I feel like we don't need a new Animal Crossing, I think we need *updates* for New Horizons. I like New Horizons, I don't need anything new. I literally restarted my island in March, I just want updates.
apart from the fact that testerup is scam they make it really hard to cash out and most things require in app purchases ect to test them

We also had carnations in white, pink and red 😭
Also when you would place flowers in your home they all had these unique and beautiful pots. The lily of the valley/jacobs latter were in a dark blue pot that sat onto of a plate in the same blue. I would literally put flowers in every room because they all looked so pretty 😅
(I'm not personally a fan of how we place flowers in doors for ACNH)
ALSO! In Wild World and New Leaf we had lucky four leaf clovers and when you picked them you could wear them in your hair or display them in your home.
In your house they would appear as a bookmark in the middle of an open book, I littered my house with clovers because I loved the item so much 😂
Kinda annoying that they just gave up on new horizons considering it was the reason I bought a switch, I am NOT buying a new console just so they can make a new animal crossing and stop updating it after 5 minutes.
I wouldn't mind if the game actually launches in a complete state, like how games used to be launched before this Live Service cancer infected the industry.
I’ve been a huge fan of animal crossing since its release on game cube. Every time a new game has come out I’ve bought the limited edition console to go with it, but like you said… I’m not spending hundreds of pounds to play a game that’s going to be left abandoned
I think people forget that the only reason NH received updates was because it released in such a bare bones state, missing so much content and important features.
That is the way they always did it though. One Animal Crossing game per console, no updates (Only NL had ONE big update, I think). It used to be a simple game, not overwhelmingly filled with constant content.
Honestly, they should have had New Horizons completely done and not add back in mechanics we had in the New Leaf base game from the get-go. They should have the whole thing ready and maybe do a thing like they did with NL where like couple of years later they release an 2.0 update to make the game even better then it already was
Regarding lag: I honestly don't think Nintendo expected players to cram their islands with stuff they way they do. But, now that they are aware the next game can allow for it.
whilst I agree, they should have had the foresight that it may happen and could have put an item limit in place to stop people placing so many items down or provide a warning that it may cause in-game performance issues/lag so people were aware of the risk
Although it’s not even just with crammed islands. My island isn’t crammed by any means but it still had frame rate drops especially when if there’s a holiday or weather event going on. I mean what did Nintendo expect when they turned AC into a decorating sim.
Agreed. People went nuts trying to cram every single inch of the island with stuff. And you couldn’t move on it, hopefully they item limit it next time
@@cuddleswithcavies9969 Yeah, I experience similar issues especially during spring or winter time in the game, my island is quite sparce compared to others but does have quite a few trees, flowers dotted around, I found it lags on my right side of the island more where my plaza building is, I did a test and emptied that side and it was still laggy during different seasons
I remember launch day of ACNH! Millions of ppl all online at once, streamer/youtuber island parties, item trade posts, pattern swaps. Oddly nostalgic. Time flies. Excited for next game! ❤

I really hope the game has more respect for the player's time than this one did. Tool durability adds nothing but frustration and wasted time. Obtaining crafting recipes is substantially more tedious than cataloging furniture ever was in the older games. Some of the recurring events take literal years to get everything (Gulliver, Redd Paintings), Isabelle's daily blog post is obnoxious, and the multiplayer.
Hoooo boy the multiplayer.
WHY. In the year of our great and glorious Lord 2020, does it take well over one minute for ONE person to get into your town? Terraria, an indie game released in 2011, does not interrupt the game to let another player join. But even if, for some reason, you MUST interrupt the game, Animal Crossing WILD WORLD is faster, and that was on vastly inferior hardware when Wi-fi wasn't nearly as ubiquitous or as fast as it is today. It's inexcusable, it's unacceptable, it's atrocious. If the next Animal Crossing does not have competent online capabilities that match or exceed 2011 standards set by indie games, I'm not buying it at all.

Would be cool, but also kinda not, because many players place items in a way to make an illusion, only working, because of that fact that you can't rotate.
Like for example, placing an item intentionally backwards to make it look like something else or making a "long bridge".
These wouldn't work anymore.

I hope we get the town vibe back, island was great but animal crossing just feels like a townsy vibe.
I really want the shop upgrades back and Gracie grace furniture. I loved the sweets series on new leaf. And I miss it. It was my fave. I also loved the other Gracie grace furniture. And bring back Celeste with her observatory. And maybe the police station? I liked the police station around. Was fun to go there for the lost and found on the GameCube and city folk. Maybe u can figure out a way to update what the police station is used for also. I'm sure there are some fun ideas out there. I just miss alot of the old stuff in old games, and would like them returned to the new game and updated so it's better then before. Ooo. And I loved the symbol stumps when u cut a tree. Especially when I found the triforce one. ❤
I want them to bring back Tortimer’s island with online play. I remember when I was 9, I made so many friends from visiting the island. I want them to bring back more elements of the previous games. I miss Gracie and her furniture and there being a comedy club… Also the upgrading of Timmy and Tommy’s store!!!
I really hope our islands get to be connected to the next game.

