I just received my JibOne last Friday. I am loving it though I found out the hard way that you must be sure that each counterweight is fully screwed in before you add another. I did not and two of the weights broke free and fell to the floor breaking one of the screws. Fortunately my toes were not under the weights at that time. Great review that felt like you provided balance of the good and the bad. I am really impressed you gave Edelkrone the opportunity to respond. Thank you for the kind words Jason! I have to tell you that while we were filming this I had 3 of the weights screwed together and then attached them to the jib and forgot to screw them in ... a few minutes later it sounded like a bomb went off when they hit the floor. Oops. LOL It happens.

This was most helpful. I want to buy this for my church. I wish they had a remote control though. Think you can talk them into it. If it’s a stationary system for studios, event hall and church, a joystick remote control would be outstanding.
Just purchased my setup so it’s currently in transition mode, but with that said, I’ve been scouring the RUclips platform for information about this job to prepare it for my production studio and there’s two problems. There’s not enough content on it or how to use it and the content out there is really subpar. Your video is the most information I’ve taken away from this unit and I’m even more excited to use it, so thank you. You got my approval, my subscription and my 👍 !!!!
Came to watch your video (from IG post) to compare experiences with the same setup. Your edelkrone replies answered a few of my questions. Thank you for that! Although had tried the "do not touch" knob and it didn't solve my stuttering issue. The only other question I still have is how I should be balancing the jib when using the headONE. Should be balancing with the head facing forward? because as it rotates it stretches further than when it was balanced and it worsens my stuttering. The plate where you screw the headONE (or camera) has a bit of leeway side to side so where do I set the headONE (been using it in the middle). Anyways, most questions were surrounding that. Also, I mostly use it underslung, so I thought -90 degrees was for that but nope. it's literally the same. setting -90 just made my app lower the jib when moving the knob to raise the jib. So I guess directions are the same if used underslung. My only other complaint was that it moves way too fast for my taste. I have to set speed down to 20% to get a smooth shot. Dude you're a natural at these videos for it being your first. Keep it up. Great video!
Carlito! First.. Thanks for Watching!!! (and being our first comment!). To give you my best advice; I've been balancing the JibONE with the HeadPlus on it facing forward (not extended) and that seems to work fine for me 99% of the time. I also screw my HeadPlus into the JibONE in the dead center because my thinking is that the HeadPlus had to be balanced so keeping it centered should keep it balanced better. And lastly .. thank you so very very much for the kind words! With this being our first video we are ecstatic to hear some positive feedback! Thank you!!
Nice video, been looking at the jib one, wont be getting it for a while but I do like the slider and head one units I got. Love that they are modular. Just combine my headone with a tilta wireless follow focus and works a treat. One of the reasons why I enjoy using edelkrone is because I don't just need to use it for the intended application Just subbed
Great video. Just exchanged the slider for the jibone. I wasn't happy with the balancing without any counterweight option for the motorized slider and the time it took to set up. I would have loved hearing the Rhino rant. :-)
Thanks for the awesome review! Just got my JibOne and have trouble using the laser properly (the camera always goes a little higher than my laser target)...can you please make a tutorial on how you're using the laser together with the jib? Thanks!!
Marius, while I've used the laser module several times with the slider, I have yet to be in a situation where I've needed to use it with the jibONE. After reading your comment I might try to do a test so I don't walk into a client project expecting it work a certain way and learning the hard way that it doesn't. ... On a related note I'm in the middle of trying to get the laser module to work with the Laowa 24mm Probe Lens and waiting for a reply from edelkrone support. So maybe at some point we'll do a whole video about the laser+focus module
Yup. Ordered it on the 16th and wasn't expecting it to ship for a while but I got an email that it shipped on the 19th ... I'm VERY curious to try it out! Since this review I also switched to a much heavier camera system that I still haven't had time to test on the JibONE so I thinking once the Pan PRO gets here I might see how well it works with the new setup and the new remote (I REALLY REALLY love the remote .. use it with the slider often)
@@ubiVidz I have the remote as well. Just wondering what type of movement the pan pro will add to the jib one. Cant wait for you to make a video about it!
... very good review. 👍🏻 how susceptible to errors is the laser module? can it work perfectly in interviews? or does the setup take too long? is it worth buying?
