hit by "a villain team called" The Homosexuality""
Probably, but I'm gonna hold off for a bit. The immediate hype around her will die out for now in a day or two, and I couldn't get the video made that quick, so I'll wait until closer to the full game releases later this year.
@sir_superheroMaybe if Danger herself doesn't have enough for a full video, you could wait to see what other blorbos get revealed for Tōkon and do a round-up of all of 'em?
@MrLuizillaDanger is literally the Danger Room. It could be a means to not just have the video be about her, but do a history of the Danger Room itself.
Oh Yeah I saw that and Honestly I was a somewhat obscure character like her was chosen for this game. Maybe it could cause her to come back into the comics in the near future.
Looking into the comics, the sharper image waifu bot design they made is a hell of a downgrade. Comics Danger is an absolute menace of the “do-not-fuck-with” tier
I mean, her being immune to reality warping makes sense not just for all the stuff you pointed out, but also like, the bloodstone grants several notable immunities and was originially from an eldritch terraforming meteor that probably did so via eldritch reality warping stuff. So I don't think it's the only reason, but I do think it could well have combined with everything she went through- and the hand being made of more bloodstones (maybe even ones originally from multiple realities) than just the small one on the choker prob also boosted that a little- to create the high resistance/near-immunity to reality warping that we see.
I feel like Elsa Bloodstone and Absolute Wonder Woman would have a blast together, the one thing they both love doing above all else is killing giant evil monsters
... yeah, that's honestly a fair comparison. Obscurish yet strong, and also one of the only ones who remembers one of the biggest events in the entire multiverse.
9:57 So if Bloodstone is like a weird fusion of Jonny quest or buffy the vampire slayer, Nextwave is like The Venture Bros but everyone in Team Venture is Brock
I like how she sorta occupies a same corner of the marvel universe as Blade and some other similar characters but never feels like she's trying to be a copy of any of them
Dang I thought Elsa had been around a lot longer than 2001. I started reading comics in 2008 and it seemed for years that when there were monster problems she would just guest star like Blade with vampire story archs and everyone knew her. I just thought she had been around since the 80s or 70s like Blade since she seemed to have a lot of lore but I wasnt interested in monster stories enough to look her up outside those appearances
If I wanted to acknowledge the Bloodstone comic at some point, I'd probably make a mention of Elsa having licenced her story for a TV show once upon a time. Maybe say something about the studio having cut out anything too real and having cast some blonde, Sarah Michelle Gellar type.
In all honesty haven't read Secret Wars in some time, but I believe it ends with richards remaking reality as it was. The end is actually the reveal Dooms face was healed by Reed so you could take Elsa's hand, becoming bloodstone to be Reed thought it was cool and let her keep or... that she resisted the same reality warping twice possibly more. Because no way in hell is Doom gonna just let somebody roam around freely who probably remembers Doom wasn't a god.
Yeah my first experience my first exposure to Elsa Bloodstone is Marvel Avengers Academy Yeah I felt like she was kind of a niche character Not really that obscure she had some Fame from Marvel Game she appeared prior to Rivals as well as the Werewolf By Night Special
Not once mentioning her long-running on-again-off-again romance with Jack was absolutely criminal Sir Superhero, it’s one of her most consistent character beats, she’s a monster hunter in love with a monster 😭😭😭
I'm gonna need the Nextwave Reality Warp Resistance theory to be made super explicitly canon as soon as possible, it would be so funny if Boom Boom just whipped it out at random like oh yeah this happened no worries it's cool lol
5:55 Yeah, it's also why how a lot of adaptations and films/books/games that use the character often call him Adam. It's pretty neat, even if it does get used a lot!
When the deep dive starts with the offhand mention that the character's father was an immortal ten-thousand year old hunter with a magic meteor fragment in his chest, you know you're in for some quality comics nonsense.
Re: Avengers Arena and Battle Royale- you are correct and the commenters are wrong. Arcade in the first issue explicitly attributes the idea to “a couple of kid’s books I read in the pen”. It’s hunger games.
It's kind of in conversation with both, this isn't an either-or thing. The book's logo and the cover of the first issue are direct homages to Battle Royale's poster, it's just also undeniably meant to cash in on Hunger Games and Arcade's reference is pretty obvious.
Oh god you are right, how did I never realize that before. Netflix Castlevania and Nextwave are not really comparable but they certainly have similar vibes and disrespect for preexisting characters, it is just that Castlevania takes itself seriously which really harms it past season one.
In regards to Adam: That's a reference to the original Frankenstein book where the monster said, "I'd like to be thy Adam." It's not the first time Frankenstein's monster was called that in media. For example, "I, Frankenstein". Also, did Elsa actually mention Batman?!"
