Thanks for the video! I replaced that exact door knob. Your tips helped me on how to remove it! Also, how to remove the factory rectangular plate and replace it with the included round plate. Mission accomplished! Thanks again!
You might try this video- search for "Remove door handle / knob without screws visible" by "billshowto". Basically if you rotate the know a little bit you can see a flathead appears, and thats what you want to turn to remove the knob. I don't have those kind of jobs, just what I saw in the other video.
I have this exact doorknob now the question is if somehow someway I were to lock myself out of my bed room how do I unlock from outside? I see a hole in bottom but I’ve had no luck with a small flat head. Thx
Man, I thought the door knobs on our home were dated. Mine did have visible screws, but the knobs are definitely dated and the strike plate is round vs rectangle. I can't find the round strike plate and may refinish and reuse the old ones, but if new ones are cheap I'll just buy them and save time.
Wow I have old style stike plate and cylinder are one and strike plate cylinder has ears on end that attach to door knob cylinder if that makes sense????

My issue isn't that I need to replace the doorknob. I just purchased a home with these types of knobs and my daughter locked us out of one of the rooms because she pushed the pin button from the inside and closed the door from the outside.
I was able to get in! I used a screw driver like the butter knife or card technique and it pooped right open. Lol I was starting to think it was the true master lock😂
@@clararose6223 hey there, I'm in the same boat right now. My daughter pressed the bathroom button and shut the door. Any videos that helped you pop it open or elaborate how u did it? Much appreciate it, thanks!!
Lost some audio during the video. I could not remove the internal lock part on the door, would not wiggle out of the lock contact hole? Will try again. Thanks.
That first step (to get the actual knob off) would not work for me. I had to pry the plate loose that's touching the door, then rotate it so that the hole for the lock button matched the location of the top and bottom screws so that I coud get to them with a screwdriver. Once they were out, it came off.

I want that “dated” doorknob: for my home it looks 1000% better then the ‘new” up to date piece of garbage! Thanks, at least for showing me how to remove that superior design for restoration!
Omg I was seconds from grabbing the hammer and beat it to death!!! Thank you!!!!!
That small metal but we press in with a flathead. That’s the golden ticket right there. Thank you
You are a life saver! Thank you so much from a single mom renting from an elderly landlord! Saved me a call!
you have the best videos ! others leave vital steps and info out of theirs plus they have cheeky intros that don't matter so...... THANKS !!!
You have such a gentle touch.
Thanks for the video
thank you much! this doorknob was a lot easier to take out than the newer doorknob on my bedroom door. though the latch was a toughie to remove.
thank you!! people like you are nothing short of saints, to people like me!!
Thank you, you saved me from taking a hammer and bashing apart old door knob to remove it!!!!!
0:26 my doorknob does not have this hole. what do i do to remove it
Thanks for this video, it helped me install a similar doorknob!
Nice Tee, happy the video helped!
Much thanks!! I would have never figured it out myself. 👍🏼
Such a helpful video. I literally had to change the exact door knob.

It would be nice if you would answer the question about if you can't get the slot to push in😢😢😢😢

Great job on explaining everything. Thanks for sharing.
I would have never found the tab on the rotating assembly, all my answers were in the first 10 seconds of the video- thanks!

Does anyone know what this doorknob is called? I have them all over my house and missing a few but can’t find the name for the style…
Weslock
Thanks for sharing your expertise with us. I wish you had a section on what to do if your old doorknob will not come apart.
Thanks, this saved my project!
Thank you!! Very helpful!!
Ty this'll save me a lot of hammering
Very informative video dear friend thanks
How do I put the handle back on the older style? I had one come off when it got pulled on would like to reassemble it
This is a great video!!!
Finally now if I buy a doorknob, my parents cannot burst in the room without knocking 24/7
Thank you!
It’s a Weslock tulip model!
This video really helped a lot!!
Thank you. I literally was working on this thing for 20 minutes then found your video. 😂
thank you, very helpful bidep=o
My pin wont push in no matter how hard I push. Is my doorknob broken??
Thank you so much ❤
Saved me a lot of time
Thanks Dude!!
Thank you.
I'm trying to put the old bedroom door knob back on but I can't seem to remember how latch lines up with the knob

I need to replace with the same type WITHOUT screws. Video didn't work for me
Saved the day! I was using a flat head at an angle to remove the screws!!!

What kind of doorknob was that, which was replaced?
this is late but that’s a Westlock Tulip model it’s discontinued
OK, but what if the piece you push with the screwdriver does not move at all??? Now what? There is also a tiny round hole, what's that for?

I'm in the same boat right now with our bathroom😭 Did you ever get it opened?
@@clararose6223 Unfortunately no. My husband ended up having to smash the knob off and then just fix the door with a whole new knob.

@@sskewl91 use a screw driver. Stick it in between the door and frame right where the door know is and then push and pull the screw driver towards you
Mine does not have a slot and it seems impossible to remove. I want to send you a picture maybe you can help me

I have been trying for 3 months to get my old gold know off. There is not a slot for a flat head only a little pinhole.!!

I had one like that. I took a thin nail and a hammer and was able to push it in and pull off the knob.
Thank you very helpful!
why my doorknob doesn't have that littlt slot? i cant open it .
well i have no idea what you just did because there’s no audio
Mine has no holes at all!
If it came off that easily I wouldn’t be struggling so fucking hard! The plate has shifted and doesnt line up

Every body made a video to remove these knobs but nobody knows how to install them.
My door knob won't come off no matter what. UGHHHH. I am about to lose my everliving mind.
I was messing up my doorknob trying to get it off. I even watched this video and still couldn't (at first).
I'm a special kind of stupid.
Thank you!