Thank you. Personally I love the laser module for product stuff. It's also the FASTEST way to set up a shot. At first I wasn't sure it was making that big of a difference in my shots but I did a few tests and it's like night and day between manual and target mode with the laser. But I don't think it's really suited for an interview. I haven't tried it actually. I would think you'd have to shoot the laser at the subjects eye and that isn't something I would recommend.
Do you have any tips on attaching the headplus pro to the jibone? I tighten the hell out of that rod, but it keeps slipping. I'm just under the max payload weight too. It's funny, edelkrone is like amazing and so difficult at the same time. Thanks for your do not touch knob tip. I was getting jitters and that's how I found your video.
Amazing review and video all around. I’m so bummed this seems to have been a one off review. I think I’d watch pretty much anything you want to talk about. Awesome style. Felt like I was watching Lewis Black review camera gear :).
good so how do u reset, say am shooting a music orchestra concert so on the first half of the show I set pause 1 n 2 then loop, second half I decided to change positions do u have to switch off n reset of u just erase n proceed
Very funny made and full of information, thanks a lot for your video. So I have a question related to the Tension knob. When balancing the jibone, the knob has to be loosen as loose as it goes. But what do you do with the tension knob, when jibone is balanced and ready to go? Do you tighten the Tension knob or do you leave it loosen as you loosen it before for balancing the jib?
Some very useful information. It's just a matter of personal taste, and my taste probably is not mainstream: the silly stuff (like "Where's Waldo" and "I held the poop in to entertain you") distracts from the quality of the video. It strikes me as an older guy doing Potato Jet as he might have been in middle school. Nobody but Gene can do Potato Jet. Still, your information is some of the most useful I've seen on the jib. So, thumbs up from me.
Eric I have to disagree with you..I didnt get a Potato jet vibe I got hey this guys spicing up his video..I like the more down to earth Reviews... But hey after you look me up you'll understand my Point...lol
@@BrannonNod Hey Brannon. I guess it's just a matter of taste, and maybe I'm getting old. The "Where's Waldo" stuff doesn't entertain me. ubiVidz might have slow going building his subscriber number if he positions himself to compete in the entertainment-education space against the likes of Potato Jet, who is cleverer, has a good straight man (Sam), and makes me laugh a lot even though I think he sometimes goes on too long over too little, as in his love for his Tesla. Funny guy who would be funnier with a different guy editing. I checked out your review of the Liberty 2 Pros vs the Jabra 75ts. Nice! I feel as if I know a lot about what makes them different. Kudos on your opening b-roll. Making ear buds look epic is not easy, and your knife twirl speed ramp was cool.
@@erikgordon4804 Thanx Eric hope to have you Aboard my Following Family...I get mixed feelings on my reviews as well but the majority seem to dig it..As far as to old I'm 50😜
@@BrannonNod Brannon, I get it. Everyone who creates something and puts it out there gets mixed reviews and has mixed feelings about the reviews they get. Unless you are hosting a daytime game show, I guess you just have to hope you are doing work that is good for some decent number of people.
I see you’re not fond of rhino. Have you used the rhino arc II? I personally liked the arc II so much I bought 4 of their heads secondhand off eBay, as well as a 24/48 inch sliders. It’s been very very reliable. AND I just bought the rhino dolly. It works incredibly well, just difficult as hell to figure out the first time.
Hia. Have you tried the slider style shot but with the camera pointing backwards so you get a more natural outward curve around the sujbect? Obviously when you point it the eight way it gets closer to the subject, as does a normal slider I guess, but backwards it seems like the outward curve could actually keep the subject at the same distance throughout the horizontal movement. I'd be interested to see if it works. I'm sure you can angle everything so the jib doesn't get in the way
Have you tried the focus module and laser with a lens that does not have hard stops? If so how did you do it? I got mine today and spent all evening trying to perfect focus haven’t had much luck.
Do you have a problem with the laser and the Jib? My problem is that once I point the laser to select a target and then the camera automatically moves to that selection, my product is not in the middle where my laser was... Am I doing something wrong maybe?
