    If you wanna have some fun with those halfbeaks, regularly drop some fruit flies on the surface. They don't do this with flake foods for some reason but live foods get them to develop some hunting behavior and they start skimming the surface with their mouth protruding the water like a shark fin looking for something to snap down on :)

    For the 55, you can buy a new piece of trim and rip and replace the trim. Much cheaper than buying a new tank.

  • @anad44

    My favs are the Face Tank and the 27 gallon cube. I have a 29 Biocube the is starting to fill with plants. I like a jammed tank where the fish just pop into sight and disappear. I just got back into the hobby after 15 years with just koi ponds. Technology has come a long way! I’ve seen all your videos edumakational and entertaining.

  • @LarixLyalliiAlpine
    @LarixLyalliiAlpine 5 лет назад

    I love your steampunk tank, the Into the Woods tank, and your dirted 55 a lot. 😄 Every time I watch your videos I get ideas for my own tanks, which is tough because I have a toddler that takes up all of my time now! (Although he loves watching the goldfish we have. The planted tank doesn't interest him because there are no fish in it right now)

  • @scottm9164

    I think the Face tank is our favorite. Great colors, great plant and fish choices and looks well thought out.

    Of all the folks I follow, your videos are always a favorite. I love your tanks. I especially like how you seem to have such variety of fish in them. I tend to stick with 1 or 2 types but yours have so much variation and just cool fish everywhere. It really makes me want to add some more fish to mine.

  • @dentednj

    You can change any tank to a black water tank and then change your mind later with water changes and taking the leaves out. I add leaves occasionally for their beneficial qualities and eventually they breakdown as snail food and after a few water changes the water is light again. It's not a big deal to change what you already have.

  • @mrek2068

    Beautiful aquariums, well maintained and clean, unlike a lot of "tour style" videos. I love planted aquariums as they replicate the fishes natural habitat in most cases. Excellent work.

  • @shesellsfish
    @shesellsfish 5 лет назад +1

    I love it when you do a tour of all your tanks. The steampunk is still my favorite, but you've got new tanks and new scapes coming up...so who knows what I'll end up in love with and insanely jealous over, lol.

    Hi, i love your videos and stories. Aquarium related more than shoping/unboxing ones though. Love your attitude and quality of videos. I found your youtube after your talk with Mike from massaquariums in some older livestreams. My favourite tanks of yours were into the woods before it overgrew. And dirted tank. I love dirted tanks. While watching todays video i found myself thinking that i would love to sneak through your cd collection more than through your aquariums :)
    Good luck, thank you for the entertainment :)

    I love the overgrown, jungle look. I keep hoping my crypts will decide they like my water and grow huge! I stole your cholla wood trees idea and made some trees for my dinosaur tank. I enjoy dark water tanks. I have several that I have my bettas in.

    What a beautiful fish room. Love all the plants!

  • @dentednj
    @dentednj 5 лет назад +1

    If you use a fish that is more interactive with you for the steampunk tank it may be better. The fish will come up to the window to watch you. A couple of dwarf electric blue rams would compliment the glowing light you have inside and be easy to see in the dark areas of the tank. They also like a darker tank to breed and they don't fight with each other as much.

    i really like the idea of the big tank, it must be a lot harder to look after...if there is some sort of chemical problem with a big tank it must be a lot worse to deal with...(personally i only keep goldfish but they are incredibly dirty).

    I prefer topless blackwater tanks. That way you can have a ton of riparian growth to make up for the lack of plants underwater. Also, the roots can drop down and form extra hardscape.

    I found you when I was looking for ideas for a Victorian looking tank so I added stream punk and there you were. I have a Victorian living room room so I need something less modern.. I had already found a place to get portholes I was going for an undersea look..sand a few tall grass plants a few stones ..my daughter thought about glow fish..but I would like to start out with a 10g..so I think something smaller but sea fish looking..🤔🤔🤔..its still in the playing about stage..I love your heavily planted tanks I have started growing out plants for my 10g soon to be betta guppy tank..and a new 20g male guppy tank I had a lot of yellow tailed males born and I think they would look cool with a few neons..

    My favorites are the "Into the Woods" tank and the BIG planted tank. Not much a fan of the blood parrot though. Man-made hybrids like blood parrots and flowerhorns kind of ruin the whole natural feel of an otherwise natural-looking planted tank.

    those LED's buddy - they should have a better heat sink and probably there is too much current not distributed properly across the array. I would check to see if you can replace the driver - it could be too powerful. Also check to see if they have used thermal paste instead of glue.

    I LOVE the dwarf sag jungle in the spec V. It inspired me to rescape my spec V with the hopes it would turn into something similar! The dwarf sag hasn't taken off too strongly yet, but I still have my fingers crossed. Can I ask how long you keep the lights on in your spec V?
    I'm really looking forward to seeing a blackwater tank in the future!
    Thanks for sharing all your aquariums!