This character's named Elsa? Wait... Bloodstone....Bloodgate... Elsagate...Spiderman.... Elsa and Spiderman....MARVEL RIVALS! Ferb! I know what team we're building today!
Ok i really need a cullen bloodstone vs Hulk. I know now that he is cured its u likely but i would love to see two people one a villain and one a hero who turn into monsters when angry
"I might be immune to Reality warping but I have a job(fighting monsters) so i don't really got time to think about that"
-Elsa Bloodstone (this should also be how they canonize it.)
Even better "reality what? Yknow what? I don't have time for this" *proceeds to shoot more monsters*
I imagine either Franklin Richards or molecule man just understood that a bloodstone hand was sick as hell and decided to give it to her when recreating the world
This is my take, too! As Earth-616 is taking its final shape, Owen takes a bite out of a hamburger and says “Elsa’s new hand is badass and stays, though…”

" Franklin who taught you that."

If Elsa is confirmed to be unaffected by reality warping next month, you've got no more excuses for the "you just straight up write Marvel comics" conspiracy
Marvel comics needs a book about a sewer inspector trying to map out the dozens of civilizations hiding beneath the streets of New York
oooh that could be a damage control book!
I was trying to make a list of all the notable places within the Marvel NYC sewer system. So far I've got:
Moon Girl's secret base + Devil Dinosaur's stomping grounds
Entrance to Monstropolis
Entrance to Mole Man's subterranean domain, the home of the Moloid people

Hunting grounds of feral Vermin populations after ASM (2018)'s "Hunted" arc, where the villain Vermin got the ability to rapidly reproduce asexually and escaped into the sewers
Community of civilized Vermin from the most recent Spectacular Spider-Men run, where some of the aforementioned Vermin were able to develop higher intelligence and build a small civilization where they house some of NYC's homeless population (Miles' clone brother Shift is one of their protectors!)
A population of endangered mystical sewer alligators and their "gatormancer" steward, from ASM (2018)'s tie in to Death of Dr. Strange
The Morlock Mutant tunnels, now abandoned (most of the Morlocks live in other mutant communities, and the tunnels have been repurposed into an X-Men safehouse)

Presumably some trade/escape routes for the numerous criminal organizations in NYC
That's all I've got for now...
@cingkrimson_requiem How is NYC even standing at this point? It should have collapsed already lol
oh that be so cool!!!
@cingkrimson_requiem Thanks, that's a lot of new information on the Marvel universe, and now I've got this image that There is effectively a whole new underground world/hollow Earth beneath New York stuck in my head.
I’m definitely going to clip you saying “a supervillain team named ‘the homosexuals’”
Please do!
Now if it was “the bisexuals” I would be on that team.
Reminds me of when Gwenpool tried to invite Nadia Van Dyne to a team she was trying to create, the "Ace-Force". Because they are both asexual
That was my favorite part of the bit
It's actually "The Homosexuality" which makes even more memeworthy in my book.
Elsa Bloodstone is very simple, it's everything surrounding her that's complicated
Almost like if reality were to warp around her... she wouldn't change
That’s really cool
27:51 being so immune to monster bites that a vampire biting *_you_* could cure the *_vampire_* of vampirism sounds freaking hilarious. It's something out of a comedy sketch.

I'd rather be an orphan than be a relative of Ulysses Bloodstone.
at least an orphan might get raised by Batman!
I really hope a writer at Marvel sees this video, thinks the Elsa bloodstone Reality Warping conspiracy sounds fun, and officially adds it to the continuity. You may not like it, but this is what a peak Hunter: the Reckoning character looks like.
She even dated a Garou
I can't believe it! A world of darkness reference! I'm so happy!
Hell yeah i am here for the WOD reference
I assume we're talking about CoD and not WoD Hunter? Sorry, kinda stopped following sometime after I found out what was *really* in Beast.

So what I'm getting here is that Bloodstone is Jonny Quest, and Nextwave is Venture Bros.
That's also what I got
Oh my god... you're right
Meh... Close enough.
Now, let me get my autistic rant out of the way. I can't help it. The powers that be compel me to rant about meaningless subjects in spite of literally nobody asking lmao.

Is This Ball Knowledge?
Elsa maybe being immune to reality warping is still hilarious
"Off-brand Dormammu in a gas station bathroom" 🤣
easily the best of you Nextwave wacky moments compilation
"YES! I HAVE ONE HUNDRED OF THE EARTH DOLLARS!" is my favorite line in all of Nextwave
@sir_superhero you ever time or plans on talking about my fiery Lord Dormammu?
