I from Hawaii , ewa beach and u making a video about Hawaii means the world. Waikiki is a place my mom took me as a kid. I live in a forgein county and only can go to Hawaii every summer to see my family. Thank you for this ❤❤❤
Our first morning after flying in from NY we were awake so early. We are six hours ahead! That’s why so many are out in AM. Plus the sunburn risk is lower. 🌞
I appreciate the effort you put into narrating your Waikiki Now videos! Always informative and the reason why I always watch yours. Mahalo! 😎 🤙 Have you considered doing a "things to do in Hawaii when it's raining" series? The idea came to me during your walk.
Hawaiian rains(ua=ooh-wah)particularly in winter months, is unlike rain on the U.S. mainland. It's not as cold as mainland rainfall but when the average daily temp. is low/mid 70s, the wind/rain can seem rather chilly. Suggest you pack light weather/windbreaker jacket and/or hoodie, or if you live close to lakes or rivers, rain-slicker-type jacket would suffice. For evenings, dress slacks or jeans would work also
Hawaii is so amazing.I actually came to Waikiki with my family around 10 days later and wow it’s so cool! We got to see fireworks for a 25th floor in a hotel. The 8 hour flight from (NOT REVEALING MY COUNTRY) was so worth it
Loved your video, was great and had good information. Was actually on island staying at the Moana when you did this so I was real excited to see your video and think.....hey, I was just there. Loved the parade (an unexpected surprise) and enjoyed many of the spots you pointed out. Looking forward to getting a place on island and being there all the time! Mahalo! 🤙🤙🤙
Outriggers reef resort is where I was I left Oct 11th i was there for my bday. Omg I can’t wait to come back. I loved there live music I sat on my balcony every time they started if I wasn’t on the strip.
Awesome you are gonna show what’s happening at night. The virtual walk through just reminded me of what I’m missing . Can’t wait to return in late November. Crowds have decreased from the last time I was there in spring. Great video again Mahalo
Good call! Will do that in the next video. Making a "Waikiki Now" at Night to post up next Sunday (10/23). Have had a few subscribers curious about what Waikiki looks like in the evenings. Stay tuned! 😊
Thanks for watching! This week, I'll be making one for the WAIKIKI NOW series but in the evening to show what Waikiki looks like in the evening. Stay tuned!
We are coming to Oahu next month for the first time, staying at Outrigger Reef. Your video really helped to what is nearby. I think we won't feel so lost now.
Nice ! I’m going the second week of November. Weather forecast says it will be raining. Is it warm and raining or should I take a large jacket? In Mexico it will rain but like it’s still warm. Don’t want to pack extra if it’s not needed. Many thanks !
WOW what an amazing video! You are so informative i love it, was really enjoyable to watch bought back so many happy memories for me!!! I have been to hawaii so many times and didn't come across some of the beautiful walks you showed, thank you for that. Not to complain but i did notice on occasion that when you were pointing out hotels and sights to your left and right you didn't film them just kept the camera shooting straight ahead? Fantastic narration though and i will look forward to seeing more!! Mahalo
Depends on what you’re looking for. Here’s a video that might help: ruclips.net/video/JsMvwHcSMMQ/видео.html. I’ve got a couple other ones on the Activities playlist too! 😊 hope it helps!
Thank you so much for your wonderful video! I really enjoyed it. and I can't wait to go to Hawaii! I know there is a lot of construction going on in Ala Moana and Kaka'ako. How about Waikiki? thank you!
Thank you for such informative videos. We are planning to go to waikki and wanted to know how the weather is like at the end of November. Could it be rainy?
I hope it’s ok to ask but could you please point the camera at the item you’re pointing out like the Hyatt Waikiki and Roy’s and such. It would nice to see what it looks like besides hearing “it’s on the left” and such. Thanks so much!
Happy to provide an opposing opinion. Just visited Waikiki for first time in 30 years. Stunned by the over commercialisation everywhere you look. Only about 20% of beach space available, without having to rent a chair. Large catamarans blasting through swimmers for their next load of paying customers. Zero safety . As soon as it gets dark, the Main Street turns into Fremont st Las Vegas or Times Square. No longer paradise for me.
Nope. Waikiki was even worse 30years. Still crank & ice head sneaky beachboys there hum? They stole my cellphone back then. Suck a _ucked up spot. However, nature is awesome though. 🖖😜👍🎉🗼🏔️🙏🙇🎃
Previously, non-residents have had to pay $1.00pp cash-only. In Mid-May 2022, Diamond Head started its online reservation system and is now $5.00pp (reservation only, no walk-ins). Hawaii Residents w/ Hawaii ID have always been free.
