There was some very good information about what to look for in a boot. Identifying what kind of terrain, you are planning to use them in is also very important to selecting the boot as well ie climbing up the side of mountains. I didn't hear anything mentioned about wearing socks and/or a sock liner you plan to wear while hiking on the terrain you will be climbing. Also, there are lacing techniques that can be beneficial as well in trapping your heel back preventing your foot from sliding too far forward. When selecting my boots I also had the opportunity to stand on an artificial incline in the shop to encourage your foot to slide forward/backwards to see if the fit was good enough to prevent blackening of the toes. or blisters. The person I was working with actually was sent to a seminar specifically on how to fit hiking and mountaineering boots and this was really beneficial because the boots I selected were a perfect fit and comfortable with never a blister or even a hotspot.
6:55 That tip about barely feeling te toe cap of the shoe is in contradiction with what every other fir guide say. Namely having a finger width of room between tip of toes and toe cap. While walking downhill your foot slides forward until instep is snugged against top of the shoe preventing it to slip further.
Great video. I would add that full leather Goodyear welted boots may have some initial heal slip. As the welt and flex points break in a natural curve will establish in the boot some and will “tighten” the fit somewhat. Toe room is key. A boot never stretches in length.
If the boot has no break in period it's junk. This man is standing behind a wall of glue boots, all junk! What this man is selling is the devolution in foot wear! A wall full of disposable junk! One really good pair of boots would last longer than that entire wall of glue crap!

My fit are two different sizes :( my right foot is slightly wide and slightly longer. I'm narrow in the heels and standard or slight wide in the toes.
What about condoms? Should I size up in that? If so, I would have to from a small to a medium.
