Cam Ward made Horton. Horton going to be average as the day is long .

@dannyroman6438 I wouldn't go that far. Cam had a part but Horton has developed into a very good WR. He will be missed if we can't get him to stay.

Every problem on a team isn’t always coaches fault, these players have a hand in this too! These players don’t always put in the extra time to make themselves or the team better, some of these young men have been playing football all they’re life, some even year round, it all comes down to doing the little things like studying your playbook, studying your opponents, knowing where to be and just doing your job, it’s not hard folks especially when you do something year round! The problem is attitude, smoking weed, entitlement and just pure wanto, a lot of these guys just don’t have it, too soft and lazy(due to smoking) so consider that and what these coaches have to deal with before you blame them

  • @manuelesoto23

You have to think about transferring when the coach is looking in the portal for your position. Transfers just have a leg up on depth chart.

Please stop with the Elija Lofton to RB nonsense. I dont doubt that he could play there but why would you with guys like Lyle, Fletcher, Pringle, Wheatley Humphrey, and maybe Allen if he stays?
Getting Xavier Lucas and Charles Brantley should be the #1priority for this staff. We desperately need to beat out Illinois for Brantley. As for Lucas, Miami is considered a favorite but we need to close! Get those 2 with the addition of Humphrey from Idaho or Karnley from Arizona and we are in excellent shape at CB. Then add Adrian Wilson at Safety to go with Zechariah Poyser and we will have successfully transformed this entire secondary with great young prospects in place for depth and the future.
I also wholeheartedly agree with the kid who said that we are not developing TEs. He's absolutely right as Arroyo was a stud from the very beginning under Diaz. What the kid missed is that it is not just TEs its most of the team outside of WR, RB, and OL that do not seem to be developing. It's time to take a good look at this staff of what is basically a bunch of recruiters and evaluate their ability or inability to teach and develop. Replacing DC Guidry and DB coach Jackson are no brainers. We need an elite DC in particular and a better staff in terms of teaching, x's and o's and developing in general.
Adding Brockermeyer at Center would be a very good get still I look at players like Rodriguez and Francavilla and wonder why they dont seem to be getting their opportunities.
Getting a commitment from WR CJ Daniels was huge and it will be bigger if Daniels can get past the heel injury that slowed him down this season at LSU. IMO the staff needs to re-sign Isaiah Horton and find any way possible to close the deal with Concepcion. A healthy Daniels, Horton and Concepcion with youngsters Trader, Carr, Joseph and Robinson would have the makings of a nationally elite group.
With a WR room like above we would be fine with Emory Williams, Fernando Mendoza or whoever the staff decides to bring in.

Kids don't want to sit. They want to play right away. They think the grass is always greener on the otherside of the fence. Then you have kids like Mendoza that wasn't highly recruited but develops and wants to move on for a better team and the money. So teams like Cal are left needing a QB. Look at whose in the portal and you see teams losing players like this. Some that Miami is trying to sign.

I think Mario put all his eggs in the 2024 basket: Winning the ACC would lead to top recruiting. If that was the plan it didn’t work. Graduation and the portal are draining our depth. 2025 doesn’t look good. Opening with ND we’ll get crunched.

The defensive collapse killed Miami . Especially the last half of the season. Losing to a good, not great Syracuse team was losing 2 games at once. Wasted a great Cam Ward. Mario needs to learn that defense wins Championships. Can t have a swiss cheese defense to play complimentary ( team ) ball against our opponents. Wish Guidry would be fired… because he s not it.

Texas Longhorns who had the number 3 ranked class in 2023 so far has had 7 players enter the portal since that class signed. Same as Georgia, you could probably expect more once their playoff run is done

Just checked , Georgia's 2023 recruiting class that was ranked number 2 overall has had 7 players from that class enter the portal since they signed. Probably will be more after Georgia 's playoff run is over. When I get time I'll check ohio state's 2023 class next. Don't think doing Bama would be a fair comparison because they had a head coach change

With the portal you are gonna have guys leave. All the kids you get in each class some don't work out . Like draft picks . Also these days these kids do not want to wait. So they move on . They actually need to keep portal move to 1 per 4 yrs. Now with juco not counting maybe more kids get time playing in juco then move up

Kids and Parents loosing confidence in the coaching Staff. Parents are heavily involved in these decisions and if I was a parent it looks like there's some favoritism going on. There is no way that Kiko and Jaden Harris should of stayed as Starters the whole year after repeated poor performance throughout the season

You guys are very naive! Don’t you realize how important it is to be a Cane. These players you’re talking about renting for a year or maybe 2, hate Miami! They’re coming for money ! Look at those worthless portal defensive standouts that sucked. You guys thought they were studs !!! These portal crap players are not pros that can move from team to team. You are destroying great recruiting classes with this nonsense ! You are watching collapse of UM ! I’m a fan since l Lou Saban

It's funny that you talk about development and opportunities for the WRs. There's been no opportunities for the Mario recruited WRs in 3 years. We have no WR on the roster recruited by Mario with any significant playing time in his tenure st Miami. The development and opportunities that you speak of have been a fallacy.
I predicted the coaches would portal over the current WRs on the roster, and that's exactly what's happening. Such a waste of WR talent on the roster to sit, not get meaningful snaps, and then get portaled over for experienced players. Insane!!!
