Great dbl zero! Congratulations on finishing up California! Altra and Injinjis are my jam. Good luck moving north with all the closures. Y’all are a great team. ☮️😍
The Wicked Tinkers. Definitely. OK, mehbe some Evanesence. Sorry you had to endure trail demons. It happens. More and more, sadly. I'm glad you mentioned it since it reminds us all to watch our 'steps'.
Yay you made it to Oregon. Not sure how many days your videos are behind, but hopefully the recent rain will help with the fires on the trail. Another GREAT video.
Congrats!! Listen to Judah & the Lion!! Did Mt. Whitney in a day a few weeks ago and had Spirit, and Scream! Playing repeat in my head…got me to the top 😊
Impressive you both did that uphill hike in such heat 🔥🥵. Agree with you, the other hikers I watched all make sure to keep quiet in camp, they will walk away from camp to talk. Thank goodness most practice politeness and good trail etiquette! Congratulations 🎉🎉 you made it to Oregon!! Another gorgeous view from camp, beautiful sunset!!! Bands Cruachan Geasa Waylander, not familiar, looked up... Anna, for your knees rey a knee brace, the come in stretchy fabrics a step up is made from dive suit material.
Congratulations on making it to Oregon!! If you don't have these bands already, Sleep and Black Sabbath should do for those elevation gains... Mazzy Star on the way down
Congrats on making it to Oregon!! Ashland is a great place to zero. I’m sure your walk out of seiad valley was hot. Just be grateful you missed the hat creek section. That is one of the hottest part of the trail aside from the aqueduct, tho not the elevation gain like coming out of seiad valley. Glad you survived. Southern Oregon is very dry. Long water carries as you probably know. Hope you got to see crater lake ok. My adventure music tends to be classical and opera. lol. We all have our unique tastes. I have a mix CD I picked up from a used record store years ago. Most of it’s not copyrighted so you can find it free anywhere. Tho some downloads I bought since I have Amazon prime music. They have a ton of free content as well. I forget most of the names but they have a lot of world music and on trips I prefer not to hear English language lyrics. lol. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Just found you since the RUclips algorithm finally understood that I want to see PCT thru-hikers rather that AT thru-hikers, given that I live next to the PCT in Central Orygun 🙄... ....in any case, subscribed now and going back to see some of your earlier adventures on this epic journey....AND gave a $10 PayPal tip to help pay for the Zero Day expenditures as you move forward toward the northern terminus. If you're not there yet, don't miss out on the pizzas at Shelter Cove Resort on Odell Lake...
Glad you found the channel. Thanks for following along! As you’ve probably seen we just missed Shelter Cove 😞. Thank you for the contribution! We’ll put it to use shortly. Cheers 🍻
Oof poor trail etiquette really bothers me. I hiked the JMT NOBO and camped at horseshoe meadows backpackers camp ground the night before. Next to me was a large group of young boys with their fathers. They took over the campground, played catch with tennis balls that were bouncing off everyone else's tents. They were loud until like midnight. Huge fire. I was a wee bit peeved 😂
Ahh yes! 😁 there's my cheers and glad the feet are better, Anna. So are hiking shoes nowadays more track shoe based with good traction? Since the older classic hiking shoe / boot, I tend to not see as much nowadays? Guess too heavy I take it.
Yeah you only see the occasional boot on a thru hiker nowadays. Trail runners are the go to. Lighter, dry quicker when wet, and tend to cause less blisters.
Soundtracks are great! Star Wars, Lord of the Rings. John Williams' work is among my favorite. I also like electronic music such as Squarepusher, Richard D. James, Autechre, The Orb, Orbital, Luke Vibert, Ceephax Acid Crew, et cetera, et cetera. Classic music: for example; Louis Armstrong, The Carpenters, John Denver, Kenny Rogers, and much more! You won't find these in any store! Why? Because they are old similar to me. 17:07 That guy has a halo!
Skipping some of the trail might be necessary for those very sensitive to the heat. I know I wouldn't be able to hike uphill in hot temperatures above 75 degrees with my SVT issues and sensitivity to the heat. So it's possible some of the hikers skipped the trail for health reasons. The lack of trail etiquette wasn't cool though.
PCT isn’t the right trail to be hiking if people can’t handle the heat. I feel like for at least half the trail we’d be lucky to get highs below 75. The desert was above 90 pretty regularly.
@@justinhitsthetrail5225 Oh wow, that's unbelievable! I'm amazed at anyone who can hike in heat above 80 degrees. I stick to running when it's 50 or 60 degrees out in the morning. I guess I won't be hiking the PCT any time soon lol.
I’m so sorry to say this….the drunk that killed my grandmother was a drinker from home. We got to bury her on Christmas Eve. Believe me, no one wants to go through that situation. Please drink responsibly or not at all.
There are assholes everywhere (why not the PCT). Those people would be the kind of people that I have had to call the cops on in my neighborhood due to the loud music till all hours of the night.

