I guess, as long as you stay cool and only defend yourself and be the first to report the cops you should be fine.
Our MMA trainer's tips on road fights : ignore fighting on the streets if possible. Keep patience, your not gonna prove anything to anyone. If you think the fight is inevitable, hit first, hit hard and get out of there asap.

Two days a ago, I sweared on person that overtook a car in front of me. The reason I did this is because I was about to overtake them. If I would have done that, this car would have hit me. Once I got close to them, I confronted them and unfortunately I sweared at them. After which, a male passenger stepped outside and started punching me in the head and face. I did not raise my hands, I was actually trying to get away and he still threw some more punches at me. As soon as I got some space a grabbed my phone and called the police and at the same time I told them that I was doing so. The man got back in the car and the lady that was behind the stirring weal started driving away. There should be cameras at that location as it all happened in front of a subway station. If anyone has any advise for me please let me know as I want this to be sorted. Also I feel deeply humiliated.
This is why my friends, you MUST install a two way dashcam in your camera or on your helmet. I've already been saved 3 times in New Delhi because of my dashcam evidence. Records both outside and inside the car.

I have a question though. For instance, someone gets into a similar brawl and both parties are hurt. If one party lodges an FIR, that doesn't mean that the police will necessarily put the other party behind bars, right? Because sometimes you don't want the other party to go to jail but you want to file an FIR to be on the safer side, just in case the other party accuses you of attempt to murder.
File your complaint and inform the police that you're doing it for the record and don't want action taken against them. That will suffice. The police won't initiate. In any case, brawls like this, you'll have to bribe the police to get them to move against the other side

Immaterial of who lodges the FIR first, it is important to have Independent witnesses who can give a statement. Also very important is to get your own injuries recorded in a government hospital and have the CMO to register the wounds and cause of wounds inflicted. Unless you have a prior criminal record and there is grievous injury inflicted with a weapon resulting in a non bailàble offence, bail is usually granted by the police itself the same day on the strength of solvent sureties. Before The Magistrate it all depends on how you tackle the Public Prosecutor. I often have a private çomplaint lodged before the Màgistrate as a counter case and get a cross FIR registered ..

It's really unfortunate and a shame for the nation if the law and order fails to bring justice to the anyone equally irrespective of poor or rich. I have not myself gone much into the cases ever but there is apparently free legal aid available at all courts where you can get free help from lawyers and also police can help. You can talk to them, and also take help from elders or good friends who might help.

Sir recently I got into such situation . It was around 4:30 am in the morning when two drunken goons attacked me and hit my head with a brick . I have got two stitches in my head and is now sitting in home . The police recorded a general diary and nothing else .I don't even know those guys . All of them were drunk and without any reason they kicked me first and out anger I slapped one after they got into a brawl with me .
Call the cop and registered your complain will be ours first priority in these situation s..

@@ajay2552 both are mutually exclusive, thats a stupid way to look at things and comparing them, both are really important in their respective use cases. Law is not Far Far important, both are very important, in their RESPECTIVE USE CASES.
I'll be brutally honest. I have been in many many fights. Before, I was the one who lost because of bullying, ganging up on me. Then I learned a few disciplines of unarmed combat. I learned that I can genuinely kill a person within a minute with my bare hands, learned to never initiate and always strike in self defence or if it is must. To choose flight over fight if the situation allows. Basically, a much more calm guy now. But still, everytime shit goes down, I tell the other person, look, we both can call groups who have nothing to do with this issue to fight over this but it's unnecessary. I even taunt the person if he's man enough and has two balls hanging between, to fight man to man, one on one because only cowards bring back a herd. And most importantly, whatever happens, no police. That's a man code, ofcourse some cowards get whooped bad and can't take it on their ego, so they end up filing an FIR.
Conclusion is, like Mr Agarwala says, leave the fight and go call the cops. It's not the generation anymore where man code works, where dignity and honour mean jackshit anymore. Most are scurrying and scared rats who would go running to the cops, so like the shitty society we live in, do what a rEsPoNsIbLe CiTiZeN is supposed to do and get yourself in favour of the law. No matter how good you're in combat, the laws have been made by weaker men who never had a knock, a proper fight or ever knew the real example of being a goddamn MAN in the first place. We have no choice but to abide by this horrendous slimy system and follow the weasely regulations these beta males created. God bless us all.