@sir_superherobut its actually dormammu, just in avatar form since real him can't even enter Earth.
@cocoadragon8554no, pretty sure It isn't.
In the comic he calls himself Rorkannu Lord of the Dank Dimension and his personality is totally different
I feel like calling Cullen a villain is kind of underselling it - the dude literally hunts people for sport. I guess arcade and zemo finally did what not even ulysses and a hell dimension could and screwed the kid up beyond saving!
It feels like Elsa's whole cycle is:
-appears in a story of dubious canon
-does something really badass that people like
-the cool thing becomes canon out of sheer coolness
Seems simliar to Squirrel Girl
@LadyBoldly They are both redheads, have they ever appeared in the same room?
To be fair Frankenstein's monster being named Adam is what most works do
Isn't what the original Frankestein wanted himself to be called?
Well yes and no. A lot of works do kinda go with that Adam being the monster's name, but I think that's due to the religious implications as there was a lot throughout that story. Even calling him his Adam and the bride being his Eve. So yeah people will make that literal, but the original story just went with "The monster."
Still, it does work.
Real n true all my homies hate Ulysses
Hold up, I haven't gotten that far yet. I'll get back to you on that one.
Edit: Yup, nevermind, f*ck this guy!
Further Edit: WTF, ULYSSES?!?!
Even Further Edit: NANI-- (for Elsa's siblings' sakes) ...THE F*CK, ULYSSES?!?!
Dude makes Kraven look better dad
Charles Xavier, Magneto , Mystique : *Welcome to "Low bar for Parenting" Parents club, Ulysses Bloodstone*
I'm new to the Elsa lore, now I also wanna join in beating the shit out of Ulysses
Grab the Blood Stone and beat him with it
My first introduction to Elsa Bloodstone was from Marvel Strike Force, and her character campaign stood out to me so much even all these years.
The plot was essentially Elsa going: "What the hell?! S.T.R.I.K.E. is off on crazy adventures and they didn't invite me?" And so she bursts into S.T.R.I.K.E.'s headquarters, beats the shit out of everyone, and Nick Fury was like: "Goddamn we were gonna recruit you"
Hell, even the name of her passive is literally called "#%@$!"
it was Marvel Avengers Alliance for me. Man I miss that game
You sir know ball i loved that game
For me it was the Werewolf by Night special from a few years back. Still one of the best mcu projects imo.
Sir Superhero, you keep making videos about my new Marvel Blorbos acquired through my love of Marvel SNAP. I'm not telling you not to because this is a good thing and I want more. As soon as I'm able to, I'm gonna sub to your Patreon. You're amazing and a treasure.
Such an objectively correct opinion. 🙏
Apparently she got added to Rivals which is a big surprise to me, what a come up
Is Snap good ?
@KSubsforBenk It’s a solid mobile game. Not overly demanding with its daily tasks, solid deck building, and the majority of micro transactions are purely cosmetic. It’s still a mobile game at the end of the day.
This happens so often and I love it, I have had her since I started the game and haven’t removed her since. Very simple card but I’ve always been fascinated by who exactly Elsa bloodstone was by the design and name alone. Glad to finally know who she is!
"Super powered teen girl from an early 2000s Saturday morning cartoon"
JUNIPER LEE MENTIONED!!!!!!!
Now I can't unsee Elsa being voiced by Lara Jane Miller.
damn you unlocked a memory for me, I remember watching it but don't remember anything about it
Buffy The Vampire Slayer is literally here.
Huh? What then?
Then it makes us the same
Belmont with a gun, gotcha.
I was gonna say "Marvel Constantine", but we can both be right
@KingOfDoma Ok, hear me out, a crossover of Elsa Bloodstone and John Constantine. Just them hunting paranormal creatures and being brittish, the idea writes itself.
@KingOfDoma Constantine is a lot more emo about his job. Elsa keeps it simple, kill things
@KingOfDoma can you explain how she's like Constantin? We have way more accurate marvel constatine like Hellstrom, Hannibal king, etc not elsa
@comiqueromosses9132can they also kiss?
Because the largest change to her canon happened in battleworld where her choker was stolen, and I wonder if there are any appearances of siblings or her history when something happens to her bloodstone hand?
dang even the Beyonders have their Blorbos
As someone from Boston, Elsa is extremely fucking cool and I love her a lot. Between her and Emma, I am somewhat spiteful that the UK keeps stealing our hometown heroes.
But Emma wasn't raised on the UK, she just doesn't wanna admit that she's from Boston
@fabioherrera859
Some adaptations give her a British accent for no reason.
