  • It’s been ages since I last raced in Assetto Corsa, so today I’m making a long overdue return for this Mazda MX-5 Cup race with Low Fuel Motorsport.
    I’m well out of practice when it comes to Assetto Corsa LFM races, and I’m nearly three seconds off pole position here at the Nürburgring. I’ll be starting from P11 on a stacked grid of 26 cars, and I’ll need to find some extra race pace if I’m going to crack the top 10…
    Make sure you never miss an AC race! Hit that 'Subscribe' button and be the first to know whenever I'm racing. If you've enjoyed this LFM Assetto Corsa gameplay video, please do leave a like - it really helps the channel! Thank you all for watching.

    I just want to say, when I was eating reheated pizza for lunch when I was 14 or so (late 90s), I was watching DTM and BTTC on Eurosport and your comments bring me back to that special place. You have tremendous talent as a commentator and I love the fact you often race extremely well while always pushing for a positive attitude.

      Ahh thank you Sam, that is exactly the inspiration for my channel! I have fond memories of the motorsport highlights packages on the BBC, Eurosport and Screensport in the early 90s, so that was exactly the style I wanted to emulate with my videos. Thank you 😃

    Thoroughly enjoyed, sensible racing, hate drivers who think they own the track, must admit I chuckled when his aggression got the better of him. 👏

      Yeah, there were some fast drivers in this race who didn’t seem to have the ability to race closely with others. So many people running into the back of the cars in front of them.

    A very good race Chris, you did exceptionally well to avoid the chaos, and a great finishing position. When you say no pace, you're still a chunk faster than me, and I've definitely noticed recently that the Mazda's are getting more crash happy every week.

      Thank you, yeah I was a little harsh on myself saying I was slow. At the time, 3 seconds off pole on a short circuit felt VERY slow, but actually P11 out of 26 is still above average. I think the fastest guys benefit from setups too, whereas I don’t. But yeah, speed didn’t equal success for a lot of these guys!

    Very well done! These Mazda races on LFM are always a blast. And if you keep it clean you typically end with a good result

      @chrisrogerssimracing  2 месяца назад

      Yeah exactly right. On pace alone, I probably shouldn’t have finished any higher than 11th or 12th. But it was crazy seeing how poor a lot of these guys were when trying to race closely together. So many people getting bumped and spun out.

    Another excellent race, Chris! I sympathize with those little mistake you make. I make them too. I hate being chased... I stress about it and make mistakes. Haha yeah, they were certainly in a hurry to get back on track. AC is really good, I’ve not fired it up for ages, but always enjoy it when I do. The Mazdas still get decent participation on LFM, but the other series aren’t so popular now.

    Before the video 'Damn, I miss running the ac MX5 cup on LFM'
    42 unsafe rejoins, people constantly tagging the back of others, massive pileups caused by people not having any awareness of whats happening around them and still refusing toput on a helicorsa app, people causing three others races to end while themselves getting away with losing minimal time
    Yep, the memories are all coming back

    • @chrisrogerssimracing
      @chrisrogerssimracing  2 месяца назад

      Haha yep 🤣 it surprised me how so many people were unable to race closely alongside others. High ELOs but low safety ratings. Soegeng was really poor when racing behind people… like you say, spun multiple people out to gain advantages. No surprise his SR is so low. And the guy who kept driving into me on lap one, his SR was even lower still 🤣

    • @JasonWMorningwood
      @JasonWMorningwood 2 месяца назад +1

      @@chrisrogerssimracing One of the reasons I went over to ACC, at least the bar to entry is higher, and low SR drivers are segregated to the bottom splits of the rookie series. It's definitely not perfect, but it's definitely better. Plus the helicorsa being on by default probably helps too

    Nice. You had a lot of luck going your way there but you did make some good decisions that kept you out of trouble for the most part. I'm enjoying seeing the improvements you are making in your racecraft. Keep it up.
    FYI. There is a little trick i found that can help make the horrible interaction the cars have to some of the worst kerbs in this game more manageable. You can mitigate the reaction greatly by either being off throttle or at a constant speed (not increasing acceleration) while going over the kerbs. Maybe give it a try and see if you find the same and i hope it helps. 😁

    Don't you use the Content Manager Radar? I think it's better than heli in some ways, and you can customise it with liveries for example. I can't race for months, I broke my finger, but at least I see you on LFM.

    • @chrisrogerssimracing
      @chrisrogerssimracing  2 месяца назад +1

      I didn’t even realise there was a built-in radar until recently. Has it always been there, or is it a newer addition? I just installed Helicorsa when I first tried AC a few years ago, and never looked to try anything else. I’ll take a look at this other one though 👍

      @@chrisrogerssimracing It's not a very new addition, it was after helicorsa, I don't know how long it's really been around, it was as a standalone app. But a new app was added recently, App Shelf, where there is now the new edition of this radar with more features. In addition there is also the Extended Control of VRC. It's not the same as helicorsa or ACC radar for example, it's like AMS2.

      Because I do these videos as a hobby. So I make them in the format I like, and the style I enjoy on a personal level. Some people enjoy them, some people don’t. Generally I’d like to think that the people who enjoy it will watch them, and the people who don’t enjoy it don’t have to watch them. Makes sense to me. I don’t charge any paid memberships or premium content, so everything is free… anybody who doesn’t like my videos, isn’t out of pocket in any way. So I don’t see the problem.