Hmm we’ll have to check them out. Thanks for the suggestion!

First Aid Kit, Sunlounger. Love your integrity. Why hike the PCT if your going to skip. Cali done... Congratulations,,,
Wooohooo congratulations making it to Oregon!! Love this so much, sorry about those hikers 🙃
Bridge of the Gods coming in hot y'all.
Never took Anna to be a metal head… 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Her brother listened to metal growing up, and then I played in a folk metal band with him for 15 years! She’s around it a lot.
@@justinhitsthetrail5225 Nice! You, I expected. We can smell our own. Ha.
8:05 Or as I heard someone on another channel say: "Hitchhike your own hike".
Haha love it! I’ll have to use that.

Thanks for the suggestions! Good luck on your thru hike next year!
Believe it or not the soundtrack to Lone Survivor
Definitely wouldn’t think to listen to that. We’ll check it out!
Toss in some Dragonforce! Maybe even some Seven Spire and Starkill. Hits that fun power metal spot.
Love some fun power metal. Good suggestions! 🤘
Yay! Glad you were able to enjoy a drink! Thanks for the cheers!
Thanks again! Cheers 🍻
Hope you’re listening to some Adavant, also.
Haha actually yes we did put some on the playlist
Hiking uphill, especially in the heat is pure torture!
Not fun. There was worse heat in the desert though. Climbs weren’t as bad though.
You’re at one of my favorite wineries in Ashland. 👍🏻👍🏻
Hopefully we can come back some time to make up the missed Oregon miles. Maybe make some stops at more Oregon wineries while we’re at it!

Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings! Folk/Blue Grass
We have some Billy Strings on there so some more bluegrass couldn’t hurt. We’ll check them out!

Uphill from Belden to Chester it was about the same, 5 weeks ago.
Sir. I've heard of all of those bands. LOL. I probably can't name one you haven't heard of! Great playlist though!
Well you’re not our average RUclips audience! 😂
Trail music: Porcupine Tree
Ohhh good call!
I’m a huge Alestorm and Nightwish fan. Try some Gloryhammer and Visions of Atlantis, which is on my symphonic/goth/folk metal playlist. 😃
+1 for Visions of Atlantis, saw them live.
Hoots! We already have some Gloryhammer on there. Visions of Atlantis is a good call!
I’ve heard most of em!!!
Nice! You’re in the minority there. In a good way.
@@justinhitsthetrail5225 I assume you’re into Washington by now. Sorry I missed you at Cascade locks
WOOOO OREGON!!! Booo to rude campmates

Oh that’s brutal! I know, in both cases, people aren’t trying to be rude, but I can’t believe the obliviousness of people some times.

you guys got me thinking. Are there any wine country hiking expeditions?
Hmmm now you have us thinking. That would be a hike we’d be into!
Great video.. Is AC/DC on your Playlist?
Love me some AC/DC! Favorite band growing up. Doesn’t quite fit the playlist vibe though.
Symphony X "The Odyseey"!!
Nice! 🤘
Try the album “Strong Alone“ by Fearless Motivation. This keeps me highly motivated while grunting along.
Well check it out!
Please listen to Battlebeast, you will not regret it!
Ohh love Battlebeast. I don’t know how we haven’t added them already!
Can't get much more Nordic Symphonic Metal than Leaves' Eyes

Nothing wrong with some good classic rock!