Bob's Gang. I haven't played New Horizons in a year. I'm hoping the next Animal Crossing game will be filled with interesting things and brings back the features the older games had.
I wouldn't mind seeing in the next AC Game being allowed to create bridges across gaps to fully expand how we play within the game, maybe the option to work under Tom Nook for a extra bells by talking to the villagers into expanding their homes out some more with you working towards having a house of your own. I think the next AC game should expand the map alongside having more Villagers within the players home town. I'm going to get the new console when it drops. #BobsGang
If shops can’t be upgraded and Gracie Grace isn’t back with actually good furniture, I don’t think I’ll care that much (will obviously still buy it 😭)
I would like bulk clothes buying from the Able Sisters - tired of going in and out of the changing room to buy different colors of the same items. But I still play, almost everyday. It is my relaxing time.
I'm hoping we get the new console by March 2025, not just the announcement. Bulk crafting is an easy thing they never added. I also like your idea to run a hotel on your island
Being able to change the island representatives is a must for me, since my old account is still the rep.
And when I say that, I mean not having to delete my old account, because I want somebody else to use it.
I really think Animal Crossing needs to be reinvented for the next title. Theyve kinda done everything now in its current form, with how NH lets you play god by terraforming and placing stuff outside.
Im just spitballing here, but I think itd be cool to have multiple villages that can open around yours that you can interact/trade with, and will develop over time just like your own. Whether or not theyd be accessible on foot is another question. If they were theyd need to figure out content to go between locations; perhaps forests/caves that have their own native characters and resources? Maybe start off on foot, and you can interconnect villages with buses or trains later for fast travel. This'd achieve adding a lot of new content without making your own village too big to the point that it feels too sprawled out, or hard to manage with too many villagers/things to do.
Id also like to see a 360° camera, personally. Itd open the door to having rotated buildings and thus, greater options for personalization.
im hoping we get a furniture creation tool, like how cool would it be to make pixel furniture you can sit on or lay down in? imagine the possibilities
3:59 - I completely missed this part and had to play it again, I was humming along to Kapp'n's song.
7:20 - 3x the RAM at more than double the speed... That can only mean good things for New Horizons players.
Here's my "dream list" for the next version of Animal Crossing:
* 3D graphics with rotatable camera, so we can walk behind buildings, see the backs of those buildings, and place buildings facing different directions
* less duplication of DIY recipes/balloon drops/tree drops/villager DIY shares you've already gotten several dozen times (over three years playing, I have only 55% of DIY recipes - C'mon, Sylvia, give me the 🤬 recipe for the Hyacinth Lamp!)
* ability to adjust audio levels within the game (background music, ambient sounds, "action" sounds)
* performance improvements for item-heavy acres (my collect-wasps-until-Flick-visits-to-make-tons-of-Bells storage space gets pretty laggy)
* in-game music players (stereos and radios) should fully mute in-game music when the item is at top volume and you're standing near it - also, I'd like the item's volume to be loud across a slightly-larger space before fading
* ability to expand villager houses, even if it's at my personal cost (Bells or Miles), since I can decorate them at my personal cost with Happy Home Paradise DLC.
* ability to import items from Pocket Camp, or the addition of older Pocket Camp items
* segregated storage system - each individual item capable of storing items has its own inventory (something I really like about Hokko Life)
* golden tools becoming unbreakable - I worked hard to earn those recipes, I think I deserve that much
* C.J. can retire from streaming and open up a fish & chips shop with Chip; pay Bells for a meal, and it acts the same as if you cooked and ate your own meal. Pascal can run the fishing tourneys, maaaaann.
* mild short-term speed buff after consuming a coffee from Brewster (perhaps after having your 2nd cup, when Brewster warns you not to drink too much coffee?)
* Label actually moving back in with her sisters at the Tailor Shop, she has one wing of the building she shares with Gracie selling boutique fashion, while Sable and Mabel sell casual clothing
* bring the Observatory back to the Museum, and of course Celeste
* bulk crafting, if crafting must exist
* ability to create a second "play area" like OG Animal Crossing (GameCube) allowed with additional memory cards (even if we were limited to a total of 2, and even if it was progress-locked to a reasonable degree)
* custom patterns placed on the ground with Island Designer shouldn't be able to be easily scuffed away with a careless button press
Things I'd like to see retained in future releases, which I have no doubt will continue (aka "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"):
* realistic environmental effects (weather, lighting, etc.)
* same lighthearted, "cartoony" graphic theme as is present throughout the franchise - with amazing attention-to-detail that adds authenticity
* compelling soundtrack that changes hourly and with special events
* "Dad Jokes" and facepalm-worthy puns
I would be the happiest if they allowed using items from pocket camp, they are so dreamy 😢
In the next game I want to feel more involved in crafting things like bridges or steps. Just grinding out bells isn't fun. I also think it needs some better duplicate protection for DIY's. It's super frustrating when you are looking for one specific DIY and you keep getting repeats of things you already have. Some way to earn holiday DIY's would be fun, too. Not just balloon hunting but an actual way to earn them from Isabelle. Some sort of daily task or whatever.
God, the DIY duplicates reminded me how insane it is that Nintendo made it possible for you to refuse a _new_ DIY recipe from a villager, but not for a repeat. Nintendo's logic baffles me.
I feel like i just bought an Oled. The backward compatibility is great, but they need to make a portage of our games perfect before i consider buying a new console.
I hope the do something with the algorithm. I've played the game since it became available and for hours and hours but still have not received all the recipes, art or even seen all the bugs. I wish the algorithm could see the hours you've played and the items you still need and start making them available for you.
I love animal crossing
I made a group of awesome internet friends thanks to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Sadly most drifted away as we all stopped playing the game and I've only been able to stay in regular contact with a few of them. Hoping that a new AC game will help bring the old gang back together.
As much as I love Animal Crossing, in particular NL, I feel the state that NH launched in, as well as some of the performance issues, has seriously damped my expectations for the next game. I think I’ll probably wait until the next game is out and rated before buying it. Which is a shame because NH was the first game I ever preordered and it was so exciting but the outcome has just really put me off doing it again.
I would only buy the new switch 2 if it had an Animal Crossing Game. I definitely will wait to see if one is released. I agree they need to improve the lag on the new switch.

