This is Track 2 of our fabulous new album by Pearly Gates, "On A Winning Streak". My intention was to come up with a track that captured all the joy and spirit of a classic Motown-track in the vein of The Supremes and all those wonderful girl groups - dare I say, I think we succeeded really well. We recorded this on April 1, 2009, never knowing it was to be one of the last tracks we ever recorded with Clive Scott before his tragic passing. Our last sessions, however, were filled with joy and excitement like never before. I remember Pearly and I driving back to her house after that day's session - we couldn't stop playing this track over and over in the car.
On November 21, whilst completing everything for the album, we were finally able to make a little videoclip at Shepherd's Bush Studios in London, with special thanks to Alex Kemp who directed and edited the video. I hope you will all enjoy and treasure this track which I consider one of my very best songs - and as always, IF YOU LIKE THE MUSIC, PLEASE SUPPORT THE PEOPLE WHO MADE IT POSSIBLE.
