Great Job looks like your family really enjoyed helping that’s fantastic! This builds character in young people. The Joy of doing a good job and seeing the results they helped build!
That's great! I'm clearing land right now to build our 16x16 tiny off grid cabin. It will be a little guesthouse/ trappers shack/ oasis. We bought a fixer upper and will use it to bridge the gap while we remodel the interior of our house. My husband will also use it as his trappers shack and reloading station. And it can fill in as a guesthouse. My husband is a chemical engineer and has to work long hours and travel often so.... I will be doing most of the construction by myself. I'm actually quite excited for the build!
Good thing you got it finished up before the lumber prices went stupid. Man if you got your daughter out there helping you you’re winning at life already!
Just thought I would pass this on. People need to understand once you cut a piece of pressure treated wood the end grain is no long protected. The treatment only penetrates so far into the post. The ends of the posts should have been treated with a wood preservative and then the part of the timber below grade coated with an asphaltic coating. Pre-mixed concrete bags need to be mixed as the aggregate, sand and cement stratify due to the process of being transported. Encapsulating the wood columns with concrete is the worst thing you can do as moisture gets trapped between the wood and the concrete accelerating rot. Pressure treatment was never meant to guard against being constantly exposed to moisture.
11:24 one of the big question I had when thinking of a 2 story workshop is.. if you should use 1 very long vertical beam to connect the 2 floors, or if you should build the 1st floor then add another set of beams as you are doing. It seems the latter solution might be more fragile (1st floor and 2nd floor only connected by nails), but I guess there are always ways to reinforce (eg add 4 structural large beams at the corners to strenghten everything). Any opinion on that ?
Hey I have a question we framed up a 10x20 with a 2ed story with a loft build . What all do we need to do to stop the shaking we are still framing. Just built the 2ed story floor .
Absolutely perfect so so cozy

Thank you for sharing this with me ! Take care , stay safe and healthy with whatever you maybe doing next ! Doing well here in Kansas .
my respect to you for putting the walls together with a hammer. we used drills when we built ours and i thought that was tough haha, nice work!
Good outbuildings are the difference between an efficient homestead and an inefficient one!
Good Job, sure looks easier when you time lapse a project.
Nice hammer work. Just what I need.
Renaissance Man at work.
Thank you for the video.

It is smart to make the stairs and then to make the floor of second level.

The building won’t shake if the sheathing is installed. ruclips.net/video/fpLr5JKBb-M/видео.html
I watched as you originally built this project. The only negative thing I will say is that I cringe every time I see you working in flip-flops... 😎
Overkill on post foundation. My observation!
Were is the inside video lol
there's no finale video?
Would be much easier with a pair of work boots 🥾 🤣😂
You had a nail gun in some of the video.... why didn't you use it instead of hammering all them nails in by hand..
Are you posting anywhere else. I'm planning to depart from RUclips soon due to intolerable censorship and would like to keep following you.
wtf фундамент. у нас в деревнях в россии так не делают. кошмар....
