For those of you who don't like the look of regular masking tape, you can buy green floral tape instead. I wouldn't be surprised if colored masking tape exists tbh. But floral wire and tape are both available at dollar stores and other discount places. Masking tape can also be colored/painted with most any marker or paint that will work on construction or other coarse art papers. Depending on its sturdiness, I also wouldn't rule out some higher quality washi tapes too. Very cheap washi tapes tend to tear easily and not be as tacky as masking tape.
Washi tape is very similar to masking tape and could be used, too, I would think
Floral tape also comes in white. It does have a sticky residue however, and the fibers of the completed "feathers" could stick to it.
Walmart usually Carrie’s all sorts of masking tape in a variety of colours. Also patterned duck tape

Love this as a replacement for feathers. There are very few cruelty free places to get feathers, and the process is terrible for the animals. Will definitely incorporate this into my designs