Fortunately for me the only lens I have like this is the Sigma 18-35 and I didn't need to teach it to the system because it was already in the library. As a matter of fact ALL of my lenses were in the library until I recently received a new lens and had to *TRY* to teach it to the system yesterday with disastrous results. I've reached out to edelkrone support about my issue and may possibly do a video about the laser+focus module at some point once I've done a bit more with them.
Briefly: The Rhino system isn't modular and feels pricey for something so basic. The ARC II has been out for about a year and STILL no Android app to spite saying they were working on one before it launched. They never added a third axis to the Evo system and instead made the ARC II which left the EVO customers with no upgrade option. Lastly, I personally find Rhino's marketing very disingenuous.
@@ubiVidz I appreciate the response! Thank you for sharing your thoughts because I'm looking for something like the arc ii or the jibone but I've heard other people echo the same concerns you had with rhino. I've also heard (and seen) some really bad jitters come from Edelkrone products. I heard nightmare stories about the Edelkrone app too because it will fail to connect often + firmware updates/ads popping up that make the setup process slower. What really tickles my spider senses is how almost every review is sponsored by Edelkrone and a lot of the content creators got the product for free and are masking the beginning and end of shots by either taking them out completely or adding a fast transition (where the jitter supposedly gets really bad). I have also heard that the focus module is essentially garbage, especially for lens with soft stops like the 18-35mm sigma art that I use, so it leaves me wondering how i'm going to pull focus. I don't want to sound like I'm complaining or knocking Edelkrone because I'm not. I'm intrigued by their products and I'm tempted to get the jibone despite the shortcomings. I'm just stating the negative things I've heard so far. But you seem to be an honest reviewer and I'd love to get your take on all that stuff now that you've had extensive time with the product. Has the app frustrated you like it has many others (especially illustrated in Gerald undone's review of the headplus)? Are fixing the jitters really as easy as turning the do not touch knob? Is the slight wobble at the end of every set frame rate as bad as people are saying making it hard to use it to go from one subject to another? P.S Apologies for all the follow up questions! I just feel like you would be somebody who can answer these questions HONESTLY and help me decide whether or not to invest thousands into the ecosystem
@@lauddp1150 I'm in the middle of a shoot right now so I have to be quick (ironically, actually using the JibONE, HeadPlus, Focus Module and the Sigma 18-35 Art lens). When I mentioned disingenuous marketing, I was speaking very much towards the "Gerald Undone" video (among some others). It DOES NOT take 30+ minutes to set up an Edelkrone slider and it says more about Gerald than it does the slider if it really took him that long. MOST of what he says in that video is waaaaaaaaaaay over the top and a total hit job on the Edelkrone system. Anywaaaaay ... I've had my system for a few months now (sans the JibONE until it shipped) and I never had any problems with jitters. Not even once. I did get a little freaked out when the slider stopped a few times when I first got it. But it was because I need to tighten the tension. It took all of a minute to do and I haven't need to do it again since. As for the App, it's fairly intuitive, until it's not. Thats a hard one to explain, but I still haven't figured out how to change a lens and tell the app I changed it and not have to start over. I'm guessing there is a way, but I do this so rarely that I just start over and forget to look up the RIGHT WAY for the next time. As for the JibONE ... It's great for a lot of things.. but ... I'm having an issue at this very moment with it being too short for what I want to do, and had to rig up an INSANE stand to hover it over a table because putting it on a tripod wouldn't work. I'd use another jib for the shot but I need the motion control soooo it's a trade off. With all that said, I do encounter the occasional problem with the Edelkrone system, but none so far that weren't a fairly easy fix. But I had the same amount of problems with my old Rhino setup and the REAL difference is that thus far Edelkrone support has been AMAZING! I mean truly top-notch and that was before they had any clue I was going to do a review of the JibONE. Oh .. that and the Edelkrone system is modular which is really hard to beat. But this is just my 2 cents. I know another guy who prefers the Rhino because he's just using it for slider shots. So consider what you're going to use it for and if you want to expand. That's the best advice I can give.
I watched the Gerald Undone vid the other day and it felt so obvious there was some sort of bad blood between him and Edelkrone. Too bad something like that had to happen, but really happy to hear a second opinion from others out there on that situation and how much things were actually exaggerated. Eases my nerves as I’m very much considering this system.
Can you mod the bracket ( don't know it real name) where the 4 lines on silver fitting to base? Drill a hole below to elevate the mount and eliminate the contact as shown?
