I think it’s a fab story ❤🎅🏽⭐️🎄! The animatronics and bright colours are Christmassy and kids will love it! You can clearly see the 12 days theme and characters from the song! It’s much better than the past few yrs! ❤🎅🏽🎄⭐️

Kudos Fenwick for maintaining a tradition when times are tight. This year's window display was definitely one of the better ones in my book. But the whole point of a reveal is the element of surprise. You rehearsed tonight's show a fair few times while folks were queueing to be let in which somewhat ruined the anticipation of the theme given that we heard 12 Days of Christmas over and over. Did nobody think that might be an issue? Disappointing too that our host tonight was looking down at cue cards throughout rather than actually building a genuine rapport with the audience. Compare with last year's event and it's clear where the budget has and hasn't been spent - disappointing.
Okay it seems super cute but.... He's running a memo on an iPad and then takes that iPad on a magical journey to find Santa instead of just emailing it to him?? 🤔🤷♀️ I would think even most toddlers understand the concept of emails now. Pretty major floor in the story. 🤷♀️🤣
Sorry but its not as good as the excellent windows pre-2022 when all the puppets had moving parts. I grew up with these windows the last 2 cardboard cutout ones were awful. This one is better but still not as good as the likes of Paddington, the Snowman etc. I don't want a religious theme just plain old christmas with (proper) animated figures. You're cutting corners Fenwicks and depriving todays youngsters.
Christmas is a cultural event with multiple associations for many people. Basing a window on a traditional English carol isn’t too radical, but the associations of the song with the NE (it is reputed to have its origins in Newcastle) is a really nice touch.

Last time I checked Christianity is on the decline in the U.K. because people don’t believe in Christian values. And Jesus was born in Bethlehem which is in Palestine, In the Middle East.
Stood there for hours for people to dance for 10 mins and the reveal was shocking far to many people in there very crowded couldnt move kept getting pushed and shoved they wouldn't let us leave unless we had looked at the windows my autistic son didn't want to see the windows he wanted to go home waited in the cue to look at the windows for ages this year it was an absolute waste of time
@janesalisbury747 then why are Christmas lights getting cancelled???? Councils are trying to say its cost cutting measures. Sheffield has cancelled its switch on again because of health and safety, basically saying someone might attack the crowd because they are there. Wollaton Hall in Nottingham (the council cancelled its free bonfire night fire and fireworks for the fourth year running) has cancelled its Christmas lights show that started 4 years ago, saying they hope it will be back next year.

Sorry to be bearer of bad news but the 12 Days of Christmas is based on the 12 days after Christmas not the 12 days leading up to Christmas

I love all Fenwick's windows it's all for kids but I think the ticket price was a bit steep tbh 😕

I hope that's not the case. It's only a shop window, if people don't want to look they don't have to
