- An in-depth look at the Bible events, location, and discoveries of ancient Bethsaida at the El Araj site. Peter, Andrew, and Philip were from this fishing town, and then later moved to Capernaum. This new location of Bethsaida has been recently discovered and we believe it is the true location. DONATE: www.paypal.com/donate?hosted_...

Location
1. Currently, there are two leading candidates for the true location of Bethsaida. Both are located on the northeastern side of the Sea of Galilee. The traditional site is called, "Et Tell" and the new location is called, "El Araj."
2. We know from the Bible that Bethsaida was in a desolate, remote place with little population.
Luke 9:10: The apostles, when they had returned, told him what things they had done. He took them and withdrew apart to a deserted place of a city called Bethsaida.
3. The northwestern side of the Sea of Galilee was densely populated in Jesus’ time, but the northeastern side where Bethsaida was located was desolate.
4. Bethsaida was a fishing village on the Sea of Galilee. In fact, its name means “House of Fishing.”
5. In John 1:44, we find that at least 3 disciples were from here, “Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.” We also know that at least Peter and Andrew were fishermen, so they lived in Bethsaida to be close to the sea.
6. The traditional site of Bethsaida is located almost 2 miles from the Sea of Galilee.
• This presents a challenge as Bethsaida was a fishing village right on the Sea of Galilee.
• Some have suggested the water level was higher back in Jesus’ day, but this is not the case as Capernaum, Magdala, and other towns are right on the sea. If the water level had been higher, these other towns could not have existed.
• Pliny the Elder, a first-century Roman writer, called Bethsaida “One of four lovely cities on the Sea of Galilee.”
7. New archaeologic evidence is pointing to a new location for Bethsaida which places it close to the inlet of the Jordan River into the Sea of Galilee.
8. This new location of Bethsaida fits better with the biblical narrative than the traditional site.
Historical Background
1. Bethsaida was a fishing village with several hundred inhabitants during the time of Christ.
2. At least 3 of the 12 disciples were from Bethsaida.
John 1:44: Now Philip was from Bethsaida, of the city of Andrew and Peter.
3. Later on, however, it appears these disciples moved to Capernaum to be closer to where Jesus lived.
Mark 1:21: And they went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath, he entered the synagogue and was teaching.
Mark 1:28: And immediately he left the synagogue and entered the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. And at once his fame spread everywhere throughout all the surrounding region of Galilee.

@@loonhaunt I'm a sinner I'm the first to admit I am. But when I read something like taking God's name in vein, it just seems very unnecessary! I'm not religious, I don't go to church and I'm far from righteous. But thanks for your judgement 😁

Great video. In the 1940’s Maria Valtorta described in her writings the site of Bethsaida just by the Lake, as the arqueollogical evidencie now shows.
If only one arqueologist beleived what her writings say, he would become famous knowing the locations of many places she mentions in her incredible work “The Gospel as it was revealed to me”.
I was gonna comment this! I’m working with someone corresponding to Maria Valtorta’s works to research the places of the Holy Land

“Now, the town no longer seems to be on the banks of the lake but slightly inland and this disconcerts the specialists. The explanation can be found in the fact that this side of the lake was filled up by twenty centuries of alluvium deposited by the river and by rock slides from the hills of Bethsaida. The town was then exactly at the mouth of the river, where it flowed into the lake, and even the smallest boats, in the seasons when the waters of the river were at their highest, could navigate quite a long way, as far as Korazim. However, the river itself was still used as a port and a shelter for boats from Bethsaida during storms on the lake. This is not meant for you, but for the fastidious, nitpicking doctors...” -Jesus to Maria Valtorta

Thanks for the video, watching these images of these once thriving cities currently in ruins reminded me of the word of the Lord...
Matthew 11:
20 Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:
21 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
22 But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.
23 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

Seems you found the real Bethsaida!!!----Lu 9:10 And the apostles, when they were returned, told him all that they had done. And he took them, and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida.