I googled the best month to come to Hawaii is October, but my family members are available in September so we came in last month. Recognized international market place and Moana surf rider’s hotels. The international market place has been changed by many luxury shops instead opened market.
I’m wondering if it’s legal for tourists to fish in Hawaii and where are the best spots for those in Oahu? Please let me know if anyone knows! I’m trying to do as much research as I could before I plan my trip.
The best option might be do do a fishing boat tour since they'll provide all the gear & take you where you need to go. You can do bottom fishing or even deep-sea fishing.
They used to play Pickleball there but covid closed it down. Don’t know if the feds allowed it to come back yet. Last I heard it was still closed for Pickleball. But you can go over to Diamond Head Tennis courts and they have open play Pickleball every morning till about 1:00 or 2:00 pm!
@@tsarina24honolulu87 Maybe the heat from the sun makes it less noticeable or difference in what each person thinks of as cold or warm. Either way, nice little area!
I've noticed that NONE of the videos I've seen so far at least show or mention the HUGE homeless problem especially around Waikiki. Plus the shock of prices, and what I can best describe as mediocre food... This was not what I expected. The natural beauty, and scuba diving, and snorkeling was great and we even got to see a baby monk seal and many Hawaiian turtles. But overall, I don't think people are painting a realistic picture of Oahu. Just my opinion.
In general, Hawaii is more expensive as everything has to be shipped over though this might be a good video idea comparing pricing between here and specific areas on the mainland. I do think living here does change what one considers “normal” pricing. When I visited a friend in NYC specifically within Manhattan, I found the price pretty comparable to Hawaii depending on where we went. Like most places, there are affordable places everywhere. I do think homelessness here can be the same as major cities depending on where you go & I intentionally do not film them (and if in the video, I always crop out if I notice it during the edit) - not to paint an unrealistic picture but rather out of respect. I have always been taught that it is incredibly disrespectful to film or photograph someone who is already down on their luck whether it be though homelessness or mental illness or a combination of both. These people are someone’s mother, father, brother, sister, auntie, uncle, etc. RUclips is a public platform and once a video is posted, it is up pretty much forever. Similarly, I also edit/cut out children that may be in the background of my walking videos in videos as well. Although it is a public space in Waikiki where I usually film these Waikiki Now videos, I want to respect that not everyone wants their kid on a public platform like RUclips. However this doesn’t mean that there aren’t any kids vacationing with families. Thank you for watching and your feedback!
Definitely the jetty in front of Outrigger Reef for low-key looking at sea creatures with children (low tide) and the occasional Honu sightings (high tide)
When we were there a couple of weeks ago we walked from the Harbor all the way to where we were staying at the Sheraton Waikiki. We loved the view at Kahanamoku Beach. From the boats heading out to the surfers, the view was beautiful. But there really isnt a "bad place" on that entire strip! Oh by the way, we were the couple that had the pleasure of saying hi to you in the ABC store! It was cool to meet you after watching almost all your videos before our trip. Keep up the great work! We wished afterwards that we had gotten a picture with you lol
Nice video, and good you are captioning locations, but I'd say it's a bit too long and takes away from the natural ambiance of walking through waikiki.
Lol thanks for the feedback! Last time, people were in the comments asking a million times what time it was filmed at…even though I mentioned the time & put it in the description box. This time people say it’s said /too/ much or it’s misleading to film in the morning. Can’t please everyone 🤷🏻♀️
Yep! I noticed in my other videos, I had seen a lot of comments asking what time the video is filmed b/c I think some viewers skip around the time stamps. There's a comment on this video actually where someone says it's misleading to show that it's so empty....even though you're right, I do say the time (early morning) multiple times ☀
Filming in the early morning is so misleading! This area is a zoo with tons of people. Very overcrowded. I live here.....where are all the homeless people?
Aloha Michelita! Thanks for watching. I say multiple times that it’s EARLY morning and it gets a lot MORE crowded throughout the day. Throughout the video, I also say that mornings are best to avoid crowds in general. So, I don’t think it’s misleading at all. Thank you for the feedback bc for a comment like this, it means I must not have said it enough times. I put in the video the date/time as well as in the description. I’m not sure how to answer your question. There weren’t any houseless people along my walk that morning. But, even if there were, I wouldn’t film them. I feel like doing so would be inappropriate as these are people down on their luck already.

It’s only about seven thirty in the morning haahhahah
