Paul DeFazio and Jon Taglianetti’s Major Milestones | Pittsburgh Penguins Equipment Staff

In the 2021.22 season, two Penguins equipment staff members reached huge milestones. Paul DeFazio, Assistant Equipment Manager, recorded his 1,500th professional hockey game on January 5, 2022. On January 8, 2022, Head Equipment Manager Jon Taglianetti recorded his 1,000th NHL game. DeFazio talks about being hired by the Penguins after working at the Iceoplex, his time with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the AHL, and what it was like returning to the NHL level. Taglianetti discusses growing up around the NHL and how an injury, which derailed his Pitt football career, led to him taking on more responsibility with the Penguins.