@goroakechi6126there's a reason even if the adaptation never elaborate on it, when Emma was in her first years of University she befriended a British telepath. And because most of their conversations were by telepathy, the accent got stuck in her mind
As a British person I'm sorry.
@goroakechi6126the reason is that Emma likes to pretend to be British because she thinks that makes her look more "sophisticated and elegant"
She's the love child of Laura Croft and John Constantine. Except she was adopted by Vandal Savage, and her brother is just Kraven with more steps.
She's nothing like John constatine, like nothing oh She also has a elder sister who is very old from 10,000 years ago
And she basically started out as Buffy the Vampire Slayer before they threw that version completely out
Shes more like Dante bastard sister
Honestly, Ulysses is more Doc Savage but who is explicitly written as overstepping the line.
Oooooh, all this Nextwave talk is getting me hoping for a Monica Rambeau episode…
You are a delight and a treasure, Sir! Keep it up!
I like the different tones this character has had
Scooby Doo
Rick and Morty
Resident Evil
20:25 - “Here’s The Thing though…”
…proceeds to not show us The Thing.
14:50 from Buffy to Bayonetta
That's what I was thinking. Especially with the designs. She started out as a teen with a secret double life and a grounded design. Now she's a badass adult woman who fights out in the open with far more outlandish outfits
Makes me wonder how well she'd get along with Illyana Rasputin.
Call him Aaron Stack. His robot brain needs beer.
I was straight faced tanking all of the next wave “plots” up until he said “Devil Dinosaur is the final Twist Villain” and then promptly lost it.
He ate moon boy too. He wears a suit and has a little champagne glass.
It’s delightful
God I feel bad for Cullen Bloodstone, he was one of my favourites in the Avengers Arena series, and his whole thing was that, while he was linked to a monster, he himself *wasn't* one. And then, in his literal next appearance, they made him a rich a**hole mutant rac*st seemingly out of nowhere. Like, he was edgy and a bit mean in AA, but he's traumatised from two years in hell, and now stuck in another deadly situation, of course he's a bit off, why'd they have to do my boy like that 😢
Whenever I saw her randomly in stuff is always likened her to a DMC character with the whole demon/monster hunting so I'm glad to see she has the batshit lore, thousands of year old dad and the Lore Necklace too
omg brother who got stuck in the demon dimension for trusting dad too much
Definitely looks like Trish
Truly marvels dmc
….. ok, if we ever get a new Marvel vs Capcom, I need Elsa in the roster just so she can interact with Dante.
7:20 she never fought Googam, son of Goom?
googam, son of goom is unstoppable no one can beat them
@The_Mossy_Slimethe fantastic four Did it
@pedrohenriquemoraessantos1164 propaganda
30:14 Molecule Man just liked her Battleworld design and kept it. lol
34:30 neat retcon.
Its also possible that the Bloodstone, do to its origins, protectet her from the reality warp, wich is why she stayed the same both when Secret Wars startet and also after. And the original Bloodstone......I guess we can consider THAT a "What If her mum took her daughter away before Ulysses Assstone could get his hands on her"
I would concur with the exception that we'll call that a token good Ulysses.
Oh I can't wait for the segment about whether she's an actual blonde or not lol
5:40 has THE SKIN
The thing that I detest about the game is the every female character has to have a mandatory oversexualised skin inbeded into her options
@John1045 stop being a misogynist prick, man
@John1045 I agree with this
While I can usually understand peoples issues with overly revealing outfits for the women, if its going equal ways and there are just as many IF NOT MORE red hot skimpy suits for the guys, then there is no issue.
Equaltly matters in all things, skins included
@ferni... "Waaaah Waaaahh Boobs are icky Waaaah"
That's how you sounded like
@ferni...And yet, the comic design is way more exposed
Looking through the timecards, and there’s a whole 7 minutes on Nextwave. This is gonna be a good one, folks.
7:00 Glad you mentioned the artwork in the original comic bc…yeesh.
@borderlinecrazy6444
Sure it makes elsa more interesting but I would take miles in peter parker, over the loss of peter parker to make miles better.
Edgy, Has a lot of guns, curses, uses a magic rock...
Shadow the Hedgehog?
0:40 Capcom fans: She's a *what?*
*proof of a hero intensifies*
FIRE UP THE SPITROASTS
We’re getting her the heavy bow gun as we speak.
Lin Kurasawa?
Say that again?
8:03 - I'd say it's like Shakespeare, but with lots more punching. Or maybe like Goethe, but with lots more crunching.
It's like Titanic but the boat is still floating
@Gabe600it's like Journey to the West, but they go East
NEXTWAVE is basically an Adult Swim Cartoon as a Comic book. Or Random shit happening in Megas XLR. Would love it as a Patreon video.
