This is just how my dad was. He didn't dislike gay people, he just didn't know how to deal with it. He was born in the 1920s. There's a second part to this where they go to the pub. It's just as awkward and funny. ✌️❤️🇬🇧

It is a generation thing, majority don't mean to be rude as someone said earlier, they just don't know how to act. I think Harry had it spot on, although obviously exaggerated for comedic effect..
As a Gay man of 65 it was hilarious at the time and still is humour is always a great way of dealing with bigotry and moronic people.
