What happened to SHURI CASTLE?? I had no idea..

Hey friends! So this is from my final day in Okinawa when I did a solo excursion to Shuri Castle.
I didn't realize it before arriving, but it BURNED DOWN in a fire last year and I was SHOOK.

After spending time exploring Kokusaidori (popular shopping street in Naha), my friends went back to the airport as I went to see Shuri Castle. I walked there from the street and it took me about 45 minutes.
When I got there, I was excited to finally arrive but was a little confused.... 2:55
I had seen so many iconic photos of this castle, but it was no where to be seen. What happened to Shuri Castle? I had no idea. It wasn't until later that I found out that there was a fire in October 2019 that burned it down to the ground. They are working or rebuilding, but it's nowhere near what it used to be.
I wish I took more footage but I really had no idea what was going on at the time!
Toward the end of the video I headed back to the airport to make my way to KAGOSHIMA! Stay tuned for those adventures.
