Carry on, folks. Those old carburetor cars can be a wee bit fickle, but at least they can be repaired/rebuilt etc., - just takes some time and patience. Really enjoy your channel and the conversion work you’ve done on Nigel. Here’s hoping your Tassie trip is drama free mechanically and Nigel behaves himself! Happy travels - cheers from Canada.
Same here, actually I had to skip it because I didn’t want cry right now. I am from Germany, live in New Zealand and the last two weeks I was on family vacation in Thailand. My family came all the way from Germany to meet me in Thailand and we just said good bye yesterday, not knowing when we’ll see each other again. Ö I feel like I live two lives, one in Germany and one in New Zealand. It’s really hard sometimes…
Kendall, you so eloquently said how I'm feeling after returning back to Aus after my trip home. Its comforting to know that other expats are feeling the same💛
OMG Kendall, your beautiful words also made me cry. I just want to give you a big fat hug. I hope Nigel behaves in Tassie. Looking forward to watching the next episode. Stay safe guys xx
Kendall hits us with absolute poetry from the heart, then Glenn tells the Carby tale. The journey of life is so much more than work and sleep, but not everyone gets that. Keep it up. If I have to put a box of tissues on my desk though I will be mortified!
Surging power is usually a slightly blocked or stuck float valve, normally a quick fix.... it can also cause flooding while idling. My secret weapon for you is that if you get a chance to fit the older model series 2A Carby....the SOLEX, you will love that carby...a bit hard to get...and the linkage is reversed, But thats all... The first thing you should check is fuel flow, with the pipe off the carby. The strombergs off the Holdens are no use off road..ok for highway only.... The Zenith carbys tend to get warped housings, you will know when that is problem if you need Choke half out to get enough power.
Oh Kendall that was beautiful, those words so eloquently said, omg you should write a book. It takes courage to move from your homeland and it’s often a struggle missing family and friends but knowing they are only a plane trip away should soothe your soul for now. My folks immigrated from England in their early 20’s not knowing anybody or anything about Australia and now nearly 50 years later they said they wouldn’t change a thing. FaceTime has made things so much better. Stay strong and follow your heart it will never disappoint you. You got this girlfriend. Sending warm hugs 🤗
beautiful speech Kendall, a year ago I dropped a job i didnt like and left my hometown, moved to queensland which younger me could only dream of. miss my friends dearly but ive accomplished and dicovered so much since ive been here i could never regret it.
The Solex carburettor for earlier model, Is model 40-PA-10. they are not cheap, simply because they are in demand from all the owners of old LandRovers S2,S2A.
Thank you for your openness about the reality of travelling, the great joys of new adventures but the pains of being away from loved ones. I am sitting here on a cold winter night in Scotland watching your experiences in Australia and feeling so connected to your experiences. My wife and I lived for 12 years in the Sultanate of Oman in the Middle East and travelled widely in our Land Rover. Missing loved ones was very much part of our experience. Also, just to reassure you we have owned Land Rovers for over 40 years and always found then to be incredibly reliable and capable off-road. I have learnt from experience that when you buy a second hand Land Rover you have to go through an initial period of 'pain'! I think it is all about getting to know the Land Rover and sorting out any initial problems and just sticking with it! They are great vehicles with so much character and I know that Nigel will serve you very well on all your future adventures.
Wow what an adventure you two have been on! We are excited about all the challenges that owning an old land rover can bring, and hopefully enjoy the fruits of our labour as time goes on. Thanks for the comment :)
Such a heartfelt story. I’m glad you guys are back on the road. Tassie has so many great places, Bruny island is definitely worth a drive especially for surfing :)
Great camp spot! I love the Otways. So many little tracks to explore there. I’m from Warrnambool, Victoria. Hope you guys got some nice waves along the Great Ocean Road 🤙🏽
Wow guys, that was some vlog!! My van overheats every time I try to get up the freeway out of Adelaide but nothing compared to what you had to go through. Also Kendall, that was a beautiful, heartfelt monologue. As a veteran of 61 countries, I 100% know where you are coming from. So glad you just follow your heart - it's the only way to do it, but it can still hurt.
You guys are the best! Is there no end to you talents? I am loving, your inspiring story telling, videography, mechanical skill and lust for simple adventurers. I'm glad Garbs could help you out. I told you he was a legend... Joel. 😉
Thanks Joel!! We honestly couldn't have done this without you, and we're so grateful you decided to take time out of your day to help us out. You're a legend!
I have to say even though you had car troubles This was one of your best pod casts. I really loved the part you did Kendall with the talk over. As a fellow traveler everything you said was so true You gave me goose bumps. I hope you both enjoy Tassie so much. Take care Wendy
Hello Kendall, Glenn and Leo. First of all happy new year and please take us with you on your journeys in 2023. Following you for quite some time and enjoying it very much. Say hello to my family in Geelong 😆 One question though, will Kendall pick up driving lessons? I remember the vlog when Glenn got hurt really bad and someone had to drive. The new vehicle might be easier t learn to drive instead of a van. Anyhow, safe travels and looking forward to Tasmania.. Netherlands.
Happy New Year to you too! Kendall will learn to drive Nigel. He is a little more difficult to drive but there's nothing Kendall can't do. We just are waiting on a gear knob because it makes it a little tricky to change gears without a knob hahah
the California redwoods forests are stunning. The huge individual trees are magnificent. On dear. LR trouble. I did say " good luck " when you revealed it. I love them, but I'm getting to old for problems
Land Rovers- making mechanics of people since 1948. You will find there is a very strong LR community out there - AULRO is a good Aussie forum with plenty of tech knowledge. Have fun in Tassy, looking forward to viewing your travels there.
Hey Rod thanks for the feedback but we happen to enjoy making coffee as part of our morning routine. Sometimes filming mechanical repairs is tricky/not something we’re enjoying in the moment so don’t feel like filming. There are plenty of vehicle-specific channels that show repairs on here 😊
Because you both are obviously kind respectful people, you will always attract alike

