Following on from JaackMaate's latest video - "I PAID PSYCHIC MEDIUMS TO CONTACT MY FAKE NAN" - Jack and Alfie explain to Stevie the concept of their video, how they created a fake elderly relative and the weird behind-the-scenes of each psychic they contacted for the video.
We chat about the dark stories that had to be cut from the video, plus the possible the harm these psychic mediums could be doing to vulnerable people experiencing grief.

Hi i listened to Jack's bit on OCD yesterday and wanted to share a self help app thats completely free (my friends therapist recommended it to them and it really helped them out) its called Northumberland Self Help and is available on the app and play store. I think it would help Jack to logically understand his irrational thoughts that are completely normal... because OCD is normal! Love the podcast ❤

You should do another video, where you call the same people and ask them to explain their reasons for doing it.

Went to a live psychic show a few months back and I've never rolled my eyes so much in my life. Watching as a person who doesn't believe in it at all, it was so clear to see how she was manipulating people in the audience and feeding off of them for information. It was so infuriating to watch.

@@danmound9526 my mum is a Carer and the psychic was the daughter of one of her patients, so we got free tickets. My mum is much more open to the idea than I am and wanted me to go along to see if my opinion would change, and I thought it would be an interesting experience to see how these people work off of a live audience
Psychics are a bunch of bull. They use techniques such as cold reading.
THERE IS NO 13TH SIGN!
Due to the progression of the ages we actually move in relationship to the stars backwards 1 degree every seventy-two years (this is where we get the ages from) so our relationship to the stars will never remain constant as it’s always moving slightly backwards. So, there is something called the zodiacal wheel, which is an imaginary 360 degree circle that encompasses the earth and because there is only ever 360 degrees in a circle there can’t be a 13th astrological sign because that 360 degree circle is split into 12 different segments that take up 30 degrees - those are named after the constellations, we do not use the actual locations of the stars. In conclusion there will never be a 13th sign, it is something people put out every couple of years to confuse people who believe in horoscopes. :/

My only criticism with this channel is the intro trailer is too long for the podcast length.
I don't know what the reason is for the short pods but it's time to start making them longer lads!
The way you get these jobs is you apply to the company, tell them your experience and then you have to do a test reading over the phone, if you’re good enough they give you hours sort of like on a rota often on live chat platforms on websites, but also you’ll potentially get opportunities to do live readings on tv, for example at a certain psychic platform based in Milton Keynes....... coincidentally the studio is next door to babe station! Really the psychics on these sort of platforms don’t make all the money you pay, they are employed and really are obliged to keep you on the phone and do as much work as possible otherwise they’ll be sacked.

i wanna add; as someone who believes in astrology it goes way more in depth than you realise, its not like the shitty little posts you see on Facebook that people just find relatable, what you really wanting to look into is professional astrologers and your birth chart it what you really are, you arent just your star sign, thats pretty much the least important sign, also the 'new' sign they've added on im pretty sure it only goes for people that are born after 2016, thats what i heard anyway, also it doesnt mean all star signs get pushed back by one, its by a few degrees so you may or may not remain your star sign, just depends what day you were born. also 'they' are most likely astrolgers.
I used to be really into astrology and from my knowledge the new sign isn’t new. There are many constellations that could be “new signs” but aren’t I think it has something to do with the time spacing or whatever
Have you ever tried looking up a completely different set of sun / moon / stars etc (I'm not 100% sure how it works) to see if you can relate to them as much as your own? That's the beauty of it, it's often quite vague or at least talks about things most people feel
@@Catsandcamera yes I have, (also sorry for the late reply, don't get notified when someone comments 🙄) but I have and I definitely do not relate to them in the same way I relate to mine, they can be relatable to a degree but its never the same as reading my own.

Yo Jack you should check out the non fiction book The Men Who Stare at Goats by Jon Ronson about the U.S. Army's exploration of New Age concepts and the potential military applications of the paranormal. I think it was also turned into a film a few years back.
