I've bought several of these bags for myself and my son's over the years. I removed the rivets that attached the buckles and remounted it with a small threated screw and bolt. I done away with the magnets altogether. I can sninch the straps down good now. I love the pack. It's just the right size for what I can carry in weight. I'm in the woods every week, year round. It's a tough pack for sure.
I see these bags on Ali, I have a Bradly Mountain Wilder copy bag coming in a few weeks, I hear some people epoxying the magnets on the main compartment so you have to use the buckles and it prevents quick access for a little more security when in public from shady folks, but keep some of the other pockets with the magnets for quick access
I've read some comments here and seen other videos of people doing that. Two of our magnets have come off so will need to sort this out but buckles look sturdy
You are going down the trail, or the street, in style, when you are wearing that! My first rucksack was canvas and leather that I got from my uncle, about Korean War era (1950s). That makes me feel very nostalgic! Actually, the magnets seem like a fantastic idea, to make it more functional but keep the styling. I'd rate it 5/5 on style, but agree on 3.5 functional, so 4.25 for me!
Thanks Jay and Mary - I agree, it's looks very good, and magnets are convenient - but if you're expecting robust compression straps then this bag is not for you 🙂
very helpful. Found you searching for WUDON Leather Backpack for Men, Waxed Canvas Shoulder Rucksack Carry-On Travel Backpack - a general resemblance. If your product is good this one is likely to be.
Just an FYI the straps are starting to tear away and we are going to sew them on with some HD needles. They don't last indefinitely but the bag is beautiful and worth the effort 😊
@@GeoterricsOutdoorsAustralia for the money i ordered it for last night I demand better. Frankly compromised as reviews say the magnets come off. Decided to invest plenty so i can spend less down the line. Thanks for the input. The biggest use is expected to be heavy grocery. Report back on the needles.
@@GeoterricsOutdoorsAustralia Correction to down under. Wasn't Wudon. Rather a Huachen extra large backpack. Leather, rustic with straps similar to your own.
Thanks for the comment Ryan - I don't like the clips much either. In a previous comment by Spec4 gi he mentions sewing them on, and that's what I'm going to try. I bought some leatherworking tools cheap on line and I'll see how it goes
Looks like a very smart pack bag. I love the cosmetics straps. 😂 I do hope you enjoy your new pack, love it. Remember one new item in the house and out with the old. Great review.
Interesting video that I enjoyed watching, thank you. I would just like to ask that after using it now, how do you still feel about it? I must admit that I’m not all sure about them magnetic buttons.

Brilliant advice, thanks gi. I'll try that myself 👍😊
I might just do the same my only real issue with this pack is the magnets

Beautiful bag. Can’t go wrong with a waxed canvas. Looks and durability can’t be beat!
Thanks bro - I notice on your site and insta you have a similar pack
@@GeoterricsOutdoorsAustralia haha yeah I have a slight addiction to buying waxed canvas packs by Frost River.

I honestly have been wanting one like this but, id rather not have the magnetic clips at least not on the main pouch

Thanks for the question John - still love it but one magnetic buckle has pulled out - it would be so much better with real buckles 😉
Beautiful looking for running around town. 3.75 is a fair rate I think 🤔
Thank you sir!
