2024 Kaleidoscope Awards Recap | Celebrating Literary Excellence in Atlanta

Drone Jones Media is proud to present the highlights from the 2024 Kaleidoscope Awards for Literary Excellence, hosted by The C.T. Vivian Foundation at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta. This inspiring event celebrated the power of storytelling and honored outstanding contributors to literature that amplifies the Black experience.
This year’s honorees included:
Valerie Boyd, acclaimed biographer of Zora Neale Hurston.
Charles M. Blow, renowned New York Times columnist and bestselling author.
Jacqueline Woodson, award-winning writer and National Book Award recipient.
Hosted by Atlanta’s own Ramona DeBreaux Overstreet, the evening featured incredible performances by Justice Michael Music and spoken word by veteran actor Afemo Omilami. The event also welcomed esteemed guests, including Atlanta's Mayor, and supported the Octavia Vivian Scholarship to further the Foundation’s mission of preserving African American literature and history.
