That was a normal happening in my area when I was a child, they happened on Friday evenings, in te summer and autumn times. a bone fire was lit in the middle of the crossroads, the music started up and the dancers took to the road and danced into the early hours of Saturday morning, the smell of the smoke from, the fire got into our clothes faces and hair we smelled of burnt turf and logs for days after, Those were great days way back then
We’re still here in Scoraiocht Lann Léire and have just celebrated our 50th anniversary this summer. Thank you so much for this amazing footage 📹 We are hoping to make a return to the cross road céilís and to bring back the tea wagon ☕️ in the near future
Absolutely. Music, dance, literature bring it all back and let it shine. It may not be considered relevant too but it is; religion as it should be; faith of our fathers holy faith we will be true to thee til death. In an age that is in the cusp of trans humanism and other atheistic horrors plus Muslim religion moving in, what our ancestors had and fought for should prevail. St. Francis was told ‘build up my Church’ and that should happen; don’t let what went wrong determine everything. Renew, reform, and bring forward what was good then and is good now. Transubstantiation as we move in the direction of a quantum age is in sync with the age so let us bring the good forward and improve on it.
@@ALavin-en1kr Exactly! Why don't we hear voices like yours in the public sphere?! We must keep our identity as a people because once it's gone from the homeplace it's gone forever. )-; An ancient root culture that is older than most in Europe and the root of a gigantic diaspora demands preservation. The forces who are engineering its demise are disingenuous as they lay the guilt trip on us thick and heavy.