❤❤❤❤ AMAZING. information........😢🎉😂😮😅❤❤❤❤
Matthew, Luke and John tell us the feeding of 5000 took place in Betsaida. Why does Mark 6:45 contradict this ? It says after the feeding Jesus sent them by boat to Betsaida.
This is because they were in the vicinity of Bethsaida just a bit south of it in a desolate place.
God hand on your head ✝️👏
Thank you. God bless.

[Mark 8:24 KJV] And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.
Trees are extremely Symbolic in Scripture.
[Matthew 3:10 KJV] And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
[Mark 11:20 KJV] And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.
[Judges 9:15 NKJV] And the bramble said to the trees, 'If in truth you anoint me as king over you, Then come and take shelter in my shade; But if not, let fire come out of the bramble And devour the cedars of Lebanon!'
[1 Kings 5:6 NKJV] Now therefore, command that they cut down cedars for me from Lebanon; and my servants will be with your servants, and I will pay you wages for your servants according to whatever you say. For you know there is none among us who has skill to cut timber like the Sidonians.
[2 Kings 19:23 NKJV] By your messengers you have reproached the Lord, And said: "By the multitude of my chariots I have come up to the height of the mountains, To the limits of Lebanon; I will cut down its tall cedars And its choice cypress trees; I will enter the extremity of its borders, To its fruitful forest.
[Isaiah 10:34 KJV] And he shall cut down the thickets of the forest with iron, and Lebanon shall fall by a mighty one.

Does this mean that arab/Ottoman empire presence resulted in systematic destruction of buildings that could remind of Jewish settlements?
How could stone structures have disappeared under feet of soil like that? Could the crusade Christians have done this in 12th century? The romans after the destruction of the temple in AD 134?
Were there landslides from nearby hills?
Thanks for your questions. Yes, we have evidence of the Arab/Ottoman Empire destroying Christian buildings. We're not certain if they destroyed structures at Bethsaida or not. There is evidence that there was a large flood that caused a lot of erosion and covered part of these buildings. Also, due to time and other years of flooding by the Jordan River, the structures were covered as well.

Thanks for responding. I do realize wars are the main reason for destruction of history.
The secret about the healed blind man is that he saw spiritually before he saw physically. People are trees.
So true. Thanks for sharing.
It had to be by the lake. An italian mistique woman who had visions of events from Jesus time Maria Valtortta (and she was describing it so good with a lot of details that she could not know otherwise) said that Jesus gave an orphan boy to St. Peter and his wife because Peter cried and beged mother Mary to ask Jesus to give him the boy. And when Jesus gave him, one day when they came to Betsaida (Jesus and John), they came to take the boy with them to be with Jesus for ahwile and the boy asked Jesus :is that Simon's (Peter) boat going to Kapharnaum? "
And Jesus said it is. And they will meet with him there. So the boy couldn't see from the terace or the roof(they had flat roofs), if the town was that far away from the lake. He saw his boat sailing, so it had to be there by the watter.
Over 2000 years the Jordan river silted up where it entered the lake so you are not correct to say that the old site is wrong. 2000 years of silt could easily have moved the shoreline quite a distance south. I think you could be wrong.
Thanks for commenting. However, here is the problem: there are other towns right along the Sea of Galilee so the sea could not be higher than what it has always been. With this being the case, the traditional site is a long way from the seashore.
It is not important where I lived in the past, what's important what we do here and now. Only few knows who I was, but I'm not planning to teach as people cannot accept truth as is... But I will be helping people to heal.
@@Alex-mu3gf So who are you ????
@@HolyLandSite It was the silt washed down in the Jordan river where it entered the sea of Galilee. The other sites like Magdala , Tiberius etc, Were not next to where the silt built up . At the traditional site of Bethsaida which today , as you say is a long way from the sea shore , excavations found old fish hooks.
