I have a whalefin that shot up a new leaf twice as long as the original growing under a grow light. Previously I aquired a variety sold as 🦈shark fin that only reaches about 8 inches long. There's another Sansevieria variety which appears to be a miniature or dwarf being offered is Koi Fin. These were offered in variegated and normal green forms. Snakeplants seem to have unlimited varieties 😊

So many options, I agree! And I love that intense burst of energy, bringing up a new leaf or two each year.

Hi! Thanks for your wonderful video. I bought this plant yesterday. It is very healthy and has 2 leaves. But the soil is wet. I think is was watered very recently at the store. I am worried that will it cause any problem? I mean do I need to change the soil immediately as it is wet not dry?

Store plants aren't looked after very well unfortunatly :-( - But unless the soil is drenched (like water pours out if you tip it sideways) I wouldn't be in a hurry to repot it personally. Although it's up to you and it's not "wrong" if you choose to go ahead and do it now.

I’d like to know what factors make it grow big and wide. My three year old plant 16” plant produced a 20” skinny leaf....couldn’t find any info on this.

I don't know for certain, but I suspect it's a genetic potential vs light received situation. Snake Plants are well known to have different lengths and widths in their leaves, so what you're describing is still within the realms of "normal", however as a grower, I can't be certain how to influence this. If you do find out, please do swing by and let me know.

Can I grow it in water? Thank you.

Great question. Normal Snake Plants, yes. But as for the Whale Fin.... I wasn't 100% sure. So I've checked and there is another video on RUclips where someone does it. I can't vouch for it obviously, but it looks like the answer is, yes you can - ruclips.net/video/eETiImWXJYc/видео.html
