The game seems interesting but the recycle mechanic makes it so I don't even want to try it. I prefer the freedom of moving everything for free, even if you placed it in a previous turn.
Hey! I'm the developer of this game and first of all thanks for the feedback. Second, the recycle mechanic was intended to do two things: 1. Prevent players from slowing down the game a ton by refactoring their entire factory every level up 2. Reinforce the roguelike-ness of the game by slowly locking you into your build That being said this has been such a common issue with the game that I've been working on an update to get rid of the mechanic while still keeping a bit of the two points I mentioned. So stayed tuned for a future patch to the demo!
@@curried_functor I'm fine with the recycle mechanic, but I feel like you need something like 3 guaranteed free recycling per round, that also adds up over time if you don't spend them.
@@curried_functor I think it's very cool that you're taking critique from a youtube comments section. maybe you can have this be the default and have "freecycling mode" as a difficulty option?
This game looks great. Also it seemed like your conveyors get pretty clogged up by all the low tier spells, I guess you need to try to make as many stronger spells as possible rather than spamming the weak ones
Looks like one strategy is to get as many belts as possible, then you can fill your factory, buy a totem and it can only spawn where you want, then delete all the belts every buy phase for free.
@@curried_functor Just saw that you are the dev. I meant no offense, I just am a Factorio type of player that focuses on efficiency and optimization and that is simply how I would play in order to avoid random immovable objects that would block optimal layouts. The game/concept does look very cool :)
Yeah kinda looks like they threw a scanline filter on to mask super simple graphics (black hole cannonballs), but I imagine this is a single dev/small team so I can't blame them! Hopefully gets a visual upgrade when they've got the resources.
Daily reminder that Tom is an amazing person and to thank him for all he has done/will do - Day 1838 Ok, what a super cool way to do a Survivorlike, I honestly love it so much :D Very much hyped to see more, espesually the full game Nope, Tom is right, we shall call them Ice Circles now Honestly, that Hedgehog looks so cute and snug in there, I wouldn't move him even if I could
PSA for fellow Tom fans. Vampire Survivors is the free game today (19th Dec) on the Epic Game store however I think it's only available for 1 day as we appear to be in daily free game territory in the run up to Christmas instead of weekly. Given it was a great Tom game on the channel I thought I would put the word out.
Please stop giving free promotion to the cancer that is the EGS. Also Vampire Survivors is literally $3.49, not exactly the most expensive game out there.
I will say that constructing your own factory to produce spells is a very innovative method to incorperate an upgrade system. Well done devs!
It's kinda crazy to see how many other genres have a way to assemble themselves into the Survivor-like setup.

Yeah, the limited removals makes it feel like it's punishing experimentation when that's the one unique twist

@@curried_functor stick with the gameplay in the video but call it hardmode

I love the ideas combined to make this and the music is just bitchin'.
Tom not using a main bus like a psychopath
It looks like belt speed was the bottleneck starting about halfway through this playthrough.

I don't think it quite pulls it off, but it's a fun idea! The drab aesthetics let it down a lot.

game has pretty dope beats.
This is such a cool twist on a very saturated bullet heaven genre, very cool!!

Awesome job in this one. Well played.

you are the goat
Good sir, i hope that you are blessed this holiday season by the OmniTom itself!
But we are still boycotting EGS...
Giving away "free" games it literally just part of their way of luring people back in.

Thank you!!
This is cool thanks for sharing papa
BAM!!!
BLAMMO!!
BAM!
Watching someone play a game so terribly that you have to buy it just to prove a point is the best sales strategy I have ever seen.
man wish i could play/download this right now as steam servers have died xD
Love to watch more of this with your devil may care charisma and casual misplays 😊😅
Hey, Tom, I want you to know you got me hopelessly addicted to Vampire Survivors!

Looks interesting
Wham!