A megas XLR mention
IN THIS ECONOMY!!!!
It also one giant tribute to one specific Marvel thing
3:58 so ulysses is just Vandal Savage?
Glad I'm not the only one who was very heavily reminded of him.
That’s what I said!
More like conan the barbarian but yeah him getting stone is similar to Vandal savage origin but He is canonically from the same timeline as conan too as conan is part of marvel lore just in its hyborian its history, conan, Ulysses, Red sonja, selene etc
He actually cared for humanity not individuals humans including his kids so more the emperor of humanity from 40k
@chimera9818ha! He hates humanity and wants it under his iron fist
I lost it at the double combo of skateboarding mindless ones and then west side story mindless ones, a then get hit by "a villain team called" The Homosexuality""
Elsa also appeared as a playable character in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3.
36:30 Marvel : what- yea -Yeah! that was the plan all along!
10:25 i am begging, to whoever is reading this comic, to create an out of context video of Sir Superhero because *this is way too hilarious.*
Curious, Since Danger from the Xmen was revealed in Marvel Tokon, wil you cover her and her history in the future?
Ulysses sicked the parasites on her that's messed up
I mean, her being immune to reality warping makes sense not just for all the stuff you pointed out, but also like, the bloodstone grants several notable immunities and was originially from an eldritch terraforming meteor that probably did so via eldritch reality warping stuff. So I don't think it's the only reason, but I do think it could well have combined with everything she went through- and the hand being made of more bloodstones (maybe even ones originally from multiple realities) than just the small one on the choker prob also boosted that a little- to create the high resistance/near-immunity to reality warping that we see.
Considering the recent popularity of Magik - it would be cool to see a Magik video
and shes confirmed for tokon, we need this
He might be waiting until the end of Magik and Colossus to make a video
I feel like Elsa Bloodstone and Absolute Wonder Woman would have a blast together, the one thing they both love doing above all else is killing giant evil monsters
Seeing how Nextwave is getting a section on this video, any chance you could talk about the Beyond Corporation?
Elsa was also in Ultimate Alliance 3 btw! Really neat to see her there.
Ulysses Bloodstone is in the runner up for worst Marvel parent and it's not even close
If he Is the runner up doesn't that implies he Is clóse to the Winner?
I'm guessing Brian Banner is taking home the gold for being the worst parent in Marvel?
One could make the argument for Ultimate Reed Richards' dad.
He's up against Thanos, and it's uncomfortably close.
Is Odin still even in the running anymore?
Not gonna lie, I wasn't expecting her to basically be Marvel's Psycho Pirate.
... yeah, that's honestly a fair comparison. Obscurish yet strong, and also one of the only ones who remembers one of the biggest events in the entire multiverse.
NEXTWAVE was my first comic book. I still haven't fully recovered.
That’s like saying your first anime was Excel Saga. Pure madness
3:38 - Vandal Savage gonna sue somebody.
34:30 - Reverse Flash.png
"IT WAS ME, ELSA!"
Why reverse flash?
She looks like funny valentine from jojo in her original appearance 🤣 12:20
Yeah my first experience my first exposure to Elsa Bloodstone is Marvel Avengers Academy
Yeah I felt like she was kind of a niche character Not really that obscure she had some Fame from Marvel Game she appeared prior to Rivals as well as the Werewolf By Night Special
One thing the MCU "Werewolf by Night" got right: Ulysses Bloodstone ****ing sucks.
Buffy darling, she's Buffy in her first comic!
It’s worth noting that Nextwave has the same author as the Netflix Castlevania series if you need a quick reference for what Elsa is like.
Elsa's marvel rivals look makes me think of castlevania
More like Van Helsing to me
Edit: Nevermind I just remenbered because of another comment that Warren Ellis also wrote Castlevania
I got introduced to her first through Werewolf by night special. Pretty cool character.
38:53 And that's why we love you!
I just find very cool that the authors chose Adam as a name for Frankenstein's monster.
Marvels own Belmont
11:44 "Mark Millar Licks Goats"
Well at least we know what he was on while writing "Trouble"
8:53 Machine Man! Let’s go!
27:45 Did Elsa just dab?
Honestly her comics seem perfectly up my alley. Im honestly shocked that I haven't read any of her more main books up till now.
12:15 President of the United States Funny Valentine?
11:02 PLEASE TALK ABOUT THE MODOK CLAYMATION SHOW AT SOME POINT, IT'S SO GOOD
13:16 I thought that was because she was covered in demon blood or something?
Edit:
23:15 ah there it is
omg what an insane refresh pull
