    a tip: use baby powder before you apply the wax, cause it will remove the oil from your skin and hair, and the hairs can stuck more in the wax

      Pudovkiin . well you need to heat it a little before using it.but it should not be so hot as to burn your skin.it sounds to me like you boiled the mixture for a little to long.

    I've been sugaring for over 20 years. You should always apply the sugar in the direction of hair growth and pull the strip back along itself parallel to the skin, against the hair growth. You should also hold the skin taught at the end of the strip as you are pulling the strip backwards.

      Actually not too offend or anything but it’s the other way round you add it against the growth and remove in the direction of growth as it is an accent Egyptian method of hair removal it has been passed down in my family for generations and other families and then the rest of the world found out about it

    • @reinako5190
      @reinako5190 5 лет назад

      Sorry but it’s actually the opposite way. You should apply it the opposite direction of hair growth and remove it in the same direction

    This method is being used for centuries in Middle Eastern countries and Asia you don't have to apply in the opposite direction of hair. I am a beauty therapist and we always apply wax in the direction of hair and pull back in opposite direction.

      Shaving is so dumb to me. You’re making your hair grow THICKER and DARKER! At least waxing thins the hair out and eventually damages the follicles so it stops growing

    I had honey, so I compared the colour side by side and it was dead on :) cooked it at medium heat, when it started to bubble like mad I simmered it. Took 15 minutes to get the honey colour. :)
    Update after an hour of making: this recipe gave me enough to do 1 full leg. It worked so well! Currently making more for my other leg lol. It doesn't pull your skin, so it's really nice, no typical wax cringe when you remove it. :) It gets sticky, but the good news is all you have to do is wash your hands without using those oily wax strips! Wax strips are easy, cut cotton shirt into strips and voila! Wash in hot water and re-use!

  • @krissymagee8835
    @krissymagee8835 8 лет назад +14

    I followed the recipe as stated in the video and it turned out perfectly. It was the same color and consistency as used in the Spa I go to for my waxing. if your used to getting waxed it was easy to do and not painful at all for my first time doing it myself. Never again will I pay to wax underarms, or legs... Not quite ready to do my own Brazilian though!

    The sugaring technique applies the sugar in the opposite direction of waxing. The result is that you're removing the hair against the grain. This direction allows the sugar to adhere more efficiently to the hair and pulls cleaner from the root when removing the hair.
    I have friends who are Persian which is also what they use and they said when done with a cloth then it's done the same as traditional but the strip free method is done in the opposite direction of hair growth rather than in the direction of hair growth and then is removed in the direction of hair growth, making is less likely to snap the hairs, pulls it from the root properly and reduces the risk of ingrown hairs.

    • @magicalgoddesscosmetics7603
      @magicalgoddesscosmetics7603 2 года назад

      So if I want to do strip sugaring I would do it the same as how traditional wax is ? Applied with the hair growth and removed in opposite direction ? I have been getting mixed information. I’m really into sugaring but I want to start off using strips and I want to be sure I’m applying it correctly. I’ve noticed that the DIY sugar kits sold in stores that come with the strips also apply with the hair growth and remove in opposite direction. Is this correct?

    • @libertygilmore6850

      ody sugaring hair removal/"waxing" reduces breakage, unnecessary discomfort, irritation and ingrown hairs while exfoliating dead skin cells. The natural sugar paste/"wax" is applied with gloved hands against the growth, seeping gently into the follicle to support the hair to allow it to slide out comfortably in the natural direction of growth.

      pamela alfanta I'm sorry, but I don't know the answer for your second question.

    • @clarkha99
      @clarkha99 9 лет назад

      +pamela alfanta It sounds like you're talking about "hard" sugar wax, which many people prefer because you don't need to obtain and then discard tons of fabric strips; you just use the same ball of sugar wax over again on different body regions.

    • @clarkha99
      @clarkha99 9 лет назад

      +pamela alfanta The sugar wax starts out clear, and you knead/pull/fold and repeat over and over until the wax is more opaque. This is done with certain types of candies, such as with taffy, and in this case is called "taffy pulling." This aerates the wax by incorporating tiny air bubbles into the caramel. Through heating, you are changing the molecular composition of the sugar from crystalline solid into a malleable semisolid form, and the kneading/pulling changes the setup of the sugar still further.

      +Raymira Butler maybe you didn't cook it long enough. It took a while for my wax to turn amber color. I made it with 1cup sugar and it took almost 15 minutes boiling on low heat

    Hi, do i have to reheat the wax if i wanna use the next day? thank you

    Omg I have no idea what I did wrong... So I've never waxed before, I made the sugaring mix and it came out perfect. I made strips from an old t-shirt.
    2-3 days after waxing I was exfoliating but there was dead skin anyways(if I exfoliated more roughly it was sore). I ended up with the biggest most painful cyst Dr Pimple Popper would've been proud to pop 😅. My husband popped the cyst almost a week ago. Yesterday I could feel discomfort after it had slowly been healing for a week. Now I wake up this morning and the cyst is swollen again & had to be sqeezed.
    I have no idea what I did wrong but I personally will never try sugaring my muffin again! It was painful during the process and its been painful post waxing. Im sure it's an error on my part cause the armpits didn't give me problems, even though not all the hair was lifted off.

      yes but you would need more sugar.

    • @super_genius
      @super_genius 7 лет назад +2

      no because white sugar is basically pure sucrose and brown sugar has molasses and junk in it

    I have two questions.
    1) Does the sugar have to be granulated?
    2) Does lemon juice have to come from real lemons and not from concentrate?