I noticed you are using an Olympus Pro lens with the Focus Module. Can you do a video about getting that to work? The focus rings and motor solution supplied by Edelkrone are just not working with me. It seems to ignore the hard stops and then causes issues with the rings.
hi Sir have you tried or ask edelkrone if the jibOne would work with the dollyplus Pro also by just 1 app to control both? or all together with the other modules as pan and headplus works with jibOne
Was there a number you called to speak with someone form Edlekrone? I purchased the jibone + Head Pro + Pan Pro - spent $2700 and the device is jittery. the footage is unusable and I need to get in contact with them because at this point I just have a $2700 hunk of metal that angers me everytime I look at it.

Thank you!!
ubiVidz of course brother! Keep it up!
Oh and I meant headPLUS in my comment but i suspect you understood what i meant. Maybe.
the most useful video I have watched . tyvm .like ur video very much
Solid review - Thanks!
dude I just bought pretty much everything edelkrone offers xD Really loved your video and subscribed! Regards from germany
Well done video - very informative and humorous. It is clear you invested a lot of time in producing this video. Thank you. (Currently in Hong Kong)
Nice video, been looking at the jib one, wont be getting it for a while but I do like the slider and head one units I got. Love that they are modular.
Just combine my headone with a tilta wireless follow focus and works a treat. One of the reasons why I enjoy using edelkrone is because I don't just need to use it for the intended application
Just subbed
Thanks Byron. We truly appreciate the support and we're working on getting some new content up asap
@@ubiVidz no problem at all I'm no stranger to how much work goes into making these things
Great video, please make more content for us !!
how do you only have 393 subscribers? this is great quality stuff. love your humor
Great video. Just exchanged the slider for the jibone. I wasn't happy with the balancing without any counterweight option for the motorized slider and the time it took to set up. I would have loved hearing the Rhino rant. :-)
LOL The Rhino Rant was reeeeally long and made me sound like a cranky old man (with valid points).
@@ubiVidz Nothing wrong with that! lol
If it turns out this guy is related to Lewis Black I wouldnt be surprised. Great video!
Great video, you’re really good at this!
Thank you :)
This video is a lifesaver!
Great content!
Really enjoyed it.

Will you be getting the new pan pro and use it with the jib one ??? Not sure how much it would add to the jib one movement
I would think you'd have to shoot the laser at the subjects eye and that isn't something I would recommend.
ubiVidz ... thx. That’s right. Eyes are not the best subjects. 😉
Yes sr. Brother you rock! great information, your innertanning along with clear cut video, I'll be watching for sure, !
Love this guy😂‼️
Great review and you are hilarious!
loved the video!
good so how do u reset, say am shooting a music orchestra concert so on the first half of the show I set pause 1 n 2 then loop, second half I decided to change positions do u have to switch off n reset of u just erase n proceed

I'm at 17:00 minutes now, this is the funniest product review I have ever seen. Good job -
What was your total purcha$e price??
0:04 😂 That intro!
Just found your channel and I'm hooked. Liked & subbed, but now I'm curious about that Rhino rant. Will we ever get to hear it?
Very good objective review.
I hate the app.
I love there is a new remote control that does the basic functions.
That was nice and funny. Wait! We have a message from Symon. It says; thanks! ✌️
I've reached out to edelkrone support about my issue and may possibly do a video about the laser+focus module at some point once I've done a bit more with them.
ubiVidz I have the 18-35 as well, how do you handle the soft stops?
Video was great. Do more.
cooles video! nice greatings from germany :-)
Can you give us an brief about what you have against rhino? lol cause the arc 2 is looking like a great alternative
Mann... you just make our neighbors company jealous... lol
Nice review. Kisses...
Did you notice any more micro jitters after you got it all set up and figured out?
Nope. I've never actually had the "micro jitters". I've had more of a stutter that only happens once in a rare while and fixes with the turn of a knob
ubiVidz ok Thank you
hi Sir have you tried or ask edelkrone if the jibOne would work with the dollyplus Pro also by just 1 app to control both? or all together with the other modules as pan and headplus works with jibOne
Hello, can only use and program the JibONE without any accessories like the Smart head ? while I bought the other accessories...
I just emailed support
