- Teachers have joined thousands of public sector workers for the biggest day of strike action in more than a decade. The majority of state schools in England and Wales will be fully or partly closed, as train and bus drivers, university lecturers and civil servants also walk out. Members of the National Education Union, whose ranks have been swelled by 40,000 new members in the last fortnight, are asking for an inflation-busting pay rise.

Only one day. If this was a school report, in BIG RED LETTERS must try harder
They had two years stress free and 80% of their wage paid, they’re delusional and wouldn’t know a days graft if it fell on them from a thousand feet!
‘they’re’
If it's such a cushy job, why are teachers leaving the profession in record numbers?
Maybe because they aren't willing to push CRT, gender studies and other Clownworld subjects. Maybe they have a functioning moral compass.
@@facecuck9953 just because you’re obsessed about something doesn’t mean everyone else is
The problem is our countries would rather fund war than education.
And so be it.
All we do is work, work, work and when we get paid at the end of the month, the money we have left over after rent, mortgage, insurance, goes to camera fines, parking permits, ulez zones, congestion charge zones, tv licence, several tire punctures because of pot holes from our shitty roads, getting robbed by 9 year olds with samurai swords begger then them, then we start the process All over again. The good life.
The sad thing is you have no idea how poor "those that don't live in the UK" actually are. The GOOD LIFE is NOT starving or suffering from malnutrition, not being forced to drink contaminated water, not being enslaved or sex-trafficked, not trying to stay alive in a war zone, not watching your loved ones dying around you, not worrying if your child will be safe walking to school. Strive to be happy in the non-material, or you never will be.

@@kelvinlambert4249 That's a bit "holier than thou" Kevin. The rest of the world is not all a third world hell hole. In fact large areas of the "third" world are free from poverty but I think you know that he was comparing like-for-like (i.e. the developed Western world). There are obviously problems around the planet but it's silly to think that when the guy ends up living on his overdraught at the end of the month, as so so many British people have to, that they should all say to themselves and their family "Oh look on the bright side, at least you haven't been sold off on the human traffic trade".

Precarious pay is becoming a global trend.
American people work with no welfare system and you will, too. Life won't be so long.
I fully agree, more pay for public funded workers. But with - one clause-.... Just one. Mind you*. Centralised and Local Government workers. LOSE THE PERK OF TAX PAYER FUNDED FINAL SALARY......... PENSIONS*
Nah don’t worry 99%percent of use hate school and we don’t learn anything anyway for example my school employee people who look like they got out of crack dens
School can be privatized. You don't have to go! American people showed you.

*Qualified teacher salary*
England (excluding London) and Wales - £28,000 to £38,810
London - £29,344 to £40,083 (fringes), £32,407 to £43,193 (outer), £34,502 to £44,756 (inner)
Scotland - £33,729 to £42,336
Northern Ireland - £24,137 to £41,094
Teachers work term times only and get paid a full annual wage. Let that sink in
The lowest paid are sanitation workers and they're all at work..that tells you something 🤣
Worse than Australian wages and more tax. I was once offered to teach in London, but figured I'd be bleeding out of my savings if I did.
@@henrytang2203 Australia has a huge ton of natural resources just like Saudi. Money flows freely there and usa has a global currency. UK only has a few oil rigs in the North Sea...and I'd say we are doing well by having more tech coming out of our unis then the ones down under 🤣

@@thegoat11111 I agree I walked into a mid six figure salary and I'm not even an English speaking native. The education level in the UK today is shocking to the point that if it was ran as a private entity teachers would be getting sacked. It's been dropping ranks for the last 15 years so it's got nothing to do with inflation. If teachers had a higher level of education then maybe the kids would learn stuff and larger companies wouldn't need to head hunt abroad as you'd have UK talent.

As tax payers we are paying their salaries and many of us have never used their service. Living economically is an art and clearly they haven't learnt the art, despite the demonstration signboard.
But in theory you will benefit from the well rounded, well educated, members of society that they produce. If they were run properly, that is.
Never used their service ?
Do you not have children or ever go to school?
Well atleast if you haven't, just like the NHS just because you don't get sick it doesn't mean you shouldn't pay into it.
If you prefer everything to become privatise that's fine. But just know that if education went down the same route of corporate greed there are plenty who would pay. Private schools, Tutoring and tuition centres are profitable for a reason.
You might not see the value but then again maybe it's because of the lack of service you recieved.
As tax payers we are actually paying more to the elites in charge of this country every year. They dodge tax and fund their corrupt buddies and to hell with our society. The picture is much bigger so don’t blame the workers.
@@nickthebubble4060 Agreed, the real funny thing is some of the people who join their band waggen of siding against workers. Despite them being workers themselves, and almost always quoting their own salaries being lower.
And ofcourse this is because they are far less qualified or educated to make the same money as teachers or nurses. Some how that's a justification for them not to get a pay rise, because they get paid less. Jealous little gits who skipped school, didn't go to college after 16 and didn't get a degree.
Not that a degree is the answer to everything it by far is not. However the uneducated fools who speak and use this as their reason are just green with envy and too stupid too realise the government peddles this ideology to them through the news and they lap it up like a dog sipping on its own vomit.
The biggest driver for inflation is profits, salary increases makes up only a small percentage of inflation compared to profits made. Yet the Conservative refuse to tax profits of energy companies for example because they "create jobs" or they "invest" when we can see rhat they haven't invested anything they just rake in profits and barely invest into the countries infrastructure. Too bad these people are too stupid or have too much sheep DNA in them to realise they're being reared like farm stock by these politicians and other elites. Just look at the LBC call today about teachers. Caller called in against it, despite his own wife being a teacher, and without filled he quoted that his wife earns almost 40k while he earns less as a lorient driver. Yes mate she has a minimum of two degrees all you have is a driving licence dumb tard.