I think most probably you did something wrong which ended up in a fight and the person filed FIR against you and you got stuck in a police case. Well if it did happened then I am glad. Sir this is very serious case against animal brutality.....we did call the police but the policemen who reached at the scene directed us to go to police station for fir registration and our medical was done before the attackers we got several injuries....what chance do we have????

2. Underage who has consumed alcohol or drugs. Will the pub or bar be questioned and held responsible.
3. Can police check our vehicle and baggage.
4. Can concern person in road rage or brawl give their address or contact details or have right to remain silent.
5. Is there a facility to first go to doctor and get treated first then go with legal proceeding's.

My mother went through a situation which wasnt exactly similar to these scenarios but watching this video reminded me of that incident. She went to our grandma home and the moment after the driver parked the car some guys bashed into our car and my mom went to see what happen has happened and see two guys not even having minor injuries came to my mom and started asking 10k which was apparently excess of the damage to their scooty and if she doesnt give them the money they will file a complaint, this easily intimidated my mother and out of fear she had to give them money. In scenario like these what could be the best thing that we can do to tackle the situation?

What if I go to the police station and file my complaint but don't get any acknowledgment slip of my FIR and only an assurance from policeman that they will catch the drunk person with whom I was involved in a street fight? One week later, when I called the policeman he replied that they failed to catch the culprit even when I had shared the screenshot of vehicle number!
I tried to email to the DGP Delhi, even that didn't work. It has been two years since then and I have received no reply on my email query and nor do I think they filed my FIR. I don't think the police cares about such brawls if there is no deadbody. We are just statistics for them.

Be practical, if you are innocent and you are first person to call the police and try to file a complaint but the police don't entertain you. The police always welcome bribes, and favour the powerful. The moral of the story, jiski lathi uski bhaas.
I wasn’t able to find my bicycle in our building area, Later I came to know that secretary had sold the scrap. When I approached the secretary of our building politely asking some questions about where did you sell the scrap and when. He got angry and bashed it out on me in front of the entire committee, for obvious reasons I bashed it out on him too, later whenever I approached him for the same concern, The only thing he had to say is “chal chal kal aana” “tu merko paisa nai deta hai secretary ke kaam ka” when I asked my dad to talk upon this, but he replied me with why to get involved in this kind of matter, leave it. But This thing with secretary and other members was making me mentally exhausted and was self questioning about the whole incident which is mental torture. I hope I get some knowledge regarding how to approach legally. Irrespective of my bicycle being stolen or they had sold it, I need to come back with all the mental torture I carried for 2 months. Which affected my studies, and other things.
My guess is your parents won't support you on this and rather blame you for neglectin the cycle. Reply to me if I'm correct. Secondly I suggest don't get involved with these older people of the society. Let you dad handel it. Thirdly the chairman, secretary, watchman may become one and gang up on you and your own parents may turn against you. I suggest you mind your own business and control your tongue with members. Don't attend meetings. Let your dad attend. What is your age?

@@natureloverdude they didn’t asked me any questions. I did wrt. Where did they sold the scrap so I can talk to the people there and bring back my cycle. But they said it was a local moving scrap car person to whom they sold. But later I got to know that they were lying and the scrap was sold to a shop 5 mins away from our building.
Who will have a upper hand(so to speak) , if a third party(anonymous) reports before anyone of the 2 parties involved in the brawl?

This happened to my dad on holika day before holi in 1998. In our village Holika burning was scheduled at 2 am night with zero visibility. There was a riot(with crpf involved 45 rounds fired). My grandfather was the surpanch. My father was away for work. The complainant (other side) said he saw my dad from 50 meters distance. Mind you the time of event, the judge took 24 years to reject the case. Also it was a Harijan vs Savarn case. One of the judges said he is not able to prosecute my dad under any section of the law but since this is a cast related case he has to give some punishment. But thankfully nothing serious happened other than my father not allowed to leave the district because of regular hearing and not able to live with us for 15 years.

I know many cases upper caste individual jailed for 7 years just because the guy slapped someone for stealing but had no witnesses. This is the cause of discourse in our society. We try to stay away from them and ask them to stay away from us.