They really can can't they? Thankfully we are back smooth sailing and exploring Tasmania!
@@KendallandGlenn Sweet! Enjoy your time in Tassie!
Kendall, those words of yours about family, friends, home and travel, brought me to tears. So exquisitely said.
Aww thank you Melinda that’s so kind ❤️

You 2 were so lucky to have guardian angels watching over you.
Sounds as though you'll be able to make the ferry. Happy traveling
Feeling very, very lucky!

Really touching episode. Great photography and honest sharing concerning mechanical issues. Enjoy Tassie ... love your episodes.

Lovely vids, keep travelling!
Same same bought me to tears Kendall you spoke so beautifull just keep doing what you both are doing

Absolutely love the video guys, so much inspiration.
Wild ride for a bit there! Old cars be like...
Hope you made the ferry and love your time in TAS
we related to everything you said with homesickness and thinking about whether full time travel was the right decision.
I'm sure you guys know the feeling so well too!
So beautiful ❤
Well said Kendall ❤️

They really are beautiful aren’t they! This was an issue with a brand new part being faulty, not necessarily something to do with the LR itself.
SAME!

Bring back the t3 shows how old vehicles need lots love to,show the vehicle repairs you do,some of us enjoy that instead of cups coffee being made

Grettings from jakarta INDONESIA..🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩
Australia is your friend.
Pity i have a strongberg rebuilt in the back of the landy. Its still available
Gorgeous episode guys. One day Nigel really deserves a reliable diesel engine. ( especially for water crossings.
What is better than 70 series troopy ? A 110 Defender troopy.
I need a coffee after watching this ❤❤
You know we can always make one for ya 😉
New carb broke? I believe the new carbs are trash apparently. Best to rebuild originals🤷
Beautiful words Kendall. Glad you guys are back on the move
I bet you would like to do all of this again some day.
