The way I see it, Korra was a good character, but the story that surrounded her had noticeable room for improvement.
I do blame TV executives at the time because Korra was basically going from season to season with no idea if it would be renewed or cancelled, meaning they couldn't flesh out a longer running story and ultimately I think that's what messed with the show's quality

Wish Nick just gave them 6 to 8 seasons from the start
It would have help the writers write the sho2 so much

i'm glad i found this. i really liked korra and it made SO MUCH sense when you pointed out the thing about potential, it just clicked. i have watched a lot of hate videos (thankfully not lily orchard's) but i just couldn't bring myself to hate the show, even when i felt stupid for not doing so after nitpicking every single mistake made in this series. it is really good to see videos praising tlok without glossing over the glaring issues within it. i'm definitely gonna check out that 'fixing korra' series! i do disagree with some points, but it's more related to my principles and political affiliation rather than your media analysis. great video!
some technical recs: you can cut out the parts where you mess up the pronunciation! it may be more work but i can say that it will make it smoother. and at the end it would be good that you lowered the volume of the background songs so your voice doesn't get lost and you could try to put some background music for the whole video at the same volume so that it doesn't feel so sudden to hear a whole song with lyrics at the end. i say this actually more as a viewer than a creator, but i hope i can help even if a little if you'll keep making videos :D

I judge TLOK on a bit of a curve due to the production troubles that Nickelodean put them through. Surprisingly giving them another season, then two, then taking them off the air, and cutting the budget towards the end, etc. It's doesn't excuse a lot of the problems but puts them in context.
As someone who was there as the show was airing, I personally believe the show would have ended up a lot better with the stability that would allow for a good execution of many of these ideas.

I already achieved 60 hours on Iron Harvest. There's no point in this statement - it's just a doozy.

Idk i watched the first season. It had weird undertones of ignoring the plight of genuinely oppressed people. Like it doesn't take a lot of media literacy to realise that elemental users have higher physical and social power. Past that I wasn't that hooked with the show so I didn't watch further. I mean you can say what you want about the quality of the show but personally thats what I found really weird about the first season. Like oops the first season did a bit of a fascism, if the point was to critique "socialism", then putting down your society to somewhat represent themes of biological realism isn't doing a good job.

yes! i mean, i have watched tlok numerous times, but this is something that's always bothered me and genuinely dissapointed me. it could be said that the later seasons where bending COULD dissapear is a thing kind of changes that biological realism? but that would be a cheap cop out and, by then, the political aspect is really convoluted and not at all comparable to the political climate of season one. i find your critique very on point!
