    Eero Saarinen was also of a finnish decent like Alvar Aalto. His father was one of the most known architects in finland (Eliel Saarinen) and Eero Saarinen became on of the most influential and best known architects and designers in the US

      @@ape2533 On se tehny vaikka mitä. Eero Saarinen on suunnitellut lukuisia pääkonttoreita ja kuuluisia maamerkkejä yhdysvalloissa. St. Louis arch on esimerkiksi Eero Saarisen suunnittelema. puhumattakaan sitten hänen asemastaan huonekalusuunnittelussa. Eero saarisen tulppaani pöytä- ja tuoliryhmää näkee nykyäänkin kaikissa kuvastoissa ja on yhtiä kopioiduimpia huonekaluja. Charles Eames on helposti kuuluisin huonekalusuunnittelija ja Eero Saarinen oli hänen kaverinsa ja he keskenään inspiroituivat toistensa töistä. Saariselle Charles Eames oli niin tärkeä ystävä että hän nimesi oman poikansakin Eamsiksi. Voidaan siis sanoa että Saarinen on erittäin tunnustettu suunnittelija ja arkkitehti joka ansaitsee olla huonekalusuunnittelun ja arkkitehtuurin hall of famessa. Ylellä oli myös joskus Eero Saarisen urasta ja elämästä kertova dokumentti, joka oli hänen poikansa ohjaama. suosittelen katsomaan jos vielä löytyy

    So this guy invented the stool? No. Oh, well they must be more comfortable? No. So he used some crazy material? Wood. So it's a thing that already existed, that was slightly changed, and is grossly over priced? Yes. Ah, now I get why it's a "Hypebeast" thing.

    • @misouna
      @misouna 4 года назад +6

      If you watched the video and that is your opinion, I don't think you understood it. The product is called "Stool 60", and he invented the L-shape which is used in this chair and many others. When the chair was first coming out, it was not over priced, it was affordable. Nowadays you can consider it being "over priced", but since they are making them in Finland where labor is really expensive it's understandable. They hold their value and they don't break. It's the same thing with every other design-furniture: you're paying for the design and the craftsmanship. If you're paying 200 euros for a stool that is going to last you your whole life, it's not a bad deal

    • @ff-gi3ge

      Im a finn i my grandparents bought a bunch of these after the ww2. They were cheap cause they were made for anyone and artek wanted everyone to be able to enjoy design. Its not arteks fault its expensive, its capitalism.
