Just to clarify, Church of England Marriage Registers changed with the passing of the Marriage Act of 1754. Before that date marriage records were kept with Baptisms and Burials. After that date they were kept in separate registers with pre-printed forms, which contained additional information, such as the names of the Witnesses and sometimes the Banns were kept in the same register. From the introduction of Civil Registration on 1st July 1837 the format of the Church Marriage Registers changed so that they were the same as the Civil Registers and contained a lot more useful information such as the fathers of the Groom and Bride, occupations, and place of residence. These Registers are still in use today. Baptism and Burial records after 1813 were kept in separate registers which are usually pre-printed forms and these are still in use today but were not affected by the introduction of Civil Registration in 1837, which introduced Birth and Death registration as well as Civil Marriages.
The easiest way is to use the "Any Event" field, type in a specific location and mark it exact. Then click search. That will show you a complete list of all records associated with that location, if they exist in this specific database.
At 9:46 in the video you show the California Birth, Marriage and Death Records from 1849 to 1980. You also show the Stanislaus County Birth record's range from 1846 to 1905. Why wouldn't the heading be from 1846 to 1980? Someone looking for a record from 1846 through 1848 might breeze past this repository. Enjoyed the video - thanks.
Good catch, Mitch. Turns out there is only one birth record for 1846 for Stanislaus County in this database and none for 1847 or 1848. So, the decision was made to label the country with 1846 so people browsing would have an idea it existed but not to label the entire database that way so people didn't get frustrated looking for 1846-1848 birth records that don't exist.
This video doesn't come with closed captions/subtitles. Anyone who is Deaf/Hard of Hearing/DeafBlind followers are not able to follow what you are talking out. Is it possible to add it here and future videos? Many thx.
This is available now to all. When you are viewing the profile page of an individual, you can hover your mouse over the names of any of their parents, siblings, spouses, or children on the far right and the "EDIT" box will appear. Click on the word EDIT to get the quick edit box to pop up.
The quick edit comes up when I really want to open the person's profile. It would be nice to have a 'full profile' button, instead of clicking once, clicking twice, trying to get the thing open. It's a nuisance, actually.
The quick edit can only be clicked if your mouse is in the top right corner of the box. Clicking anywhere else in the box will open up the profile. Hope that helps.
That is unusual, Ashleigh. I would suggest contacting our Member Services department to have them take a look at your account. You can reach them at 1-800-Ancestry.
Thank you for making these presentations, I get more information the more I watch them.
This really helps me find what I am looking for.
As always, great information. Thanks Crista

Thanks for the clarification, Gerry.
Thank you Crista.
4:48 for site changes. Everything up to that point is upcoming events.
With the Extracted Parish Records for Scotland how can I see what parishes are included and what range of dates are available for each parish?

Roni, if you select the ... next to the thumbs up/thumbs down buttons below the video, it will open a menu where you can select transcript.
That quick edit thing appears to be just what I needed, when is it supposed to be available cause I can't get it to appear in my tree?

Great video, but the people of Derbyshire will be wincing at your pronunciation of their county.
