- In today's episode of Blueprint Explosive Exclusive with Rahul Shivshankar we will be discussing on Rahul Gandhi confronted at Cambridge 'Union of States' remark. Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was caught flat footed during his recent interaction with Cambridge students when one of the participants addressed him over his rehashed declaration that "India isn't a nation but a union of states."
Siddharth Verma, a Civil Servant with the IRTS Association and a researcher in open strategy at Cambridge, accosted Rahul Gandhi over his steady refrain that India isn't a nation but a union of states.
"Don't you think as a political leader, your idea of India is not only fraud & incorrect but also destructive", Siddharth Verma can be heard asking Rahul Gandhi in the viral video.
"To say that India is merely an artificial political entity that came into being just 75 years ago is whitewashing rich cultural heritage & our values. History tells us that it was never a problem of integrating the people. It was more of a 'political negotiation.", said Siddharth Verma.
"In our constitution, India is not described as a nation but as a union of states", said Rahul Gandhi at Cambridge after which he was confronted by Siddharth Verma on his remark.

"Union of States" only refers to states as the largest administrative units comprising India, the nation. Nation is indestructible and States can be broken or merged - as per Indian constitution. The remark of Rahul Gandhi which tried to define India not as a nation but as a "union of states" is therefore mischievous and unconstitutional. As far as Cambridge or Oxford universities are concerned, they have quality as well as a very strong colonial background which persists even today. That is why they were trying to silence or humiliate Mr Verma who asked a brilliant question positing its relevance amidst very valid examples from the politics and culture of India. While states can be broken, reorganized by alternation of boundaries, the country is a union which cannot be broken. Central Government can change the name, boundaries of the states without their permission also. That is why Dr. B R Ambedkar called India as an "indestructible Union of destructible states.

Sirji, the meaning of the first stanza of jana gana (first stanza which is national anthem) is in the subsequent stanzas. Also there are countless videos that have analyzed all these stanzas in great detail.
