Low-budget movies like this looked cheap and cheesy when they were new, but after the passage of time the documentation of real-life cars and businesses and fashions and hairstyles adds a whole lot of interest to them.
I’m new here... I watched Ida Lupino’s Not Wanted last night. I enjoy old films that depict mid-century life! I enjoyed this one too. I grew up in the 50’s and 60’s, so I love looking back! Thanks for your channel. I’m subbed!
That's because she was on stage during The Bad Seed at the same time Patty Duke was supposed to be in The Bad Seed but they use Patty McCormick instead she went to school and learn acting you see anybody can make a movie even you you can jump up and down and make no dents at all but when you get on the stage you have to improvise there is no second takes when you do a live stage performance in a drama you only get one chance each and every night
Great movie, and thanks again for all these terrific movies!! Just me I guess, but I really enjoyed checking out all the great old cars and mid-century modern furniture in this movie. Love it!!!
Really interesting piece-- it's too bad people who turn to crime can't be handled differently-- I'm not naive-- I've worked with ex-cons and they were impossible to like but I think every attempt should be made to get through to them. Treating them like animals is worse than putting them to death and only creates more hate and violence. I'm sure some are just too far gone but there are lesser criminals that might still find a legitimate path. They shouldn't be thrown together with the worst of the worst.
She actually WAS in that movie! If you look closely at the face you can see the similarity as basically it's the same person however she was older here than when she appeared in the movie! It's a matter of getting older and looking slightly different in appearance. If you don't agree you can look her up on IMDb and read her credits and you will see both are in fact listed! I know it may be confusing but with a little investigative research you will discover the truth about this fun and exciting fact.
41:48 - Prison guard and criminal are wrestling around on a public sidewalk while the guard is literally waving a gun around in the air. Bystanders watch completely impassively, standing just a few feet away. Guard shoots prisoner and bystanders walk up to the two men without emotion or reaction, while others just stroll past. Uh-hunh.
How in the world did Patty McCormack end up in this movie? It's not that bad... but it's certainly low budget and packed with one-time actors.... and it was filmed in Jackson, Pontiac, and Detroit. I don't think I would have been as "noble" as Frankie was.
Sorry folks, this movie is from the early 1960s. And what change will come in 1963. Very sad!! And later, the US will see many changes. Hope I didn't destroy the mood.
What the heck are you talking about. It was much safer for people walking the streets back then when they locked crooks up. It's now, letting rapists go free that it is unsafe to walk the streets of your own town! You should be sorry. You are more worried about the plight of people who break the law than the safety of women and children. This modern world sucks but people like you think it's a progressive wonderland! It ain't so great pal!
Frankie is not a juvenile delinquent, he is 21 when he commits this crime. Half way through the movie and Patty McCormick hasn't shown up...what kind of co star is that?
Check out Patty McCormack in living color. Someone posted the movie Kathy O on youtube. The movie came out in 1958 and starred Dan Duryea. There's some good color scenes of Los Angeles in the 1950s.
@M M Yes , just look for the movie Kathy O , 1958. If you like Dan Duryea check out the old time radio show The Man From Homicide , D.D. plays a police detective tracking down homicide killers. "I don't like killers!" The show is on youtube and you can find it online on old time radio shows.
I know, right? That was before the govt had their dirty little PC hands in all our goods by taxing them to hell! I remember in 1985 (when I was a teen), the store I worked in sold cartons for $7.59 for kings and $7.69 for 100's.
I'm confused - Frankie is listed as actor Richard Meade in the credits but in other work he's listed as Meade Martin - did he go by different stage names ?
Thank you. I was wondering hoe such a handsome actor seems to have disappeared. If he changed his name to Meade Martin, THEN: Meade Martin (born 12 August 1933; age 89) was a former actor who played an unnamed crewman in the Star Trek: The Original Series second season episode "The Changeling". He filmed his scene on Tuesday 11 July 1967 at Desilu Stage 9..
My first big question was 'why would Patty McCormack be in this?" But, I see she has over 150 credits, including TV shows from the 50's to last year, so she just works. Anyway, that question was quickly replaced by 'why would the warden have a convicted rapist* work at his house, where his cute young daughter lives?' Oh, and the warden finds it impractical to know all the inmates in this huge prison, but knows very well the nature of the our star and that of the guy in the cell next to him...
"I do feel that because you came from a better family, you should be given special treatment". Yeesh... Ever notice in these older films, whenever rape allegations come up, somehow the guy accused is the victim?
So 'ol boy taps a 15 yr. old. He gets sent to the slammer. Then the warden's hot cherry daughter wants to spend the night with him... I gotta go to Michigan!
Love this drama it was very good !thank you !
Thanks for watching PizzaFLIX. May the Sauce be with you.
One of the few really talented child actors that was able to transition into adult roles. She is still acting today. Beautiful lady, wonderful actor.
Patty McCormack ... yes , I fondly remember her in a episode of "One Step Beyond" ( Make me not a witch ) 👌🏻
I love old movies and this one is amazing. Patty McCormack is so cute.
Wow!!!.
Cigarettes $2.22 a pack. Classic stuff. Could watch these 50's flicks all day. Thank you pizza flix for the upload.
Thanks for watching PizzaFLIX. May the Sauce be with you.
$2.22 per carton (10 packs).
That was probably for a carton. Even in the late sixties, from cigarette machines (more expensive), they only cost 75 cents.
Pizzaflix lightyears ahead on Netflix for entertainment. ♥️

Very well said and very true-- I enjoyed the real environment of that time and place, gave it much more emotional impact.
Yes it does

Remembering selling Pop Bottles, but I used to walk up and down by the railroad tracks, try to collect enough to buy something.
I used to do this too as a child.
Patty McCormack is a great Actress.
I agree, she was one of the greatest child actresses and as an adult she is just as good. Always great in everything I see her in.

Thank you Pizza Fix, another great movie.
What a treasure! Love the sleazy music although it is a bit off. Thanks for this gem!
Love these J.D. dramas. Wish i could find Young and Dangerous starring Mark Damon, a really hard movie to find.
"A prosecutor''s duty is to enforce the law." What a concept!
Enjoyed this very much. Thanks for the offering.
I heartily concur !

A very nice and interesting movie

Good Movie, I really like these kind of Movies. Probably was a B Movie playing with something else. Good Drive in Movie.
Thank you a very good movie 😊👍
Late 1930s-1940s born teenagers.

Good movie. Could you play, "The Bad Seed" with Patty McCormick. It's a good movie when Patty was about 10 yrs old. 🐸
Why Rhoda, why?? Tell me! You've got to tell your mother!

The intro music is sick!
So someone left a 4-year-old kid in the back of a car and just walked off, leaving the keys in the ignition! Some parenting skills!
That kid was me, I was 5 years old....and my father was the director!
That music during the starting credits starts like the original Twilight tune.
32:15 "You think I'm looking at you like you're a freak in the circus?" "No, I think you're looking at me because you think I'm hot."

A very early 1960s movie. Everything in the neighborhoods are so orderly and neat. A, B movie. The acting could have been better, though.
Anna Sophia Rob reminds me of her.
Have you ever posted “The Bad Seed”? i LOVE that movie!
The studio has rights, won't allow it.
Frankie need hisself a psychiatric hospital not a prison..
How did MST3K ever miss this?

I wonder if actors Richard Meade and Meade Martin are the same cuz they do look alike? ... would anyone here know? 🤔
I'm confused - Frankie is listed as actor Richard Meade in the credits but in other work he's listed as Meade Martin - did he go by different stage names ?
I think that's because there was already an actor by the name of Richard Meade so he changed his to Meade Martin.
