Was taken to see it for the first time, for my 14th birthday in 1969,by my grandmother who was without a doubt the hippest of the hip. Light years ahead of her times. Cool when nobody's grandmother was COOL. I've seen it numerous times since then. Have been able to pass down the love to my daughter, who also loves the show and has seen it numerous times. Waiting for my grandsons to come of age. To pass on THE HAIR LOVE. PEACE!!!
I have loved HAIR since first seeing the original in 1968 while a college student. I love the revival as well, which I saw 6 times! The first time around we were all stoned in the audience as well as on stage...that production left me feeling like I was family with the tribe! The revival was professionally staged and musically far superior, especially the band, orchestrations, and vocals. Loved going onstage for the cast party after each performance! Gavin Creel deserved to win a Tony, but had to wait another 8 years.
I once auditioned for a production of hair but didn’t get any part because I can’t sing. But one of the first things I asked them if they were going to have nudity. They said no. But I wished they performed hair. It just wasn’t meant to be.

The most brilliant show in history. I'd give half of my life to see one of the original productions!
