With my work and family life I find myself doing more dry fire training than actually going to the range. I grew up shooting long guns, didn’t really get into shooting pistols till about 10 years ago. I know I can hit what I’m aiming at so the hours spent at home practicing presentation, holstering, reload it comes in handy when I actually get to the range.
Nice 👍. Get you a foam pad on that ARP buffer tube my friend. More comfortable when you Face Brace it ... If it slides around to much i wrap some thick tape around buffer tube (only under the foam at the end) to might it a tight fit.
I carry between the 2:30 and 3. I tried appendix carry... most uncomfortable thing possible. It's fine when standing and walking. But super uncomfortable if you ever sit down. Just sitting there getting jammed in the stomic by the grip and slide. And I am not a overweight person at all.
Carry everyday OWB 3:00 cuz I like my junk... I need my junk...! Carry a Glock and trust fully that it will never go off without me pulling the trigger, but it is a mechanical device and they do fail... I will never carry it pointing at my fun parts all day...!!!
Appendix is faster but it’s not comfy the moment you have a dad bod or any sort of tummy. It’s also not comfy once you sit, or bend over, or go to the bathroom.... Also, NEVER, carry an unloaded weapon. EVER. There is zero reason for it.
The way I look at it take all of your handguns to the range and carry the one that you can shoot best at 15 yards everything you would ever need it for in an emergency will happen at that distance or closer for me. I carry a Sigg P3 20 with a spare mag appendix I am 6’1” and 140 pounds and with my tier 1 concealment holster you can’t see any of that on me and I work at a machine shop. I do have to watch the type of clothes that I wear and how I tuck in my shirt and what I wear over that, but the most important thing carry the gun that you can hit the target with. Don’t carry some thing you can’t hit the broadside of a barn with.
3 o'clock works best. Maybe I could try appendix carry, but it would have to be a good comfortable holster, as a guy, I just can't imagine how shoving 3lb of steel down my front will be comfortable, especially bending over
@@NCWoodlandRoamer in the two months since I wrote that I've looked into appendix in depth, and I think it makes sense for women, but for men it's insane. Reality of anatomy, your either pointing the barrel at a testical or a thigh. I see a lot of denial on that, point.
@@letsgobrandon416 Yes, I think there is a lot of denial on how terribly uncomfortable it is also, especially when bending over for any reason and not to mention the reasons that you state. I really have no trouble concealing a Glock 43 in a low profile OWB holster and it is so much more comfortable than any IWB option.
Being a police officer I go EVERYWHERE with my weapon. However, having said that I NEVER do any type of open carry when off duty. I do not want to give away my status as an officer or a carrier if a weapon. Also, I Mexican carry all the time. Been doing so for 27 years but just sticking it in my paints waistline. Old school still works!!
Why not talk about the options that DO NOT cause you to buy oversized pants ?? Ankle holsters Sneeky Pete or other outside waistband Shoulder holsters Etc I don’t ALWAYS carry so buying two sets of pants is out of the question. It was good as far as it went but too narrow a focus - better title - Which IWB carry do we prefer.
I carry 4 o'clock. I tried appendix for a year but like on the right side better. I've seen where people have fired the handgun while holstering or bending over which depressed the trigger. One case the bullet went through his abdomen, rectrum, hit the pelvis bone, then the concrete floor.
Unless they have metal detectors and someone there to arrest me for carrying I have a gun on me and normally if they do have those things I don't go. Luckily for me I live in a gun loving state so even if you're not supposed to have a gun there's nobody there to enforce it.
good quality leather whiter it be a holster or a saddle, will take care, good leather creams, will make a good quality leather holster can last several lifetimes!!! Vaya Con Dios
In my little corner of Paradise, quite a few years back, I saw (I was leaving from a breakfast business meeting and it happened from say, 30 m away on the same sidewalk...) a known local political personality been attacked from behind by a lone sicario (as far as I can tell any way...) in the street, bright mid morning, embassies and expensive nice hotels neighborhood, who got hold of the victim's own pistol carried at 4 o'clock under a suit coat (I mean everyone's way to carry then, really) and shot it twice into the victim's head before anyone understood what had happened, less so do anything about it, or the security detail gunning the sicario down right there and then... it was a never seen before event and all over town for a couple of weeks. Also most people locally concluded that on top of it been a commandeered hit obviously (DUH!), it was "the worst of lucks". Period. I mean, there's a big cultural thing over here about things always happening because God wills them to happen the way they happen, sort of like it's useless to bother, because there's nothing to do about it any way?... IT freaked me out of my mind (to the point of having a nightmare or two?..) and I immediately started looking into a better way to EDC, for ME... So around that timeframe, some international security contractors introduced me to the AOWB type of carry they often used for VIP protection details. It was NOT a great way to carry concealed (envision a low backward cant, sort of cross-draw holster carried in front of the wrong hip?) and it was NOT comfortable either, but it was a better way to keep track/control of my pistol at ALL TIME than anything else I had seen until then. It allowed for superstitiously low visibility "non telegraphed", sort of sneaky pre-positioned draw if you will. And it was also lightning fast to first shot on target! Fast forward, enters the purposely built AIWB and that basically did take care of most if not all, the shortcomings of the AOWB and became my almost only way of EDC method, to this day. So, yeah... need to be careful on how to re-holster and it's not fool proof, but then again nothing really is.
Great Video !

I just started carrying and am finding the exact same thing
Appendix iwb for everyday use

Always prefer appendix personally, just seems to be the most comfortable for me.
3 to 5 o'clock iwb, depending on how the belt loops are configured on which type of jeans I'm wearing that day.

Don't bother trying appendix. I've tried it and I don't care what anyone says, it SUCKS. And yes I've tried multiple quality holsters.

Wow. You need some serious weapons training and this speaks volumes of why police have so many accidents.
What make/model do you mexican carry if you dont mind me asking?

The 15 round mag for the 43 X is made by shield arms.

Darwin greets every appendix carrier personally.
#trexarms holsters rock.
You carried an empty gun on your person for a week, with a ccw in your wallet.
That boggles my mind.

Im too fat to appendix carry, 5 o’clock carry if I have a jacket. Since I seldom wear shorts, ankle holster. Is my other option. Usually condition 3
If you carry daily you should have a heightened sense of situational awareness.
Shouldn’t you?
Great topic, good job, but I’m still waiting. I have been for months.