For the next AC game, they need to focus less on esthetics, and "having things" and decorating, etc. and more so on the simulation aspect like previous ACs. NH villagers feel so lifeless this time around, the lack of events and games and overall just a lack of things to do aside from decorating.

I think my opinion may be unpopular based on these comments but I wish they would take a step back with Animal Crossing and make the next one more similar to the oldest games. As much as I like NH a lot, I (and lots of players) can agree on the fact that you are basically a God that controls everything all the time which kinda loses the point of the series, which was building a small cozy community, and there were a lot of pros and cons yes, but that would create the special vibes, you would respect the game’s limits and make them enjoyable. In my New Leaf town, I NEVER timetraveled or left the game without saving cause the game itself would punish you for doing so; having consequences made it fun, nowadays you control everything, villagers don’t leave, flowers don’t die, there is not a reason to enter everyday to care for your island.
With ACNH, players are capable of doing anything so the premise of respecting the game’s calm pace loses meaning for them, so they just start timetraveling and going on these massive treasure islands. If you rush the game that much of course it gets boring quickly, because that was never the point of the series.
But at this point I don’t think they can go back. The original Animal Crossing games purpose maybe is not possible anymore, these days. Gamers became too greedy, and videogame companies even more, so they will do what gets them the most sales (many of them even if that means sacrificing their game’s personality).
At least I hope they could make a New Leaf port for the new console! lol

Really disappointed that I finally get into playing animal crossing and got the oled. Now they come out saying there is a new system coming out. They never have animal crossing come out for more than one Device so inorder to play the new one you most likely have to have the newest device console. 😢

Mostly what I want from a new game are
1. Unbreakable tools - I’d be fine with a mix where you can make and start with DIY tools that break after a while, but later when you can buy tools from Nooks or make Golden tools those wouldn’t break.
2. Some late game way to easily get stuff we’ve missed - one of the most annoying things about Animal Crossing is that you can get into a situation where there’s one outfit piece or furniture or crafting recipe you want and it just never spawns. Normally this is where you try to trade with someone, but not everyone really likes trading with others and anyway online is paywalled. Honestly this is one reason I like Pocket Camp better than the mainline AC games, Pocket Camp has almost no randomness in it.
3. In general I want more of the items that have been added to Pocket Camp, like the wings and various cookie items and some more of the real world flowers they’ve had in the garden events, to be added to the main games.
Better optimization could address the lag issue, but they might also need to add a cap to the number of items that can be added.
Magnetic?! I could've used those when my son broke a pair of joycons trying to get them off my switch. Snapped one clean off and I'm lucky he didn't break the console itself.
