Mutation Testing in Python

Hi, when I run the mut.py --target ............ command then a file "mut.py" opens up in my editor with below code and nothing happens.
import sys
from mutpy import commandline
if __name__ == '__main__':
commandline.main(sys.argv)
Could you please help me to know what I am doing wrong ?

Change the default application for .py to python.
It is opening in the editor because the default for .py files is ur editor
